《We Could Rule The World || UnOrdinary [Isen x Reader]》Chapter 1

The bell rang and the room was cleared in a flash, save for you, Blyke, and Isen. Remi was long gone. It was the day they were serving chocolate cake in the cafeteria. You sighed and shoved your stuff into your bag.
"You think Remi is going to get cake today?" Blyke wondered as the three of you strolled down the hall to the cafeteria.
"Hey! Give that back, Arlo!" the three of you could hear Remi's screeches even past the closed doors and down the long hall.
"Nope." You and Isen responded. The three of you continued the trek down the hall and pushed open the doors to the cafeteria. Remi and Arlo were still fighting it out in the middle of the room, so you edged your way around them to your normal spot.
"Ugh, what a boring class." You groaned and tiredly ate your sandwich.
"No," Blyke spoke through the food in his mouth and you grimaced, "we're out of class, so you should stop talking about it."
"Swallow your food before you talk." Isen frowned.
"Remi looks like she's winning," Blyke noted and you and Isen turned around in your seats to see that he was right. Remi looked like she was overpowering Arlo. There was the crackle of electricity and she had the cake. She smiled smugly at Arlo before flouncing over to your table.
"Good job." Isen praised.
"Yeah!" Blyke cheered, "how'd you do it?"
She shrugged, "skill." She set her cake carefully in front of her before taking her actual lunch to eat.
☆☆☆
There was a loud crash from the other side of the school, and a couple students flinched, but class continued as normal. You quietly leaned to your right to whisper into your pink-haired friend's ear, "ten bucks it's Isen and Blyke."
She scoffed and bit happily into her cake, she had saved it so she could savor it in class, "no way am I taking that." You gave a quiet laugh as you returned to sitting normally in your seat, Remi had a point, the two of them seemed to always be fighting over something, and because both of them had strong powers, it often made a spectacle. You silently bet to yourself it was over something tiny and trivial. There was another crash of a window breaking. You inwardly sighed. What sort of school did you go to?
☆☆☆
The bell rang and you and Remi hurriedly packed your stuff to get to the next class. "Man, Blyke and Isen were causing such a racket." You noted and hauled your backpack over your shoulder.
"Wonder if they'll be in the next class." She mused, "oh, let's hurry back to the cafeteria. I need to return this." She held up her empty cake plate.
"Alrighties," you stuck your hands into the pockets of your teal cardigan, "lead the way." The two of you made your way down the hall without any problems, perks of being friends with the Queen of the school.
"Wonder who made that?" you glanced at the shattered window and Remi followed your gaze.
She shrugged, "could be anyone. People are always getting into fights."
"Hmm," you frowned, starting to get really curious of who was the culprit. There weren't any burn marks surrounding the area, so you doubted it was Blyke. There weren't any signs of any powers on the walls, but that didn't mean much. It could've been someone who had enhancements on their body, or-

"(y/n), (y/n), (y/n)!" Remi gave you a not so gentle poke on the shoulder.
"Huh?" you gasped and looked around in a panic.
"You almost ran into that wall back there," she mentioned nonchalantly, and you looked behind you in an attempt to identify which of the walls you could've run into, "but don't worry," she gave you a bright smile, "I got you out of the way."
You smiled back, "thanks."
"Anytime." The two of you entered the quiet cafeteria and Remi placed the plate in a bin for dirty dishes while you waited near the entrance. She returned to you and the two of you left to go to your next class. Remi received a text, and your phone buzzed a moment after, so you assumed that it was a text from the group chat. Remi already had her phone in her hand, and you concluded that it wasn't worth checking your own phone. "Got caught by Doc." Remi read aloud the text, "help us." She laughed, "do we want to?" she questioned and looked over to you.
"Nah," you laughed, "they dug themselves into that hole." The two of you shared a giggle as you walked to your class. Now you knew, you wouldn't be seeing Blyke or Isen anytime soon.
☆☆☆
"You got chewed out by Keene!" you gasped as the four of you walked out of school for the day, "tough luck!"
Blyke grumbled, "it was all Isen's fault."
Isen immediately retaliated and glowered at Blyke, "you're the one who broke my pen!"
"Come on guys, you've been fighting over this for hours," Remi stepped in between the two of them, "get over it." The two boys took a step back and calmed down.
"Yeah, it's Friday!" you cheered, "so what do you guys want to do? Go bowling? Indoor ice skating? Watch a movie?"
"Do homework?" Remi suggested. You, Blyke, and Isen boo-ed her. "Here, we'll do something tomorrow."
