《Living With The Asshole》Chapter 3

Trent and I were on the way to the Woods' house where I was going to live with complete strangers until things settled down with Kayla.
I still couldn't believe Amanda was willing to let me live with her when we barely even knew each other.
Well,at least one of my problems was solved.
Now I had to figure out how to fix things with Kayla.
There were so many questions in my mind.
What if Kayla never talked to either of us again?
What would I do?
What would happen to Trent? He genuinely cared for her.
And Kayla? Would she be able to live without Trent?
What would I do without my best friend?
I had to admit, I was hurt. Not only did I miss her but I was also hurt and disappointed.
The three of us had been best friends for years. I thought we knew each other like the back of our hands.
Surely she could've had a little more faith in us?
It wasn't her fault, though. What she had seen would make anyone question their partner. Or best friends.
But well, neither was it my fault or Trent's. This was all just one stupid misunderstanding.
"We're here."
She would be fine. She needed time.
"Ashley?"
I understood though. Had this happened to me, I probably would've done the same but-
"Ashley!"
"What?" I jumped in my seat in surprise.
"You alright?" Trent asked, looking at mtw worriedly.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
I knew he could tell something was up.
He gave me a flat look."Tell me."
"It's nothing, really."
"Ashley..." he said in a warning tone.
"Do you really want to be tickled right now?" he asked , raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not ticklish anymore," I lied.

"Oh really now?"he smirked evilly and reached his hands out.
"Stop,I'll tell you!" I exclaimed before he could even touch me.
I sighed dramatically.
"Well?"
"I was just thinking about how things are gonna be when I move in here. You know since I don't even know these people," I lied again, hoping he'd buy it.
And surprisingly,for once he did.
"Hey, it'll all be fine, okay? And if you're not comfortable here then we'll figure something out.Don't worry," he said, squeezing my hand reassuringly.
I was really grateful to have a friend like him. "Thank you," I smiled.
It was then that I noticed the car wasn't moving."Oh,we're here!"
Trent shook his head to himself as we both got out of the car.
I saw a beautiful house in front of me. Huge and well built the house looked amazing.
The last time I'd been here,it had been late at night with music blaring out from it.
But looking at it now,in broad daylight,it was a lovely looking house.
As I scanned the place with my eyes,I spotted Amanda coming towards us.
"Hi guys," she smiled.
"Hey," Trent said.
"Hi," I said, smiling back."You have a lovely house."
She laughed softly."Thank you. Let's go inside?"
The three of us headed inside.Inside, now that I could properly see it,it was very well designed.
I loved the place.
"So I guess I'll give you a tour of the house first.", she suggested.
"Sounds good."
"I think I should get going now, I've got to help Dad with something," Trent spoke up.
"Okay, see you tomorrow," I said as he walked out from the same door we'd come in from.

Amanda showed me around her house. It was huge.
She had shown me almost all the rooms by now,and now we were upstairs looking at the last door at the end of the hall on the opposite side of which was another door.
"And lastly, your room,"she said, opening the last door.
She led me into what was going to be my room for sometime.
The room was big and spacious.
White and black themed,it looked really clean and decent. There was a big black couch in one corner facing a tv.In the middle of the room was a white bed which gave the room a fresh look.
I loved it.
"I know, it's really boring."
"No, it's lovely!I really like it," I said truthfully.
Amanda smiled."I'm glad you did.If you want anything just let me know okay?Or tell Jo.I mean our housekeeper Joanna. I think she's gone out but she'll be back soon."
"Thank you so much,Amanda."
"No biggie.Anyways, I have to go somewhere.See ya later.Make yourself comfortable, yeah?"
I nodded with a smile."See you."
She left after that and I started unpacking. An hour later, I was finished and tired.
I threw myself on my bed and before I knew it, I was fast asleep.
When I woke up,it was 3 pm.My stomach growled and I decided to go downstairs.
I washed my face and brushed my hair,to look slightly presentable . Didn't want to scare my housemates on the very first day.
When I went downstairs,I didn't see Amanda anywhere. Her brother too, wasn't there.
I went into the kitchen where I found a middle aged woman. It must be the housekeeper Amanda had mentioned,I assumed.
"Hello," I smiled, stepping into the kitchen.
She looked at me over her shoulder. "Oh,hi!" she smiled back, not at all looking surprised to see me."I'm Joanna. You must be Ashley."
Joanna seemed to be in her mid forties. With curly hair and kind green eyes she looked like a nice lady.
"That's me," I replied with a grin.
I spent the next hour chatting to her.She was a very warm and friendly woman.
"You must be hungry, let me get something for you to eat,"she said. "Why don't you go sit in the living room while I get you something to eat?"
"Okay," I said, walking out of the kitchen.I stuck my hand in my pocket to get my phone but it wasn't there.
I went back upstairs to get it from my room, but then I heard some noise coming from the room beside mine, which belonged to Amanda's brother.
I quickly went inside and got my phone, not giving much thought to it.
When I came out of the room though, I crashed into someone's chest. Damn, whoever it was sure smelled good.
"Whoa,"a voice said as I pulled away.
"I'm so sor-You?!" I was going to apologise but when I saw who it was, I was filled with rage.
"Shit," his eyes widened in recognition. "What are you doing here?"
It was the same guy from the party. The jerk who had not only pulled me into a room against my will but had also kissed me.
"I'm going to be living here for the next few days," I replied with my eyes narrowed."What are you doing here?"
He rolled his eyes."I kinda live here?"
Wait, what?
Did that mean he was....
"Aaron Woods, Amanda's brother."
