《King's Corp》Chapter 15

"Welcome sir," the flight attendant says as she greets the two men with a warm smile.
Taehyung nods in acknowledgement and Jungkook smiles at her before muttering a small, "hello."
Taehyung sits down on his chair and eyes the younger who looks around frantically, looking as giddy as ever.
"First time on a private jet, I assume?" Taehyung asks while adjusting his tie.
Jungkook nods, "yeah." He looks around with wide eyes as he grazes his hand over his seat.
"There's a foot massage," Taehyung says while pointing downwards.
Jungkook gasps, "really?!" He squeaks, sounding ever so excited.
Taehyung clenches his jaw as he observes the boy, finding his jittery state to be ever so adorable. He leans in closer towards him and stares straight into his big doe eyes, causing the younger to freeze and look at him, alarmed.
Taehyung grabs the younger's seatbelt and then clicks it secure before leaning back and gently flicking his nose. "We're going to take off soon, bun."
Jungkook blushes and looks down at his lap. "O-Oh, thanks."
Soon the flight takes off, lifting off from the ground and into the sky above. Taehyung turns towards the small window and watches as the grey clouds shrink into a miniature picture. Above the gloominess residing on the land below, clear skies and sunshine greets the man. A shy golden beam washes over Taehyung's face, illuminating his red lips that are pulled up into the gentlest of smiles.
Taehyung has always loved flying. To him it feels like a breath of fresh air, an escape from the harsh reality lurking on the concrete grounds below. Being far from home usually makes others anxious but Taehyung finds comfort in the distance. For Taehyung, distance thins the burden of power and the memory of death that resides too close to home.
~
Jungkook's eyes glitter in fascination as he stares at the large chandelier dangling from the ceiling of the hotel room. He runs his hands over the chair and exhales out a small breath as he waits for his boss to finish his phone call.
"Okay hyung, I got it. Yes yes I will make sure they sign the deal. What do you take me for? A child?"
Jungkook looks up at his boss who stands meters away from him with a hand on his hip.
"Yes Hyung, I brought my tablets... It's just for a week, calm dow- okay okay. Jesus."
His boss then walks up closer to him and gestures for him to write down some things. Jungkook grabs out his notepad and waits for Taehyung to continue speaking.
"Okay wait, I'll put you on speaker so Jungkook can write it down," Taehyung says before placing the phone next to Jungkook.
"Uh, hey Jungkook, it's Namjoon," the man says through the phone. Jungkook unconsciously waves at the phone before he realises that the other can't see him.
"Hello, Mr Namjoon," he says timidly. Taehyung snorts from the corner, making Jungkook turn to him with furrowed brows.
Namjoon chuckles through the phone. "God, this kid. How many times do I have to tell you, just call me Namjoon. Or you can call me Hyung like Taehyungie does."
Jungkook's eyes widen in surprise. Taehyungie? Namjoon calls his big intimidating boss Taehyungie?! Jungkook bites his lip to hold back his laugh as he watches his boss choke on his drink. "Hyung-"
"-Anyways, Jungkook," Namjoon speaks, interrupting his brother. "As you know you have a meeting today and you have to try sign a client named Madam Delise. She owns the well known clothing company, Paris Affairs and we want to try get her to promote our new clothing line." Jungkook nods as he scribbles notes down onto his notepad.

"She's a hard client to get because she has one of the biggest influences on the fashion industry but getting a deal with her will really be beneficial for King's corps, okay? Just do whatever it takes."
Jungkook gulps, feeling rather anxious at the thought of speaking in front of such an important person. "Okay..." he hesitates. "Okay Hyung."
Taehyung shoots up from his seat, eyes wide. "Heyy! How come you call him hyung but not me-"
"God Tae, stop whining. Anyways, good luck Kook, I believe you can do this."
Jungkook exhales a shaky breath, "t-thank you."
The call then ends and Jungkook looks up to see Taehyung, sitting on the seat with his arms crossed. "He calls you kook and you call him Hyung? Seems like you two are pretty close, huh?" He scoffs.
Jungkook furrows his brows at his bosses behaviour. "We've talked a few times around the building but that's about it."
