《Aphrodisiac ✔️(mikaelson soulmate)》Chapter XXVI: Protection

The thing with being sick is that you can't do anything. You begin to feel useless. You can't soothe your panicked mates. You can't take care of them- which is a mate urge. The feeling of them is dulled completely. If it wasn't for them taking turns to lay with me- I wouldn't feel like I felt them at all. I hated this.
But there was something I hated more. Sleep. The sicker I felt- the more withdrawn I was from them- the worse the dreams hit. The blonde man with blue eyes haunted my every dream. Trying to kill me in new and different ways. I was basically living out the 1000 ways to Die show that I used to watch with my siblings.
And yet, every time he had almost killed me, someone would wake me up. Claim I was screaming. I was so confused. My throat killed, which made sense since I had been screaming. Nik hadn't left my side at all. His wolf form laying somewhat on me. His whining filled the room. I was curious if he was the most effected since we had not mated yet. Like he was afraid to lose something he didn't have.
"You need to sleep, love." Nik mumbled as he returned to his normal self. His hand came up to rub along my cheek as I rolled over to look at him. Nik was laying on his side with a throw blanket over his waist. His blue eyes meeting mine.
"I can't." I told him with a frown on my lips. Nik rested his hand on my cheek.
"Tell me what you know about the dreams." Nik told me. His face looked like he was trying to understand. But I had no idea how to explain it to him when I couldn't remember them much. I knew I was in danger in my dreams. But that was really it.

"I-I don't remember them, Nik." I told him honestly. He looked at me a bit confused.
"Then how do you know to be afraid to sleep?" It was an honest question. But how do I explain the fear I feel? How do I explain to him that when I am woke up, I remember the ice burning in my veins of the near death experience. How do I tell him that the man's blue eyes are haunting me?
I looked away from him, rolling onto my back as I sighed. Nik sitting up to look at me in concern.
"Hey- they are going to fix this, alright?" Nik told me with sincerity in his eyes. "And you'll be back on your feet, poking fun at me and I'll take you dancing." He explained with a smile.
"Dancing?" I questioned with a smile in return. I was an awful dancer. I had tried to become a ballerina when I was younger and snapped my ankle in an attempt of Swan Lake- I was seven. That's how bad I am. Not to mention that I had knocked over the other girls in a domino effect.
"Don't tell me you don't like dancing, love." Nik said with a small teasing look to his expression.
"I can't dance. It's not that I don't like it." I told him with a small pout. He laughed, shaking his head as he placed his hand on my cheek again.
"I'll lead you, Octavia." He told me with a loving look in his ocean eyes. "And I won't let you fall." He leaned over and pressed a kiss to the corner of my mouth, in which I pulled away from him with a grimace.
"I've been puking for days- don't kiss me." I whined. But Nik only laughed as he pulled me to look at him.

"And yet you still smell and taste like the best dessert I'd ever had." He told me. His face told me he was being completely serious. A rush of red ran up my cheeks as I stared into his eyes. He looked concerned for a minute before moving his hand to my forehead. "Your fever is fading and yet you're red, love, are you embarrassed?" He asked in a teasing tone. I wanted to bite that teasing smile off of his smug face. Hell, I wanted to do more than bite. But before I could speak up, Elijah strolled into the room.
"Interrupting something? Now now, Niklaus, best not take advantage of our sick mate." Elijah teased with a smirk. Nik growled at him annoyed before Elijah's face turned serious. "The witches have figured it out-" He held up a necklace.
It was dull looking. Handmade, possibly. I liked it though.
"Isn't that-" Nik started, but stopped. His eyes looking at the necklace in confusion. Elijah snapped his eyes to him, giving him a short subtle nod which caused Nik to look away. Guilt? Why was he guilty?
"This is a necklace Finn made years ago. The witches put a protection spell on it. It should keep you out of the line of sight of the Ancestors." Elijah explained as he walked over so gracefully. I swear he was meant to be a prince in his past life. Nik helped me sit up before Elijah placed the necklace around my neck.
When the iron hit my chest, where it would rest for the time being, it was warm. Not like it was warmed by Elijah's hand- but I could feel the heat of magic in it. Was that even possible? Maybe I was just crazy- Makes sense.
"So?" Nik questioned, looking at me and every once in a while glancing to the necklace. "How do you feel?"
"It won't work that fast, Niklaus." Elijah tsked his brother causing Nik to roll his eyes in return. Footsteps came up to the door, before Kol and Finn strolled into the room. Kol had a grin on his face as he flopped into the bed next to me, basically falling halfway onto Nik. Nik growling out of annoyance, shoved Kol away. But Kol just moved out of the way quickly.
"So what do you want to do once you feel better, Darlin'?" Kol questioned with a happy look on his face. "Maybe we could go out on a road trip for a week? Ditch these losers." I laughed at him. He had been talking more like a popular kid from the 80s since we watched Can't Buy me Love. I think he also had watched Sixteen Candles and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I think I created a monster.
"Alright Marty Mcfly." I joked, but Nik sat up more at this.
"Um- no. She's mine this week." He argued. His eyes flashing yellow. "We made plans to go dancing- so why don't you go take a beauty class or something." Kol looked offended at Nik's poke.
"That's just rude." Kol huffed causing me to laugh into a coughing fit. These two were going to be the death of me- I;m nearly a hundred percent sure of that. Finn came over to sit next to me, rubbing my back soothingly. Elijah glared at his two younger brothers.
"It doesn't matter what any of you say- she's mine the moment she is on her feet again." I looked up to see someone I hadn't expected to be here. Rebekah Mikaelson, a smirk on her face and arms crossed.

Ocean Attuned - A timeloop LitRPG
In the mids of industrialization, Liana, a girl of almost twelve, awakens her flow and follows her newly awakened calling, the ocean, and thus the path of the last remaining god. With the advent of industry, one's status and the accompanying skills slowly grow to be secondary as people choose more recreational skills and classes. The clear exception are flow bringers. Humans with an increased affinity towards flow and attunements are the only real remnants of the age of gods and mysticism. Terrors on the battlefield, saints in hospitals, saviours during drought, are just some examples of the wonderous abilities they display. As civilization grows less dangerous so does the stress that is often associated with the awakening of the flow reduce and only the real talents remain. Please be aware that this is a first draft at best. Tag/Genre analysis: Action: A theme that will appear in the story at some point (probably 15+ chapters in) Adventure: Yes Fantasy: Yes Magic, Beasts, and other fantastical elements are totally at home here. Tragedy: Life is not always fun. For what is fun when there are no downsides. I don't know how heavily I am going to lean into this genre. I want to but don't expect too much. Loop: Yes, though I will not divulge anything else. Just be aware that there isn't nearly as much looping as in MoL for example. Female Lead: Yes, Liana is female. Dungeon: Yes, there are dungeons. Yes, they will get explored. LitRPG: Yes, read the first chapter if you want an example. Magic: most definitely because who doesn't like calling lighting down from the heavens. (Disclaimer: No actual lightning will be called down from the heavens) Mythos: There are gods. So maybe, I don't know if that is enough to qualify? Progression: yes Slice of Life: There is plot, and the story will mostly be about that plot, but there will also be downtime because there can't always be action. The first "loop" especially the first 20-30 chapters will be heavily SoL. And afterward there will be a lot less. Profanity: The ocean (see title) includes sailors and we all know how the stereotypical sailor is. Gore: Hmmm, some but I will have it be not graphic at all.
