The adoption process went by in a flash and by the time you could find out what happened next, Bokuto was standing in front of his huge mansion.
He had finally remembered something.
Something he had been forgetting for 2 weeks.
He shared his house. With 3 other people. His teammates.
"Ah...shit" He chuckled under his breath "well they wouldn't mind anyway" He shrugged as his gaze shifted to the little girl in front of him.
"So... you like the house?" He asked as she turned back to him. "This is where you'll live! Your house" he explained with large exaggerations.
Again, she just nodded and walked closer to him.
They seemed to get close quite fast, yeah. But there were still the facts that.
1) He had only heard her speak once.
2) she didn't like to engage in physical contact which really contrasted Bokuto, who loved hugs.
And 3) He could never tell what she wanted or how she felt. It was always that "😐" or the occasional "🙂" if he did something to amuse her.
"Uh never mind let's just go in" He said hoisting her up "let's get you all settled in your new home"
The house was big. Not too big....but big. It'd take sometime for her to get used to her surroundings.
"And I already toddler-proofed the house for your safety because I'm super responsible" He nodded to himself.
"Hey.. are you hungry?" He asked the girl "you probably are. It was a long drive"
She nodded twice and he guided her into the kitchen before setting her down on the highstool he bought a few days before.
"Okay!" He started "what do you feed a 3 year old?"
After a long adult thought, Bokuto decided to call his older sister who happened to have a son (Y/n)'s age.
"Hey Kou~" She chirped into the phone. "How's (Y/n)? Is she home now?"
"Yeah actually- I wanted to make her lunch and-"
"wanted to make her " She asked, dumbfounded.

"Um yeah. As her dad I have to make her proper meals!" He explained.
"But you can't cook" she whispered.
"..."
"..."
".."
"Koutaro."
"But I wanna make her lunch~!" He whined.
"Alright then make her lunch!"
"But you just said I can't cook!"
"Because you can't!"
"You know what- how about you make her something light and easy." She suggested "a sandwich, maybe? With eggs? Or mayo"
"Oh yeah" he nodded "I'll ask Akaashi"
"Wh- then why did you-"
"Bye! Give Tamaki a kiss for me"
"Ko-"
Koutaro's sister huffed in anger. Her little brother always seemed to do this, she began to wonder if Akaashi was her replacement.
"Bokuto, Hello" He answered "is your shoulder alri-"
"Great! I have a question" he stated.
"Oh...well shoot."
"What do you think I should give a 3 year old to eat" He asked, pulling out some bread and other ingredients from the fridge with his left hand.
"Well. Children that age are sometimes picky so just go with something plain like rice or-"
"Rice? I can make that. Got it!" He nodded.
"Uh yeah" Akaashi chuckled at his friends usual bubbly attitude. "So are you cooking for Tamaki or Anzu?" He asked naming the children.
Akaashi knew the names of Bokuto's sister's children.
"Huh? Oh not them I'm actually cooking for (Y/n)" he commented.
"Oh cool is that another niece?"
"Nope" he shook his head, popping the 'p' "she's my daughter" he stated.
"Wha-"
"Okay bye!" Bokuto hummed before hanging up.
"Okay! No more phone. You've got all my attention" he told the girl as he turned his phone off and dropped it in front of her.
"So.. we got rice..bread...lettuce, because I'm a healthy dad with healthy choices. Mayo and...spam, because I love spam and you should to" he said to her.
"Wanna help me make lunch?" He asked and she nodded again.
He set her down on the kitchen counter.
"Okay so this is rice I had this morning..." He mumbled to himself "let's uh...let's wrap it in lettuce" at this point, dude was just winging the whole lunch making process.

"Here you can mix it with your hands" he said giving her a small bowl with rice and mayonnaise.
"I'll fry the spam"
A few moments later, they were assembling their sandwiches.
"Here (Y/n) you can put your spam here...and the rice...and perfect!" He clapped for her gaining him a small smile on her face.
"Okay. Let's try it"
They both brought the weird combination to their mouths and took a bite. Surprisingly...it was good.
"Is it good?!? You like it!?" He asked her.
She nodded furiously before munching down on her sandwich.
"Great! Now let's go watch a movie"
"Wanna cuddle?"
She shook her head and sat on the opposite side of the couch. Ouch.

They whole day went by in a flash and it was already evening.
Currently, (Y/n) was regretting following this man into the room he took her to.
She knew what was happening next and would soon dread his next words.
"Bath time~" he sang closing the door behind him as he moved closer to the girl.
She ran to the corner and shook her head.
"Oh come on it's 11pm! You're not supposed to be up" he whined. "Please?" He begged as she made whiny noises still shaking her head.
"How about a nice bubble bath huh? It'll be fun" he negotiated but it just wasn't working.
So he decided to go on Semi-strict parenting mode.
He managed to get her clothes off and she began crying.
"Oh come on~ it's gonna be quick! Please stop crying" he whined.
The scars all over her skin were still very visible, they weren't as fresh but they were still there, along with some bruised skin that had darkened.
"It'll be 2 minutes okay? Just a little scrub" He bargained. Putting her in the bathtub. (Y/n) was full-on crying and he just didn't understand why.
Some time later, they were out of the washroom and in their pajamas. She had taken a bath yes, but at what cost you ask?
Bokuto had to take her to the shower instead and she kept clinging to him. Which got him and his clothes soaked and then she got a little bit fussy while he was taking his shower.
The toddler was all tucked into her bed.
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay here?" He asked and she shook her head.
"So mature" he sighed as an imaginary tear rolled down his face.
He left the room soon after tucking her in.
(Y/n) couldn't sleep, she was in a new environnment and couldn't grasp whether she should trust Bokuto.
This new nice guy had popped into her life declaring himself as her father when the only "father" she had known was evil and abusive.
She feared trusting him. And this was worse because Bokuto was twice the size of her mother's boyfriend.
He could end her life if he wanted to.
She was afraid.
✯¸.•'*¨'*•✿ ✿•*'¨*'•.¸✯
He was well aware of the conditions she was brought up in so he wasn't sure if it was he best idea to leave her alone
But she also made it clear to him that she didn't want him around her.
The internal debate only seemed to get louder and louder.
He decided to listen to the louder voice and get up and check on her.
Just a peek. He whispered
He opened his bedroom door and was met with the girl herself standing at his door.
"Hey~ what's- why aren't you asleep"
"Scared?"
She nodded sheepishly, fumbling with her pajama top.
"Okay come on in" he said opening the door.
Before one could say "Deeznuts" she was already comfortable in bed. It made him happy that she at least tried to meet him for comfort.
He let out a sigh of relief as he laid down beside her "hey~ wanna cuddl-"
She brought her small palm to his face and pushed on it slightly signifying she didn't want to.
"Got it. Independent toddler. Got it" he said to himself.
"Goodnight Sweetie" he exhaled once more before they both fell asleep.

My name is Lixon Rayver, and I am a published young author.I came to a point where I struggled to proceed to the second volume of my novel [The Legends of Udeville]. One night, I made an unintentional wish: "Rather than just imagining things, I think it would be better if I just live with my created characters and places so it would be easy for me to think of how my story would develop." Well...I think you can guess what happened next.----- God? I'm not sure. I don't think that I am either. But one thing that I can tell you, in this world, I have absolute authority. -Lixon Rayver