Taehyung huffs out a breath like a child. "Wow, so you barely know him and call him hyung but after all that we went through, you still call me SiR."
Jungkook tilts his head, utterly confused by the man. What on earth is going on? " I mean, I can call you hyung if you want me to, sir."
Taehyung leans back on the sofa, both of his brows raised, "no no, I don't want to force you to do anything," he says, sounding a bit childish.
Jungkook smiles a little, finding this childlike side of his boss rather endearing. "Well since you seemed rather upset about it, I think it's best if I do...Hyung," the younger says softly, finding the the man's reaction ever so amusing.
Taehyung's head shoots up and he stares at the boy with wide eyes. He then settles his feet onto the ground and slowly starts walking over towards the younger. The boy cowers, feeling intimidated by his bosses lurking presence. Taehyung sets his hands on either side of the couch alongside Jungkook's head before he leans in closer to the boy.
"I don't think you know what you're doing, bun," he whispers while staring into the younger's eyes. Jungkook shivers and sudden flashbacks of what they did yesterday storm through his head. He blushes a vibrant hue of red and ducks his head to avoid the older's gaze.
Taehyung chuckles seeing the boy's timid actions and then plops himself next to him. "You ready for the meeting?" he asks, changing the subject. Jungkook hesitantly raises his head and exhales a shaky breath.
"I practiced speaking..." he says softly. "I just hope I don't mess up."
Taehyung sighs and places his arm over the frame of the chair. "Remember, speaking isn't the only problem you're going to face," he trails off, watching the younger dart his head towards him with a worried expression.
"What do you mean?" the smaller asks, eyebrows furrowed.
Taehyung looks up at the chandelier as he runs his hand through his hair. His eyes trail over the sharp crystals glistening under the light, exuding this luxurious beauty that's deceivingly pleasant to stare at.
"People are manipulative, bun. Don't let their facade trick you. They'll try toy with your head to get their way but don't be their puppet," He uses his finger to lift the younger's chin so that those doe eyes stare directly at him. "Today, you're in charge there. Don't make them let you think otherwise."

Jungkook bites his lips and then nods slowly. "O-Okay," he mutters, feeling anxious because of Taehyung's serious tone. He then stands up hastily, "I'll go get ready," he says. He starts walking towards his seperate room but then quickly turns back towards Taehyung.
"I got this," he squeaks out with a little nod before once again turning around and trotting away.
In any other situation Taehyung would have found the other's actions ever so endearing but right now, the worry brewing in his gut prevents him from having any other thoughts.
"I really hope you do," he breathes out while closing his eyes.
~
"Oh god, calm down, I was just kidding," Taehyung says, internally cursing himself for scaring the boy.
"No no what if...oh my god, I don't know any French. W-What if I really do have to speak in French! I can't do that!"
Taehyung groans and leans back on the elevator that is currently ascending. "No, you won't. They all speak English and the meeting will be in English. Trust me, I've done this before."
Jungkook ignores his bosses reassuring words and taps at his phone.
"Bonjour, comment ça va?" The lady on google translate announces through his phone.
"Bonjour, comment ça va..." Jungkook repeats, his words sounding a bit wobbly.
"That won't even be impo... nevermind," Taehyung says with a sigh as he rubs his temple.
Jungkook then turns to Taehyung with big pleading eyes, making the older sigh once again.
"What?" Taehyung asks, trying to sound firm but failing to do so with those big black eyes staring at him.
"Can you...can you please teach me how to say...."
"...Bun," Taehyung says firmly as he suddenly pushes the boy against the wall of the elevator. Jungkook gulps, eyes widening. "You will be fine," he assures. His eyes then flicker onto the younger's pink lips and he sighs. Being unable to resist, he dips down and quickly pecks him, causing Jungkook to gasp out in surprise.
Taehyung smirks at the boy's reaction and moves away as the elevator doors open. "Now come on, go out there and show them what you've got."
Jungkook nods, feeling flustered. "Y-Yes sir."
~
Jungkook feels his heart palpitate as he stares into the eyes of the people in front of him. There, sitting across from him on the long table is some of the most influential business people known to be. He can't help but notice how they all have a certain style, one that carries elegance laced with the strong scent of dominance. He gulps and exhales a small breathe before he finally speaks up.
