Destiny woke up and groaned from her headache. She stumbled downstairs in search of ibuprofen. The human stopped standing in front of the
There was a harsh snowstorm outside. Destiny could only see so far before it faded into a soft grey. She could only pray that her fiance came home for her. Something was wrong. Terribly so.
She called Charlie and talked to him for a bit. Her mind was racing. They talked about nothing and he questioned why she wasn't on the camping trip. Destiny didn't want to tell him that vampires were after his daughter again and instead told him that she was sick.
"I can get you some soup if you need it." Charlie offered.
"No, I'm fine. It's a snow storm and I don't want you in the ice and snow."
"Damn, I didn't even realize. No work today for me." Charile said with a laugh. Destiny sighed and grabbed the bottle of pills from her fridge and noticed a small box fall from behind it.
"Hey, lemme call you back." Destiny said pulling her phone from her shoulder.
"Ok, bye."
"Bye." She bent down and opened it to see her old stash of cigarettes and pills.

December 15, 2001
Destiny sat in front of him with a long sleeve shirt in the humid summer weather. Her brother figure as he sat with pills and a bag of weed in front of him. A box of cigarettes in hand.
"Talk to me." He demanded.
Destiny's face was hot with embarrassment and her heart pounded with fear. She wanted to cry because she could get arrested by her own brother figure. Her ex crush.
"I started smoking in the 8th grade. It was a freak accident and I never did it again. Lung cancer is in my genetics and when I was diagnosed, my mother found out and called me a drug addict. She wasn't sympathetic."

Charlie looked at her so long that her eyes began to blur. She blinked and it seemed like her tears flooded over like an ocean.
"My mom was really strict... I would run away and smoke constantly. I wanted to die quicker since she didn't care. Religion, you know." Destiny smiled lying smoothly through her teeth.
"Destiny, I'm not stupid. I've seen your parents and they are atheists. Your father owns a buisness and your mother's job is unknown. Don't lie to me." He said simply leaning back.
She felt like vomiting as she looked around for an escape.
"So dramatic." Destiny flinched at the sickening voice.
"Hold her down. Let me teach this bitch a lesson." She shook her head as the voices echoed ringing in her head.
"Charlie, I'm not lying." She pleaded trying to hold him.
Charlie got up and looked at her firmly "When you want to tell me the truth, I'll be here. But you're burning this." He pushed the drugs into her arms.
-------
Destiny watched as the plastic burned, shriveling and melting.
"You did a good thing." Charlie said patting her back. Destiny swung at him and he caught her fist.
"Shut up. I hate your stupid face! I wish I never met you!" She lashed out.
Charlie knew she didn't mean it. It was all there.
The symptoms of....
--------
"I might as well have faith in him." She muttered making and drinking a hot chocolate. "And myself..."
------
The next morning, Destiny saw a silver wolf pass by her window showing that the battle had started. He sniffed agained the glass door and she waved. It was still storming. Something had changed.
That was a few hours before she noticed black coats watching in the distance. She opened the door in curiousity peeking out. There were 4 gathered, walking closer. She was mesmerized despite every instinct telling her to lock the door.

"Human." A little girl called out taking off her hood to reveal her crimson colored eyes.
"Careful, Jane. Carlisle is not a very forgiving person when you mess with the ones he loves." Alec cautioned.
"Then this one is his mate." She stated. Destiny hid her fully loaded .50 cal staring them down. She backed away slightly into her house.
"Jane, The fighting will end soon."
"Yes. Let us go and inform Master Caius." Jane whispered before they all sped off.
Destiny fell to her knees shaking like a leaf. 4 strong vampires against her were not the odds that she liked.
The tears came and wouldn't stop until the sun went down. Until he came back to her.
"Destiny? I'v- Destiny, what's wrong?" He rushed to her side. Edward stood at the doorway.
"The Volturi came here before seeing us." He informed him.
"Did they hurt you?!" Carlisle asked. Destiny shook her head violently.
"T-T-They said tha- They were gonna tell Caius." Edward finished for her. She nodded sucking in a breath.
"Then let them. I will see Caius myself." Carlisle growled holding her tightly. Edward closed the patio door that had been open for a while. The chill barely fazed the vampires.
"Carlisle, Hold me." She commanded strongly through her shaking. He nodded tightening his hold and leading her upstairs.
"Jacob's was the only injury that stayed after the battle." Carlisle filled her in. Destiny sighed in his arms shivering. "Are you cold?"
"Yes..." She gasped "Just, touch me."
"But, I'm cold."
"Does it look like I'm in the mood to give a fuck." She retorted.
"There's my feisty mate." He whispered nipping her neck.
"Carlisle." She sighed in pleasure.
"I love you." He muttered underneath her earlobe.
----
Rosalie kept watched over them. She found herself protective over her new mother. She couldn't be upset with her because she was actually thinking it over unlike the Swan girl. She feared becoming a monster but was willing to take a moment and reflect on the sacrifice.
She turned to see Emmett smirking beside her.
"I feel like our mother will be a beautiful newborn. A rose with thorns."
"Shut up." Rosalie snapped playfully punching his shoulder.
Alice joined them and grinned brightly. "I told you Edward would propose."
"Too early. You spoiled it." Emmett whined.
Alice pouted but leaned on Jasper, who appeared at her side.
"May I ask why everyone except Edward and Esme are in my bushes." Destiny asked from her window.
"No." Rose yelled back.
"I'm still going to ask." Destiny yelled.
Emmett jumped up grabbing the rim of the window and scaring the shit out of her.
"Emmett!" She screamed attempting to catch everything on the way down. Carlisle chuckled catching her.
"Still hate you!" She yelled at Emmett.
"Love you, too, Snow white." Emmett stuck his tongue out
-----
The vampires didn't notice the snowy white fur shining in the moonlight.
Leah shifted back and watched safely from behind treaty lines. What was it about this leech lover had her so entranced?
She jumped down and ran away into the darkness of the night.

I'm a Veteran Adventurer in a World without Healing Magic.
It's a fantasy world just like any other, orcs, elves, monsters, adventurer's guilds... Just one catch, though: there's no such thing as healing magic. All you can rely on are mundane medical procedures to help you get back on your feet. And those don't come cheap! You can probably guess that injuries that in other worlds would be minor are rather costly in one where the priest class doesn't exist. What kind of dungeoneering community springs up in an atmosphere where a simple cut can mean lethal infection? How do dungeon crawlers find workarounds when conventional combat proves too dangerous? A veteran warrior who senses his time is near puts to pen a final record, a shocking tell-all about his adventuring career...
