《RESCUED AND RISEN》Chapter 35

"So, that guy you're living with, what did you say his name was...Luke, Lucan?" Grandpa asked as we all sat down together having lunch.
"Lucas" I corrected him.
"Oh yes. He's the one you said own this suite?" He asked.
"Yes, he owns the apartment complex" I told him.
"Hmm... Impressive. So he's like a business connoisseur or something?" Uncle Marten asked me.
"You could say that. He owns quite a few business establishments; restaurants, apartment complexes etc" I told him.
"Quite an accomplished young man" grandma nodded.
"The bigger question is though, what is his relationship to you?" Grandpa asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked confused.
"Yeah, I was wondering the same thing" Grandma joined in. "Are you two involved, his he your boyfriend?"
"What!? No! Of course not!" I quickly replied almost choking on the piece of chicken I was chewing. "I told you he's just a friend"
"That's not quite convincing Amy. You live with the guy, in his apartment? While your mom also has an apartment here and he willingly offered us his penthouse suite to stay in and isn't accepting any payments?" Uncle Marten asked.
"Not to mentioned he's young..." Selena joined in.
"And super cute and hot" Sanya announced causing the others to look at her in surprise.
"What? I happened to saw him this morning when he was leaving. He is good looking"
"Trust me guys, Lucas and I are in no way involved. We are just friends" I tried convincing them.
Although that was a lie. I wouldn't consider Lucas's and I relationship one of a friendship. I was more likely a girl whose ass he happened to save more than once and got stuck with because of my knowledge of things he's involved in.
"What kind of just friendship goes like that?" Grandpa asked.
"I know we may be a bit old fashioned but we have come to terms with the way things are being done now- you know... Living together before marriage. Its okay you don't have to hide it from us dear" grandma said to me.
"Grandma, I'm being honest. Lucas and I are just friends I swear" I smiled at her "I'm afraid you guys assumed wrong. Tell them mom you know, there's nothing going on between us"
"Yeah, she's right. I don't think there is anything going on between them guys" mom said taking my side.
"See" I said to them.
"Well Lucas is a really great and considerate friend then Amy. You should keep him close" Brenda advice.
"Definitely" I said giving her a smile.
Not! Lucas is considerate that I won't go nuts and go spilling his secret out to the world. I'm a exposure threat to him and his fellow mafia group members, he still doesn't trust me and that's why he does all these things.

As much as we had hoped time would some how stopped and we'd have more time together as a family the week already ran off quickly and so my family had flew back home on Saturday. They had spent the week here in New York where we tried catching up as much as possible before they leave. We promised to keep in touch and they promised to visit again when they can or we will visit- that's if I'm ever allowed.
Its been exactly two weeks now since I've started working at the club. Though I was still nervous and scared about being around a club filled with mafia guys, I had gotten somewhat used to working here. Morgan helped me alot to get used to things here and I've also become acquainted with some of the other employees here. Even some of the men here were now familiar with my name. I've only saw Lucas here twice since I've been working here, one of those times I was the one to served him, Mr. Cavelli and a few others who were seemingly having some meeting or discussion. The second time I was serving a table and glimpse him at the other booth in the corner alongside others.