"I've never gone ice skating," Blyke mentioned.
"All the more reason to go!" you continued to try and convince your friends to do something fun.
"Indoor ice skating?" Isen frowned, "can't you wait a few months to go ice skating outdoors?"
"Ugh, fine," you pouted, "guess it's junk food and a movie again."
"Fine with me." Blyke agreed and Isen nodded.
Remi sighed, "well don't come complaining to me when Monday comes around and you still haven't done your homework.
"I'll just do it Sunday night like I always do." Blyke shrugged.
"Nice," you grinned, "you guys," you pointed towards Isen and Blyke, "go get snacks. Remi and I will set things up."
Blyke gave you a thumbs up and Isen nodded again, "sounds like a plan."
"Just don't pick a chick flick," Blyke warned, "or I will throw up."
Your group split into two directions. Isen and Blyke headed towards the exit of the school grounds while you and Remi went to your shared dorm room. The first thing the two of you did was change out of your school uniform. You switched to jeans and a (f/c) shirt with your favorite sweater. Remi switched to khaki capris and a pink shirt. "What sort of pizza do you want?" you called to her as you pulled up the tab on your computer.
"Cheese of course," she replied as she leaned over you to see the screen. You placed the order into the website and Remi nodded, "looks good."

"Nice." You grinned. The two of you still hadn't figured out how to get Netflix on the TV, so you brought up Netflix on your computer while Remi searched for the HDMI cord to connect the two. "Should we choose a chick flick just to annoy them?" you snickered.
"Blyke might just straight up leave." Remi laughed, "Isen might stay." You laughed along with her and browsed through the selection of movies. "Princess Bride?"
"My name is Inigo Montoya," Remi declared dramatically and pointed a finger at you, "you killed my father, prepare to die!"
The two of you shared a laugh and you continued to browse movies, "ooh, how about Doctor Strange?" you asked excitedly.
"The Marvel movie?" Remi questioned and stuck her head to the wall to try and see the HDMI port on the TV, "sure." She took the cord and plugged it into the TV, "got it. Catch." She lobbed to you the other end of the cord and you fumbled for it. It fell onto the sofa you were sitting on instead of your hand, and you grabbed it to plug it into your computer. The TV flickered and your wallpaper appeared on the screen. You dragged the tab with Netflix to the TV screen to show the home page for the film.
"Alrighties, we're good to go!" you smiled and got off the sofa to put your computer on the floor next to the TV.
"I'll go grab some blankets." Remi declared and disappeared into her room.
You nodded and called out, "should we pick out a game to play?"
Remi shouted from her room, "yeah! That's a good idea!"
You entered your own room and looked around for a game. There was a battered box of Uno cards and a normal deck of cards lying on the floor next to your table. You snatched the two games and returned to the sofa. You dropped it onto the floor in front of it and moved back to your spot on the sofa and sat comfortably on it. Remi returned moments later with a couple blankets bundled in her arms. She pulled one blanket from the pile and put it on the couch and dropped the rest of it on the floor in front of the sofa but next to the games. She then wrapped the blanket around her like a shawl and sat cross legged in front of you, "before the boys come back, it's girl talk." She grinned.
"Okay," you clapped your hands and turned to look at her, "so, Sera and John."
"Are they dating?" she looked at you questioningly.
"I don't know!" you exclaimed, "I mean, they're always around each other, and no offense to either Sera or John, but they're on complete opposite ends of the spectrum!"
Remi tapped her lip and thought about it, "I bet they're just good friends."
You nodded, "yeah, Sera dating?"
Both you and Remi declared together, "no way."
"You know what I still don't get." You declared and Remi hummed for you to continue, "your obsession with the school's cake! You could literally go to the store and get the exact same cake."
Remi shrugged, "it just tastes better here, probably because of anticipation."
"And you totally didn't just use skill to get that cake from Arlo." You stated and pointed at Remi.
She looked at you in mock offense, "I did too!"
"Not that I believe you're weak." You answered hastily and her offended look became amused, "it's just that if both of you went all out there wouldn't be a cafeteria anymore." You laughed.
She sighed in acknowledgement, "yeah, he totally let me have it."
"Why would he do that?" you pondered, "doesn't he love the school's cake as much as you?" your eyes lit up and you gasped, "maybe he likes you!"
"What?" Remi's eyes widened in shock, "no way!" she looked mildly disgusted by the thought, "ew. No way! And even if he did, there's no way I would like Ass-lo." She pouted.