"Good evening," he starts, attempting to look as relaxed as possible. His eyes quickly flicker over to Taehyung who casually sits on his chair, seeming unaffected by the situation.
"Good evening," a woman chimes with a gentle smile. Jungkook is taken aback by the gesture. He is so used to being greeted with cold glares and stiff smiles that the rather warm welcome surprises him.
Feeling a lot less tense, Jungkook begins his presentation. He starts off by introducing their clothing line and is again surprised by how the three people listen to him intently. He remembers how last time he was interrupted multiple times to the point he could barely speak.
"We want to avoid fast fashion when it comes to our clothing so we opted for the most environmentally friendly option," Jungkook says while pointing at the smart board.
"Mr...Mr Jeon, is it?" the lady who greeted him speaks up, her words weighed with a thick french accent. Jungkook nods and waits for her to continue speaking.
"Opting for an environmentally friendly option is great but what about profit? Wouldn't producing cheaper products for a higher manufacturing cost result in a loss of profit?" She asks while leaning over the table.
Jungkook nods at her question and moves to the next slide. "Since pro-environmental choices are important to most consumers now, we are hoping to gain a greater customer base which would balance the high manufacturing costs."
The woman tilts her head, "but that's an assumption?"
Jungkook gulps slightly and shakes his head. "Not exactly, we have done surveys and found that many people are excited..."
"...Mr Jeon," she says while standing up. She slowly walks over towards the younger and takes hold of the sample clothing. "People say a lot of things on surveys that they don't really mean. It's called socially desirable answers. Tell me, how can you be certain that the products you are selling won't fail? Because if they do that will result in billions of dollars of loss and would put a dent to my company name. We don't want the now, do we?" She saying while stroking the fabric in her hands.
Despite the freezing temperatures, sweat runs down Jungkook's back as he listens to her speak. He slightly clears his throat and clenches his fist, trying to get a hold of himself again. "Well, Madam Delise," he pauses and carefully smiles at the women. "We have to take a risk for every product we put out there and same goes for this. It may seem risky but our clothing line could also be very successful."
The woman stares at him for a second before chuckling. "Well you must know, Mr Jeon, I'm not one to take senseless risks. I'm sure your product is wonderful but I'm not willing to gamble my companies name for that."
Jungkook's eyes widen at her words as he looks at her almost helplessly. No no this can't be happening. He needs her to sign this deal.
"Madame De-"
"Don't bother wasting your breath kid, I already came to my decision which is to decline your offer." The women smiles at him once again, this time the warmth in the action has dissolved into a mere courteous gesture that seems almost mocking. She looks towards the other two men who seem to be her assistants and then starts walking back towards her chair.
Jungkook hangs his head pathetically, feeling helpless as he doesn't know how to change the situation.
"But..." the woman says, pausing in her steps. She turns back to face the boy who shoots his head up to look at her with desperate eyes. She smiles which now makes her resemble a fox. Cunning.
"I have a proposition for you, Mr Jeon."
Jungkook's eyes widen and he nods his head. He doesn't care what it is, he knows he has to take it. She slowly walks back to him until she stands directly in front of him.
Taehyung watches the scene unfold silently, his eyes slightly narrowed as he senses the deceit lurking in the woman's midnight eyes.
"I will accept your company's deal and start promoting your clothing line but in exchange, I need a favour from you."
Jungkook almost beams in excitement at her words and he nods, "Yes, I'm sure we can help you with any-"
"I want you to model for me," she cuts him off. She then brings her manicured finger towards his chest and begins to trace the pattern on his tie. "More specifically," she starts, eyes glinting as she smirks up at him. "I want you to do a nude photoshoot for me."
Jungkook feels likes his breath gets knocked out of him at her words. "W-What?" He asks, stepping away from her lingering touch.
"You see, Mr Jeon, I have been searching for the perfect model to partake in my modelling for months now but no-one has has been perfect enough to fit my ideals. But you..." she continues as she slowly rakes her eyes over his body. "You are perfect. You're well sculpted and have a pretty face. And along with that, you look so...exotic. I don't have many asian models on my team. You would be perfect."