Mom had been lucky enough and gotten a job at a small restaurant that recently opened and needed some workers; bakers, chefs and cashier. It may not be much but it was good for her and the fact that she told me she wouldn't be struggling or aggravating herself much at this work, made me extremely happy for her. It was good to see her back on her feet and doing something she love- baking and cooking. Lucas was away for the weekend and I had gotten paid so I thought I may take a risk in going out with mom, and go buy a few things and do our hair. I didn't want to risk it too much so mom and I decided to leave early so that we could get back early as well. I suggested we go to the hair salon first before going shopping. Mom opted for just getting her hair washed and the ends clipped while I decided I was going to get a whole new make over.
"Honey, are you sure about this purple hair thing?" Mom asked as she watched me sitting in the other chair. "When you mentioned it I didn't think you were actually serious about it"
"Mom, I told you I wanted to try something new and bold. So why didn't you think I was serious?" I asked her.
"I understand that but purple? Why not just try out the blond instead" mom asked.
"No, the brunette to blonde is just so cliché. I want to see how the purple hair is going to look on me. I don't have to keep in that way for long if it looks crazy" I said to her.
"Alright, its your hair" mom replied.
I then sit back and allowed the hair dresser to do her thing. My hair was first bleached to blonde to get rid of the dark pigment and then the purple dye was then added to my hair. I told the hairdresser to also add a few blue highlights as well. After my hair was all dyed, washed and then blow dried, the hairdresser added some hair treatment and products before giving it some large bouncy curls. When she was finished I was honestly really surprised with the end results, I mean I didn't expect the color to fit me this well and my hair looked great.
"Uh, wow" mom said touching a piece of hair.
"What you think? You like it?" I asked her.
"Well its definitely not my style but it sure does look good on you. Honestly I'm really surprise it looks this good" mom replied.
"I love it" I said as I run my fingers through my hair as I admire the new hairdo in the mirror.
"Alright my purple headed monster ready to go?" Mom chuckled.
"Mom" I playfully frowned at her.
Mom and I didn't do a lot of shopping, we just bought a few necessities, and a couple cheap blouses, jeans and shoes. After we were finished mom and I return to the apartment. I know Lucas wasn't in the country but I was still worried he may know I went out and be furious about it. I don't understand, why Lucas still didn't trust me even when he has seen that I wasn't telling his secret to anyone or trying anything.

"Amy could you take a table for me please? I need to take a restroom break" Kyan one of the other waitresses here asked me.
"Sure, I guess" I replied.
"Oh thank you so much, its table 21, Mr. Cavelli's table" Kyan told me.

"What? Kyan I..."
"Thanks Amy I owe you" she replied quickly before disappearing.
Oh great Kyan. Sure, stuck me with the mafia boss and hide from his possible wrath, why not?
Sighing I walked over to the table with the group of men. There were seven of them there but I was surprised to see that Lucas was also apart of the group. When did he get back.
"Hi, good evening. What can I get you gentlemen?" I spoke politely like a good waitress.
"Good evening Amy, I'll just take a whiskey" Gio was the first one to speak.
"Nice hair" a dark haired guy smiled at me. "Scotch for me"
Instead of responding I just nodded and gave him a smile as I wrote the order down. I was somehow subconsciously tempted to touch my now straight hair which was in a ponytail. I wrote down the orders for the others while Lucas was the last one to speak as he stared at me intently with a serious expression making me nervous as hell.
What was he thinking now?
"Just bring me a beer" Lucas said as he continued to stare me down. "By the way, I like your hair. Your hairdresser must be one talented individual, you're going to have to introduce me to the hair salon you go sometime?"
Oh no. So that's why he was staring at me like that. He's upset that I left the apartment while he was away.
"I'll be right back with your drinks" I told them before heading back to the bar.
As I wait for the drinks I couldn't help but think about how complicated my life was. I was free but on the other hand I wasn't, being under Lucas's 'supervision' was much better than what I had to endure at Alfredo's but still, I just wish Lucas would loosen up and allow me some more freedom. As I got the drinks I brought them back over to the table. The guys were silent as I place each one drink in front of them on the table. I could feel eyes piercing through me and I was suddenly extra nervous than before and couldn't wait to leave the area. The minute I was about to walk away one of the guys called to me stopping me.
"Yes?" I replied as I took him in.
It was the same guy who had complemented my hair earlier. I've seen him here quite an amount of time before. As he smiled at me I couldn't help but thing of how cute he looked with those dimples that showed up at his cheeks.
"I need to have a word with you" he said smiling as he got up and came over to me. Holding my arm he led me away from the other's hearing.
"What? Is something wrong?" I asked worried.
"No, no nothing's wrong. Everything is just fine" he smiled.
"Then I don't understand, what did you want to talk about?" I asked him confused.
Its unusual for these guys to talk to us like this, well it is unusual for me. I didn't know it was accepted.
"I just wanted to know if I could buy you a drink or take you out sometime" he said to me "I've noticed you from you started working here, there's just something about you"
Okay what!?
I'm not sure what just happened. I'm not sure I heard him correct. Is this guy into me? Is he seriously asking me out?
"Uh... I-I don't... I" I stuttered in shock not knowing what to say.
I looked over at Lucas to see if he or the others might have heard. And by the looks I was receiving from Lucas it makes me think that he somehow heard. The warning I got came back to me. 'Dont mess things up here or it'll be the last'.
"I'm Dylan by the way" he smiled. "So what do you say?"
"I uhm... I don't think that's acceptable or allowed" I said to him glancing at Lucas once again.
"Why not? I'm talking when your shift is over, sometime when you're not working" he smiled "Come on, its just drinks. What do you have to lose?"
My life.
"I'm sorry. I don't think... I can't, sorry" I told him before walking off.
This is so weird, I've just been asked out by a guy- a guy from the mafia nonetheless. The last time a guy asked me out, it was Matthew and then look what happened to him. And now Dylan is also a part of the Cavelli mafia group, that's another potential case of this happening again. Maybe if it were under different circumstances I would have said yes, Dylan is cute no scratch that, he was handsome. But I couldn't say yes, especially since I know I wasn't exactly a free woman and even more although he was cute, I have a feeling that this would just be some brief fling or hook up and right now I was done with things like that.
I had made my way over to the bar when I heard Lucas's voice causing me to jump with fright. And not to mentioned he sounded really pissed.
"Go change and get your stuff, your shift is over!"
Oh crap.