You laughed, "Ass-lo, that's a new one."
Remi looked at you in shock again, "you've never heard that? Everyone calls him that behind his back!"
"Huh?" it was your turn to look at her in shock, "how do you know this and I don't! You're the Queen! Who would say that around you!"
"Isen never told you?"
"He was the one who knew?"
"Yeah!" Remi nodded, "he was the one who told me! Naturally, I could hardly believe it when he told me."
"But how did he find out?" you asked nearly stupefied.
Remi rolled her eyes, "he part of the school's newspaper. Of course he's gonna find out."
You nodded, that made sense. "Rude!" you shouted suddenly, scaring Remi, "he didn't bother to tell me?"
"Maybe you should grill him about that." Remi suggested with a mischievous look in her eyes and you nodded vigorously.
"Maybe I will!"
There was a knock on the door and both you and Remi sprang up from the sofa to answer it. You opened the door to reveal Blyke and Isen. They had changed into their normal clothes and Blyke held up a white plastic bag weighed down with snacks. "What'd you guys pick?"
"Doctor Strange." You answered as the two of them entered the room and kicked off their shoes.
"We got popcorn, some kit kats, starbursts, and sour patch kids." Blyke reported.
You nodded, "nice, nice. But before that." Blyke raised an eyebrow at you and you turned around to glare at Isen, "why didn't you tell me!" you demanded and he looked at you in surprise.
"Tell you what?" he questioned with a step back while looking a bit concerned, whether it was for his safety or because of your anger, you'll never know.
"That Arlo was also called Ass-lo!" there was a pause before Blyke burst out into laughter.
"Seriously?" he cackled in glee, "that's amazing! It suits so well!"
Your anger diffused as you looked at Blyke in confusion, "you didn't know either?"
He shook his head but still looked amused, "that's brilliant though." He turned to Isen, "where'd you hear it from?"
Isen shrugged, "just from the hallways."
"Like, during a passing period?" you asked dumbfounded, "you weren't snooping around looking for a story?"
Isen backtracked, "no, I was doing a little snooping around. People aren't just going to call him that in the middle of the hall, especially if a high-tier is around them."
"Oh." You nodded. There was a pause of silence, "so I got Uno or a card game."
"Uno!" Blyke shouted and sat down in front of the sofa. The rest of the group followed him and you sat down to the left of Blyke, with Remi beside you and Isen beside her in the shape of a circle on the floor. "I'm going to win this time." He declared.
You took the cards and began to shuffle them, "may Lady Luck be on your side then." You answered slyly as you dealt the cards.
It wasn't long in the game when you and Isen had silently agreed to gang up against Blyke. You flipped directions of the game before it got to Blyke, and when it was Isen's turn, he too flipped directions. "Isen! You too!" Blyke called out indignantly. It was your turn again, and you were able to place down a flipping card. "What?" he shouted.
There was a pause as everyone looked at Isen. He gave a smirk before placing down his card, "eat it Blyke." It was another flipping card and Blyke almost threw his cards at Isen.
When the turn came back around to you Blyke glared at you as if daring you to flip the turns again, "don't worry Blyke," you reassured him, "I'm not going to flip it." You put down a draw 2 card.
"Dang it (y/n)!" he shouted as he drew 2 cards from the deck.
Isen laughed, "nice one!" he put his hand out for a high five and you excitedly returned it.
"You guys get too into this game," Remi sighed with a smile on her face as she put down a card, "oh, and uno."
You interrupted Blyke's shouting when you glanced at your computer which said that the pizza was on its way, "hey, someone should wait outside to get the pizza. Noes goes." You quickly stated and put a finger on your nose. The other three quickly followed and you all looked at Isen who was the last to put his finger on his nose.
He sighed and shook his head, "fine." He said and stood up.
"We can facetime you." Blyke said and held up his phone, "make sure you don't die."
"Haha," Isen laughed wryly as he walked to the door to put his shoes on, "you guys will play without me, right?"
"We can wait for you." You answered at the same time Blyke said, "without a doubt." You glared at Blyke.
Isen shook his head, exited the room and closed the door behind him with a click. "Should we look at his cards?" Blyke asked and wiggled his eyebrows mischievously.
Remi looked unamused, "cheater."
Blyke's shoulders slumped and he sighed dejectedly, "fine. So what do you want to do?" he started to play with the bag of candies.
"Talking is a thing," you deadpanned. "Oh hey! How was the last turf war?" you asked excitedly.
