Loki escorted me to our new chambers. His old chambers, yet done up with beautiful golden marble floors. A sweet scent of honey filled the air, the fresh breeze of the Asgardian air blowing in through the shimmering chiffon curtains which led out to the balcony. I smiled and took a deep breath of the fresh air, walking out to the balcony. I could feel my hands shaking slightly. Ever since my suicide attempt, I had avoided any kind of balcony in fear of triggering a bad memory. However, with the man I loved standing by my side, I felt like I could conquer the world.

"Darling." Loki purred. I turned around to smile at him. He was smiling back at me. It was strange, as I don't think I'd ever seen him smile genuinely since before he disappeared. There was no hint of mischief, just pure love in his icy blue eyes. His arms snaked around my waist, pulling me in close. I felt safe as I felt his hands rest in the curve of my back.

"You have no idea how long I have waited for this." I whispered in his ear as I wrapped my arms around his neck, burying my face into his chest. Although I couldn't see him, I could feel his smile widen as he rested his head on top of mine.

"There won't be anymore waiting, love."

The sky was a beautiful hue of purple and deep red. I broke our hug to turn, before taking his arms again and wrapping them around my waist once again. I looked at the sunset, feeling for the first time in a while, complete.

---

As I stirred the next morning, my eyes strained at the golden sunlight pouring into the bedroom. My hands were wrapped in the silk golden sheets, Loki still sleeping facing away from me. I lifted my hand and faintly traced my finger across the lines of his back. He stirred slightly, moaning at the bright sunlight as I had moments before. He turned to face me, taking my hand and placing a kiss on top.

"Good morning princess." He grinned, moving closer to me and hugging me, kissing my neck as he pulled me in closer. His kisses traced up my neck to my chin and then my lips. His lips were cold yet inviting. I smiled into the kiss, wrapping my legs around his waist and pulling him on top. He laughed softly.

"Oh how I have missed this." He grinned. His hands cupped my cheek, his thumb softly stroking my skin as he kissed me deeper. I could feel my heart leaping out of my chest. Our bodies felt as one.

Suddenly, he pulled away and flashed me an apologetic look.

"Sorry, my love. Duty awaits."

I bit my lip in disappointment and nodded quietly, forcing a smile and wishing we could stay in bed just a little longer. Loki got up and yawned, stretching out his arms and turning back to face me. He leaned down and planted a soft kiss on my forehead. I smiled, for real this time, and watched as he changed before heading to Odin's quarters to start his day. I couldn't help but stare, thinking how lucky I was that I got to see this soft side of him that no one else did.

After Loki left, I got changed into an Asgardian gown and pleated my hair to keep it out of my face. I headed down to the banquet hall, where I suddenly remembered that no one really knew I was back yet. Sif turned around to meet my eyes and her eyes widened. 'Odin' saw me from across the dining hall and announced my arrival.

"I'd like to give a warm welcome back to Sigyn, who fought for Asgard and fought for Frigga. Sigyn has returned indefinitely."

The Asgardian elites clapped for my return, and I shyly curtseyed before making my way over to Sif. I was met with a warm embrace.

"Sigyn, I was worried sick about you. After you disappeared from Asgard I wasn't sure if I'd see you again. I'm glad you're safe." She smiled, yet there was pity in her expression. I was confused, before remembering that Loki is supposed to be dead. I bit my lip and smiled back.

"Thank you Sif. I find it difficult to celebrate right now."

"I know my love. I am sorry." She whispered, before settling into her breakfast.

That was when my eyes flicked up to meet an old familiar pair. My heart sunk. Hugo? The last time I saw Hugo, I was heartbroken at the sudden death of Frigga, screaming at him for not telling me he joined the guard. He was standing on patrol, staring at me with wide eyes. Tears were welling up. He put his head down. I sighed, knowing what I had to do.

While the rest of the Asgardians ate breakfast, I pulled Hugo outside the dining hall to talk to him.

"Hey." I said awkwardly. He didn't say anything, instead just pulling me into a big hug.

"I missed you so much. I'm so sorry." I hugged him back tightly.

"I'm sorry for shouting at you."

"Don't be. I'm sorry for not telling you I joined the guard and that I was home. I'm sorry about Loki sis. He really loved you." My stomach knotted. I knew Loki was alive and well, but it hurt to even think of a world where he was dead.

"I need to go back and finish breakfast. Talk later." I broke the hug and smiled weakly, wiping a tear from my eye.

---

The next few months seemed like a bit of a blur, yet I don't think I've ever been happier. Although Loki and I's relationship had to be kept on the down low, I didn't mind being private, I actually preferred it. Loki would serve as 'Odin' throughout the day, and then at the end of the day he'd come back to our chambers and be himself again. Only Eir and I knew who 'Odin' really was. I was in my prime.

One sunny morning, I woke up to Loki smiling at me.

"Morning princess."

"Morning my king." I smirked, leaning forward and placing a kiss on his lips.

"I have a surprise for you."

"A surprise?"

"Yes. Go change." I did as he asked, getting out of bed (begrudgingly) and getting changed into a light flowy gown. I pleated my hair and walked over to the golden vase standing at the door of the balcony, filled with fresh water. I cupped it in my hands, rinsing my face. I felt Loki come up behind me, his hands resting gently on my hips and spinning me around.

"So give me a hint to this surprise then." I teased. He shook his head.

"Nope."

I rolled my eyes and turned back around, continuing to wash my face. I felt his hands leave my hips and heard him walk over to the bed. I looked around to see Odin standing at my bed. I jumped, letting out a tiny squeal. He laughed.

"It's still me darling."

"I know, sorry, I'm still not fully used to it."

"Meet me in the back gardens." He said, walking out of the room. I raised an eyebrow and shrugged, heading out shortly after him.

---

I had decided to surprise (y/n) today with a horse ride. I know she loved the feeling of flying on the back of a stallion and she hadn't done in ages, so I emptied out the back gardens so we could ride together freely. I changed form back into myself and waited patiently for (y/n) to arrive. I had two horses with me, my large black stallion Bucephalus nudging me, eager to go. I also had a large white stallion, Artax, which (y/n) could ride. I ran my hand along Bucephalus' muzzle and around his ears, smiling gently. He nudged me again playfully, dancing around, his excitement radiating. I heard a gasp behind me.

"Loki?"

I turned around to see (y/n) and grinned.

"Surprise."

She was grinning from ear to ear. She walked up to Artax, greeting herself and letting him come to her. He gently sniffed her hand, encouraging her to pet him. She ran her hand along his neck, tracing up his back muscles. Artax stood calmly, unlike Bucephalus who was rearing to go. I pulled myself up onto the black stallions back and he was off in seconds. I heard (y/n) laughing behind me as I went flying. I stopped at the edge of the garden which opened into an orchard and looked round to see (y/n) and Artax come flying up behind me and into the orchard. I took on the challenge and chased after them.

The orchard opened back up again to a beautiful waterfall. We stood at the bottom, looking up at its magnificence, a rainbow reflecting off of the water droplets. (y/n) jumped off Artax and sat down on the grass at the foot of the lake looking onto the waterfall, sitting with her feet in the water. I smiled gently, my heart swelling with love, watching her fingers curl around the grass as she leaned back on her arms and took in the Asgardian sun. She had a... special kind of glow to her. A unique one I had never noticed before. All I knew in that moment was love for her.