"The girl sent that new waitress to come take our orders" Angelo said as we sat down finishing up a discussion. "Typical female, run from facing the boss but throw another under the bus"
At the mentioned of new bartender, I looked up to see Amy heading our way. She was trying her best to remain calm that much I could tell by her expression as she neared us. I hadn't seen her in three days now since I had went out if the country for the weekend on important business. I only came back tonight after taking care of some things for Gio. What surprised me was her hair, it was in a ponytail with a few strands not in at the side, but instead of her natural brown hair- her head was covered in bright purple and blue hair. When the hell did she do this? She left the apartment while I was away. Wonder what else did this little wretch do while I was gone? She was seriously working for me to kill her.
"She's so hot" Dylan replied. "The first girl is doing us- well me a favour. This Amy chick is smoking"
"She's off limits" I told him as Amy reached us.
Hi, good evening. What can I get you gentlemen?" She spoke politely.
"Good evening Amy, I'll just take a whiskey" Gio was the first one to speak.
"Nice hair" Dylan smiled at her causing me to frown. "Scotch for me"
What's his deal?
Instead of responding Amy just nodded and gave him a smile as she wrote the order down. As the others made their request I watched Amy wrote them down before looking over at me. I was the last one to speak as I stared at her intently with a serious expression making her know I was not please.
"Just bring me a beer" I said as I continued to glare at hair. "By the way, I like your hair. Your hairdresser must be one talented individual, you're going to have to introduce me to the hair salon you go sometime?"
It was weird and usually I'd say girls that dyed their hairs in such high and bold colors looked thrashy but somehow Amy made it look good.
"I'll be right back with your drinks" she said with a small smile before heading back to the bar.
"She so hot. Man look at that ass" Dylan commented causing me to be upset suddenly.
"Dylan, I said she's off limits. Stay away from her okay. She's not like most girls that you play with and toss aside. I didn't hire her here to be you or anyone else's new play toy" I told him seriously.
"Who says I'm going to play with her or toss her aside?" Dylan asked. "Lucas man, I know this girl seems different. Of course she's different and not to mentioned she's smokingly hot in a type of innocent way. How on earth is she working here?"
"She's definitely cute" Jack commented.
"You should listen to Lucas and leave the girl alone Dylan" Gio said to him.
"Why? Does he have a claim on her?" Dylan chuckled "I doubt that. Look I'm not going to play with the girl like you guys think okay"
Not long after Amy returned with the drinks and placed them in front of us before turning to leave. I kept watching her noticing how she avoided my gaze, she knew I wasn't please. Just as she was leaving Dylan called out to her.
"Yes?" Amy replied as she turned to him.
"I need to have a word with you" he said smiling as he got up and went over to her.
Holding her arm he led her away from the us so we couldn't hear. This guy was definitely working for me to put a bullet through him. I told him she's off limits and he should leave her alone yet he ignores my warning and is now touching her.
"He always go for what he wants, no matter what" Angelo said looking over to them
"And what's that? A bullet through his brain?" I asked clenching my has angrily. "I didn't bring her here for him to take advantage of"
"He's always been a bit persistent" Gio said. "Its a quality I admired in him at first but I'm afraid its also going to be what gets him killed"
"And I just might be the one to do it" I replied as I continued glaring at them taking a swig of my beer.
Whatever it is that Dylan was saying to her was making her uncomfortable or something, and she kept glancing my way nervously.
"Wait a minute, did you call dibs on this girl or something? Isn't she the one living with you?" Jake asked me.
Ignoring him I watched as Amy shook her head saying something to Dylan before walking off and leaving him.
"What was that about? I told to leave the girl alone" I growled at him.
"Relax man. Chill, I don't know what's so different about this girl that you take such great interest in what I do or say to her. But don't worry, I asked her out and she turned me down" Dylan replied "Her loss"