Blyke shrugged, "fine. We won like usual."
Remi snickered, "you were pretty close to losing."
Blyke coughed indignantly, "no I wasn't!"
"Elaine had to patch you up the most." She pointed out and Blyke frowned but didn't argue.
"Who'd we fight?" you asked eagerly.
Blyke looked at Remi who shrugged back, "don't remember."
"That's a shame, guess there weren't any cool powers then."
Blyke scoffed, "find a power to top Sera, that'll be a cool power." There was a knock on the door and you stood up to go answer it. The door opened to reveal Isen was standing there with a box of pizza in his hands.
"Sweet!" Blyke shouted as Isen entered and kicked his shoes off. He then went to sit down with the rest of you.
"Did you play without me?" he asked as you looked around for napkins and plates.
"Nope." Remi replied. You returned with 4 plates and napkins and handed it out. Blyke was the first one to dive for the pizza, followed by Isen, Remi, then you. "Who's turn is it?"
"Oh, it's mine." You put down a card and the game continued like before, just now you were eating pizza.
You played a few games of Uno, Remi won two rounds, Isen won one, you won another, and Blyke still had to win a round. "You got Doctor Strange right?" Blyke asked from his spot on the floor. Unlike the rest of you who were sitting up in some version of criss-crossed, he was laying on his stomach. The empty pizza box was discarded to the side, having been finished for a while.
"Mmhmm," you replied as you placed down another card.
"We should watch it after this round." He stated as he too put down another card, "uno."
"Maybe you'll win this last round." Isen muttered as he put down his own card.
"I sure hope so," Blyke muttered as Remi put down her own card.
You put down your own card and Blyke cheered as he placed his last card, "yes! I win!"
You, and Isen threw down your cards into the main pile and Remi collected it to stack it nicely, "good job!" you smiled.
Blyke opened up the bag of snacks and took out the unpopped packet of microwave popcorn and you glared at it, "Blyke, you better not be planning to heat that up with your beam." You subtly threatened, "you know what happened last time." The last time he tried it he instantly burned the entire bag and it's contents, which resulted in the rest of you frantically opening windows and trying to air out the acrid stench.
"Course not," Blyke scoffed and tossed the bag to Remi, "Remi'll do it." She easily caught the bag and electrified it. The contents sizzled and popped until the entire bag was puffed up with warm popcorn.
"Come on guys," you grinned and lead the way to the sofa, "let's watch the movie!" Remi curled up on one side of the sofa and brought up a blanket to snuggle with. You did the same thing and sat down next to her. Isen sat on the other end of the sofa like a normal person, and Blyke sprawled out on the floor. "Blyke, you should start the movie." You called out to the red-head. He reached over and tapped on the trackpad of your laptop to start the movie.
"Sour patch kid me," Isen declared and Blyke lobbed the box at him.
"When you're done with that, pass it to me." You told Isen.
"Where's the popcorn?" Blyke demanded and Remi leaned forward to wave the bag in front of his face. "Thanks." He muttered and grabbed it from her. Isen passed you the sour patch kids and you dumped out a whole bunch into your hand.
"All right movie night." You smiled to yourself as the opening credits played.
Your group watched the movie in mostly enraptured silence, but that was broken when Dr. Strange had his encounter with the Ancient One and the visual effects started to spiral on the screen.
"Ugh," Blyke groaned and had to look away.
"You can't throw up," you warned him, "you said you'd do that only if we chose a chick flick. And this isn't a chick flick."
"I imagine this is what an acid trip would look like," Isen mused and the rest of the group turned to look at him.
"How do you know that?" you asked incredulously.
"Are you on drugs?" Blyke questioned.

8 1099The Complete Alchemyst book 1
You've heard of superheroes, seen them flying across the sky, destroying great swaths of cities and ending countless innocent lives in order to defeat great evils and world-spanning threats and sell lots of sponsorships and merchandising opportunities. This is a story about the guy that is not those heroes. A supervillain in a world where making the right friends and political contacts is what separates the good guys from the bad. The Alchemyst is a story about a normal guy in a crazy world that spends his time trying to follow his dreams and conscience, working on new potions, thinking about girls, and lifting heavy shit, while trying to stay under the radar of the superheroes, supervillains, and governments that want what he can do. And occasionally turning them into makeshift melee weapons. If you enjoy The Boys, the Aberrant roleplaying game, Mystery Men, Trashy romances, Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, or SAW you may enjoy this book. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people.
