《We Could Rule The World || UnOrdinary [Isen x Reader]》Chapter 7

Since he was the closest to the blast, Isen was coughing the most, "Blyke, clear the smoke!" Remi commanded.
Two glowing red balls appeared in the smoke and you heard Blyke shout, "all right, brace yourselves!" there was a blinding red light and a loud 'boom!' and the smoke was cleared.
You looked over to the empty booth, "he's gone!" Remi shouted, "did you get a lock on him earlier?" she asked Isen.
"Yeah," Isen's eyes glowed and he swiveled his head around to look. "Quick! He's heading for the exit!" you didn't need to be told twice, both you and Remi sprinted towards the exit with Blyke and Isen at your heels. You raced out of the mall and leapt down the steps leading up to the entrance. Isen once again looked around and pointed, "there he is!"
The four of you looked at the speeding motorcycle, "there's no driver?" Blyke shouted incredulously.
"He's gotta be invisible or something!" Remi declared.
"Now's not the time for speculating!" you yelled and ran towards the motorcycle with Isen right at your heels.
"I'll bet he has an accomplice!"
"What'd I just say?!"
"Hey! Watch out!" Remi screamed and you looked behind with wide eyes to see and hear a truck barreling at the two of you.
You lowered the gravity around you and leapt up as if you were on a trampoline, shooting high into the air before crashing onto the back of the truck, "5.0 my a**." You grumbled as you brushed yourself off. In front of you, Isen had his powers activated and had forced the truck to a stop.
"Hey Isen!" Blyke shouted as he leapt onto the truck next to you, "you gotta look both ways, idiot!"

You could practically see the vein pop out of Isen's head as he flipped off Blyke, "shut the f*** up a**hole!"
"Now isn't the time!" you chastised as you leapt off the truck and after the motorcycle. A streak of blue dashed passed you and you activated your power again to make yourself lighter as you leapt towards the motorcycle.
"I'll back you up!" Blyke shouted from the truck. Remi easily outpaced you and was nearing the motorcycle, however, Blyke never shot his beam. You glanced behind you to see the glow subsided. Uh oh. You leapt onto one of the light posts and focused your sights on the motorcycle. Your eyes glowed (e/c) as you activated your power and quickly decreased the gravity around it, causing it to float lightly above the ground. Remi quickly caught up to the motorcycle and with an outstretched hand, shot a bolt of electricity at it. Two people flickered into sight as they fell off the vehicle.
"There's nowhere for you to run!" Remi shouted as she still crackled with electricity.
You heard the sound of feet and hastily outstretched your hand towards a security guard running at Remi, "you can't touch her now!" you shouted as you increased the gravity around her, causing her to sag to the ground, "you'll get electrocuted!"
Remi's attention turned to you shouting at the security guard, and in that moment of distraction, the two people on the motorcycle disappeared. "They're gone!" you shouted and pointed at the empty motorcycle. You heard a loud zap and turned around in shock to see that in your own moment of distraction the security guard tackled Remi.
"Get down from there!" you heard another security guard yell at you. You exchanged a defeated glance with Remi before leaping down from the light post.

"It wasn't us! I swear!" you told the guard but he didn't listen as he snapped on handcuffs, "it was the guys on the motorcycle!" you tried to point out the vehicle but couldn't do much as your hands were stuck together.
"Save your breath," he muttered angrily as you and Remi were led back into the mall and through a plain metal door labeled 'security.'
"Look, Sir! I'm telling you, you've got the wrong people!" you heard Isen arguing before you saw him and knew that him and Blyke were caught too, "we caught that guy doing something shady, and questioned him. Next thing you know, he drops a bomb on us-!" Isen cut himself off as he noticed you and Remi being led in.
"Good to see you're still alive?" you tried to break the ice.

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]