The Fracture
It was a normal day for the inhabitants of ERT-5901, more commonly known by the populace as Earth. A beautiful planet with lush resources and fertile land, well at one point anyways. Children were born, the elderly died, and Man was as corrupt as ever. But hey, what can you do about that? Can’t change human nature… But that's not the point. Basically the planet was peaceful, for the most part. Certainly they were better off than the species on FTL-3470… We don’t talk about them. Better to leave that book unopened. Anyways, that was all until January 5th of the year 2025. When the sky broke. Fractured. Stunning ocean blue cracks were spotted in the sky all over the planet. A spiders web of cracks and crevices littered the blue skies, tearing all that global peace to shreds. All while Wyatt Walker, a sad example of a human being, was black out drunk in a bar somewhere in LA. This is a post-apocalyptic, portal isekai, high fantasy kind of story set on our very own green Earth! The world has fractured, broken. The inhabitants of ERT-5901 are in for quite the quick and dramatic change in their way of life. Murder, theft, and death have become the norm. Survival of the fittest to the extreme. If you can’t keep up, then good luck playing the game. Hello, Kaiser here! I am the author of this lovely story and I would just like to put a few disclaimers down here. First, English is, in fact, my first language. This by no means I will have perfect grammar and there are bound to be spelling mistakes (please forgive me) and places where I accidentally put plot holes. If you find anything, I would appreciate it if you could let me know so I can fix / change it. I also welcome any constructive criticism or opinions you might have about the story (doesn’t always mean I will change something). Second, I am by no means a professional writer here. Just a confused student who wanted to write something. So, uh, here's my story? Third, if you can’t handle any of the following I recommend you find a different story as I will by no means change any of these topics. [Gore, Profanity, Twisted themes, Dark scenes, and Death] If you’re a sensitive person or a queasy person I would highly recommend a different story. Fourth, I would like to write with freedom so I will by no means be lenient with my writing. I intend to write without mercy. Characters will die, bad things will happen, blood will be spilled, and humans will continue to be humans. I would like to write things as realistically as possible while still having that dash of fantasy. Not everything will be all dark and gloom, there will be happy and funny moments mixed! (Hopefully, not a lot of edge) Enjoy! ッ