Jungkook feels bare under her penetrating gaze. Her eyes strip him down, slowly, mischief behind the guarded orbs. He picks at a string on his suit and shuffles in his spot, feeling trapped between the state of his own discomfort and the fate of the company.
"I-I have never done modelling before, let alone nude modelling , so I...I'm not sure if I would be fit for the job."
Madam Delise scoffs, "nonsense." She walks closer to him once again and grips his face in her hands. Jungkook flinches at the contact and stares at her with shaking eyes. "We can easily whip you into shape with a few days of training, your face and body is already set for the job," she says while tilting his head from side to side and inspecting him.
Jungkook's heart beat accelerates as he feels like he's backed into a corner. If he rejects the offer, the company will lose a billion dollar deal. If he accepts it...he would be forced to do something so out of his comfort zone.
"So what do you say? All you have to do is say yes," she steps back from him and stares at him expectantly. "I have one of the biggest influences in the fashion industry, Mr Jeon. If you give up this offer, it will be a great loss to your company. Are you really willing to be selfish enough to say no?"
Jungkook gulps and looks down at the floor. All the eyes in the room stare at him, digging into his shaking figure for an answer. His throat closes up and he takes a shaky breath as he debates on what to do. What is he to do?
"Hurry up now, I don't have all day," the woman says while checking her nails.
Jungkook clenches his fists and looks back at her, his eyes glossy with tears. "I-I..." his breathing speeds up as he speaks, the blood pumping through his body now icy cold.
She leans in, her brows lifted up in challenge. "Mr Jeon?"
"I..." Jungkook's breath hitches. "O-Oka..."
"...ENOUGH," a voice roars out, startling all the participants in the room. Everyone glances over at Taehyung who now stands with his fists clenched against the desk. The man's eyes hold flames of fury that burn into those who dare to meet his gaze. Jungkook catches sight of the prominent vein bulging in his neck, throbbing beneath the thin walls of skin that is now tainted with an angry scarlet. Mr Kim, simply put, looks enraged.
"Jungkook, leave. Wait for me outside," the man demands.
Jungkook nods and follows his instructions, hastily exiting the meeting room into the dull hallway outside. He brings a trembling hand to brush through his hair and exhales a deep breath. Mr Kim's furious expression flashes through his face and he cowers slightly. The older must be so mad at him. He may have just lost one of the biggest deals for the company. Namjoon's words ring in his head.
Getting a deal with her will really be beneficial for King's corps, okay? Just do whatever it takes.
Jungkook rubs at his watery eyes as he internally scolds himself. Why didn't he just say yes immediately? Why didn't he put himself before the company? He feels horrible for being so selfish. Now Taehyung is going to have to face the consequences all thanks to him. Taehyung's going to hate him for losing this deal. What if he get's fired? Jungkook's head rushes with so many thoughts that he doesn't even recognise the figure approaching him until he stands right in front of him.
"S-Sir," Jungkook chokes out, hastily wiping away his tears. He doesn't want to cry in front of his boss...again. "I-I'm really sorry, I-I should have just taken the d-deal. I-I shouldn't have hesitated. I-I'm r-really sorry," Jungkook cries out.
Taehyung sighs and leans back on the wall. "Why are you crying?" he asks as he watches the younger continue to wipe his tears off his face.
"B-Because I lost t-the deal and-and I was being sel-selfish."
At that, Taehyung raises his brow at Jungkook. "You think that feeling reluctant to nude model for a random company when you have no experience to do so is being selfish?"
Jungkook looks up at the older with big glittery eyes, feeling somewhat confused by the older's question. "Y-Yes?"
Taehyung sighs once again and then gestures towards the elevator. Jungkook furrows his eyebrows and follows his boss into the elevator. Jungkook twiddles with his fingers as he watches Taehyung press the ground floor. When Taehyung turns back to him he stares at his red face for a moment, silently observing the boy who desperately tries to wipe his tears away. The older then exhales slowly and walks up to him before he brushes his thumbs under his wet eyes, wiping away the tears.
Jungkook's eyes widen at the action, wondering why Taehyung would do that if he's mad at him. The older then suddenly pulls the younger towards his chest and wraps his arms around him, holding him in an embrace.
