It's strange, the things you remember when you're watching someone die.
She remembered the way his eyes went dull as he took his last breath, the pattern of his breathing as he took his final breath, the way the blood soaked into his shirt.
She remembered all the small details of Blyke's death.
And of course.... she remembered the look on that sick bastard's face as he stabbed Isen.
But, how did this even happen? well... the short answer is; she was selfish, killing her best friend to save her own life and watching as-

The male panted as he sat down on a bench. It was early, if he had to guess he'd say... somewhere around four and five am.
He groaned as he realized he had ran out of water, not wanting to continue running - especially without water - he stood up and walked back to his dorm, his legs screaming for him to give them a break.
-~-
Compared to only a few months ago this isn't anywhere near normal.
The new normal was thinking about his raven-haired roommate.
John was perfect.
for example, hearing him tell jokes and laugh from his room as John talked to one of his friends, usually Adrion, was heaven to Blyke.
so was walking in and seeing John shirtless on the couch as he watched a movie, not bothering to cover up... and watching him bicker with Arlo despite being friends now.... and listening to his soft humming in the morning as he got dressed... a- okay we're getting off-topic.
As heavenly as all that was nothing topped being John's soulmate.
he knew not because of some silly red string but because...
"It's in the stars!„ Blyke looked down at his shoes, a gentle smile on his face.

Isen and Remi stared hopelessly at their friend as they continued eating their food.
"look man,„ Remi took a bite of her chocolate cake, "I know you love him and all but save all the soulmate shit till after you start dating„ she took another bite of her food and elbowed Isen as a signal to back her up.
"hm? oh right-" the man looked at between his friends before looking at Blyke with pity, knowing exactly how John felt, "she's right Blyke, John might not even like you back.„
Blyke's face fell as he looked at the cafeteria door just in time to see John and Arlo walk past, arguing about something stupid.
"I know.... I know that better than anyone else........ he's probably straight anyway.„
Sera cleared her throat bringing the group's attention to her and Evie who was standing behind her.
"I promise you he's not.„ She took a seat beside Remi, Evie joining her. "John is anything but straight, though his vibe is a little off-putting so I can see where you got that from„
Blyke smiled, knowing full well she was trying to make him feel better. it was working but he still had a feeling that even if he did swing that way he would never like Blyke.
"Why does your hair look so soft?„
"it's cause it has volume unlike your dry, crusty, mop that you call hair„
Arlo rolled his eyes at the comment before glaring at a group of students whispering about them. John glared too, knowing Arlo's authority was weaker after being dethroned.
"Anywho, I'm bored. entertain me peasant„ John yawned.
"do it yourself„
"ugh, bitch„ (John)
"whore„ (Arlo)
"skank„ (John)
"cunt„ (Arlo)
"loser„ (John)
"cock sucker„ (Arlo)
"damn right I am, asshole„
"what the actual fuck are you doing with your life„

"couldn't say, probably something stupid„
"wouldn't doubt it„
John entered his room and began stripping down to his boxer, his gaze catching on the full body mirror in front of the window.
he walked over and used the mirror as a sort of guide as he traced over the scars that had supplied a harsh contrast to the rest of his clear, soft, pale, skin.
with each scar a new memory resurfaced until he had to move on.
he grabbed a pair of shorts, a T-shirt, and his favorite jacket from his closet. the male put each article of clothing on as quickly as possible, not wanting to see his body any more than he had to.
Blyke walked with his friends, his mind wandering back to John. due to this however, he failed to hear Remi and Isen trying to get his attention and he walked into a wall.
"shit!„ he hissed in pain, his hand going to his head as a headache began forming.
Isen sighed, "we tried to warn you„ blyke walked back over to the group as Isen continued talking.
"jeez, you really gotta pay attention to things other than John„ he teased, the other going red and trying to hide his face.
Remi laughed at the reaction before turning around, seeing a cute store making her face light up. Isen and Blyke both mentally groaned as she pulled them along.

A Goblin's Blade (dropped)
He looked down the path, which was littered with many things. Things he found in abundance were such of violence, desire and gore while things he found in scarcity were such of love, friendship and glory. At the start of the path was a naive, green goblin while at the end of it... Well at the end of it stood him: the godslayer, the monster from the forest, the walking death... He had many names but none so that perfectly captured his image as well as the Mad King. Authors note: Edit: Trying to release a chapter per day, around 2-2.5k words each. An evolution story about a goblin. This is under lit-rpg but I'm focusing more on the plot/characters instead of the usual features of such stories such as the blue tables that take ages to make or the stat screens. In essence it's closer to high fantasy than lit-rpg. Much appreciated if you read the Prologue to see whether you like it or not. Cover image is "Evolution" taken from art done by WhoAmI01
