She looked around collecting her thoughts as the shuffling on the opposite side of the room began catch her attention.
The slim woman was pushing some of the junk around, she seemed to be looking for something frantically almost as though she was scared.
(Y/n) turned to her left and shook the person beside her.
"Nii-Chan" she whispered almost inaudibly "Mama came back" she whispered shaking him gently.
She frowned slightly. He hadn't answered her in days and his body had gotten much more cold.
she didn't understand why. Was he mad at her?
Did she do something wrong?
Nevertheless she just wanted her brother to answer her.
Whenever their mother came in, it was always tense.
She hugged his cold body in hopes that he'd atleast comfort her and tell her not to be scared.
"Fuck! We don't have time- Gather as much as you can!" A deeper voice echoed through the room from outside.
It was Kai, her mother's boyfriend. A shiver ran down her spine as she recognized the voice.
(Y/n) feared a lot of things, but this man was at the top of the list.
His dark eyes scanned the room until they locked onto her glassy (e/c) ones. She flinched before quickly ducking her head under her brother's arm.
It was obvious he spotted her but she just felt the urge to hide.
"What? Come on we have to hurry!" Her mom yelled.
"You still haven't taken care of that shit?" He asked ponting at the little boy.
"I don't know where to hid-"
"I don't care about that! It's starting to smell- take it away" He argued.
"Well where do i keep him?" She asked
"Crap- just- Here. Get me a rug" He groaned stomping over to the pair.
With full force he dragged the boy from his sister's grasp and hauled him over his shoulder with easy.
She gasped and turned to the man towering over her.

"Give him back" she whined making grabby hands at him.
He scoffed and walked away to the woman who set a rug on the damp floor.
(Y/n) was weak, but still she used the little energy she had to stand up and chase after him.
Kai dropped her brother carelessly onto the rug making her gasp in shock, the way his bones cracked as his limp figure hit the ground.
She didn't understand much of what was going on but she knew that would have hurt him.
She dashed past the man over to her brother's side shaking him as she sobbed. "It's okay- wake up!"
"Control your kid! I don't have time for this!" Kai roared at his girlfriend.
"What do we do with her? Should we bring her along!?"
"I don't know- just- clean her up. I don't want that smell in my car" Kai said pointing at the girl.
"Okay" the woman nodded.
Both adults then began to roll up the little boy in the rug they brought.
"Mama!" She shrieked, what were they doing to her brother!?
In attempts to get the girl to be quiet. Kai picked up the nearest object. Which happened to be an old TV remote.
Her head whipped to the right as the impact of the object sent her stumbling backwards.
She remained on the floor as both adults continued committing heinous crimes.
All she could think of was her brother. She hoped he was doing fine.
He was the main victim of both adults and now that Kai had dropped him from that height she knew something had happened to him. He didn't even react.
The poor girl didn't even know he had passed away long before from starvation.
Dots began to fill her vison as she felt herself slowly slip out of consciousness.
It had been like that for a few days, she hadn't eaten a decent in a long time. It was a miracle that she was still breathing.

"Bokuto." Akaashi sighed "you cannot keep calling me like this while I'm at work."
"Huh!? But you're my bestfriend!" He whined.
"I understand that, but I'm at an office and-"
"If not you who would i call my own?!" Bokuto started "what would i do without you!?"
Akaashi sighed once again. Here we go again..
"I can't practice! I can't cook- i can't even wipe my ass!" The Heterochromic malencontinued.
"Uh- that's too-"
"All because of this stupid injury!"
Akaashi Keiji's current concern was the fact that his best friend Bokuto Koutaro would not stop calling him every 5 minutes.
On a norm, Bokuto always called and frankly Akaashi didn't seem to mind.
What Akaashi did not like was that he called during work hours, he began to worry that his colleagues found him unprofessional.
And all this was caused by a little accident causing Bokuto to tear his rotator cuff during a heated match.
Luckily, it wasn't a major tear his teammates won the match.
He was just a little blue that he couldn't play with them.
"Perhaps you can speak to your manager about some things you can do." Akaashi suggested.
"Mayu? She'd probably tell me to drink some soup and rest!" He retorted.
"And what's wrong with drinking soup and resting?" Akaashi huffed.
"Everything! It's boring! I just wanna-"
"I apologise, my department manager is walking in. Goodbye" Akaashi said frantically before hanging up.
"Aww.." Bokuto pouted, staring at his screen.
He sighed getting up from the couch he lounged on.
Emo mode.
Nothing was the same anymore.
He just wanted to play Volleyball.
Everyone told him he was overreacting but they just didn't get it.
Well yes, he overreacting since he just needs to rest his shoulder for a month.
His phone rang again. Speaking of the devil, it was His Manager calling.
"Hello?"
"Hey Bokuto! How's your shoulder?"
"Useless" he sighed.
"Uh... anyway. I have important news for you" she explained.
"What? I get to play volleyball!?!?"
"Well no..but it is something that can get you a little bit active."
"Like what?" he asked.
"Charity!"
"...so...no volleyball"
"Well no. But- Sunnywell is in partnership with MSBY and it'd be really nice to give back to-"
"Wait- the Adoption Fostercare home thingy?" Bokuto gasped "i get to play with little kids!?"
"Um- actually we were just going to donate and-"
"So.. no playing.."
"No." Mayu replied.
"Then i don't wanna" he huffed.
"What!? It's a good deal! It's charity- we dona-"
"So? We can donate to any one we want. Let me tell you what those children need" He started "they need a strong amazing ace! One that can teach them how to play VOLLEYBALL"
"Bokuto you're going off topic."
"No ball. No Bokuto" He haggled.
"Tch when did you become so troublesome" Mayu chuckled.
"So do we have a deal?"
"I guess it wouldn't be a bad headline. MSBY ACE BOKUTO INTRODUCES LITTLE CHILDREN INTO THE WORLD OF VOLLEYBALL"
"Exactly! It's a win-win! I get to play with kids and you get whatever it is."
"I get my salary"
"Oh."
"Yeah." She smiled "I gotta go. Hinata just spiked a Ball at Omi's head just now."
"Oh! Tell them i said Hey hey hey~"
"That's so cringey my guy.."
"Shutupmycatchphraseisnotcringeygoodbye"

"So they'll be fleeing soon" Daichi sighed. "Then, we must be quick."
"Yeah. I'll get a squad ready. Good job, you'll surely get that promotion in no time" she smiled betore leaving.
Daichi sighed massaging his temples. He was happy they were on the right track.
But there was a part of him that wished his theories were wrong. He knew what would come next and dreaded the outcome.
"Either those children are dead, or they've grown in the worst possible environment" He mumbled, getting up from his chair.

Eight
His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year old body on another world. The first book focuses on Eight's survival on a dangerous new world. If you're a fan of Gary Paulsen's Hatchet, you'll enjoy it. The story is one of discovery, bushcraft, and finding one's way. Note that, while this is very much LitRPG, progression is slow, and Eight spends much of the first book alone. The second book recounts what happens when Eight and friends head east to the village of Voorhei. Expect a blend of fantasy adventure, ghost story, cozy mystery, and family drama. Books one and two make a complete story, while book 3 has just gotten underway.
