《More than rubies [D. Alli x E. Dier]》Chapter 12

We had so much fun that evening.

It was good for me, not to think about Eric once.

I mean, I loved Eric really much, but it only made me sad.

When it was twelwe o'clock I wished Sonny a good night.

The others weren't there yet.

I tried to be as quiet as possible when I went over to my room again.

"Guys?", I whispered when I entered the room.

Nobody answered.

Everybody seemed to be asleep already, so I tried to brush my teeth as quietly as possible and then I went to bed.

The next morning my alarm clock beeped loudly.

"Time to beat Stoke!", Kyle yelled. "Ugh, Kyle. Shut up.", I frowned.

When I finally got up Vincent knocked on our door.

"Hello? Time for breakfast. Do you wanna come with me?"

I nodded.

"Certainly! Let's go."

I was already wearing my favourite pair of sweat pants and quickly put on a brown pullover.

Eric followed us and Kyle was already eating.

Mauricio stood up, when I took my first bite.

"Okay, boys. This match is important. We need to win, to remain third place, okay? Man City is gonna be third otherwise, got it? I'm sure you'll do your best and try hardest, don't you? See you at six o'clock in the changing rooms."

We continued chatting.

He was a really good coach, like a father. He knew what was best and not at all arrogant.

I liked the way he played and that he would give everyone a chance. I didn't like that he planned on selling Ryan and Sonny, but he only does that considering what's best for the team... I knew, if he really got to sell these two lil' sunshine's I'd miss them a lot...

Suddenly Eric stood up.

"Alright guys, I'll take a shower. See ya'll later.", Eric said.

"See ya."

"See you later alligator.", Vincent said totally seriously.

I chuckled.

He was still a child. He looked so innocent, not at all like a cruel defender, who would do anything to hold a striker back from scoring.

"Dele? Can I call you Dele Alligator from now on?"

He smiled brightly.

"Sure, if you like it? Why not?" I just couldn't resist his childish behaviour.

After breakfast I packed my bag for the match.

At two o'clock we all hopped into the team bus, which drove us to Stoke.

The journey was funny, because Eric told the worst jokes he knew and I couldn't hold myself back and laughed the whole time.

"Can't you guys be quiet for once?", Ben frowned. He was trying to listen to music.

Michael whispered something into his ear. "You're right, you guys can continue, it's alright."

I wondered: "What did Michael tell him, that made Ben so calm and tolerant suddenly?"

Eric had no idea either. We simply continued having fun.

"Alright, we're there.", Eric said and stood up. "Let's get ready for the match! Come on you Spurs!", he cheered exitedly.

"You're the best cheerleader Spurs could ever had, Eric. Did you consider switching your career into a professional cheerleader yet?"

In the changing room we continued discussing wheter cheerleaders were important for a team or not.

"Gah, guys! If I hear the word cheerleader once more today, I swear I'll kill a person!", Danny frowned. Eric giggled. "Take him, I'm too beautiful to die that early." I giggled, too, but it was true.

He was too beautiful to die. I would die for him, I would sacrify my unworthy body to safe him. Did that sound too dramatic? I didn't care, I was in love!

"Dele, you dreamer. Why are you staring at Hugo?", Eric poked me.

"Wh- what? I? Sorry, Hugo. I was thinking." He blushed and turned a-way.

"It's okay. Sometimes I dream, too."

"Oh my... how embaressing.", I thought.

"I'm really sorry, captain. I didn't mean to stare at you. Especially not when you were changing. I kinda lost myself..."

Hugo smiled gently. "No problem. As long as you concentrade during the match it's okay."

I smiled back.

Hugo was our captain and our Spurs-dad at the same time.

He was a good person to talk to and would always be calm if you had a problem.

He also was a good listener an old, wise goal keeper.

I mean, he wasn't old, but old for a footballer.

Sometimes he was bossy and strict, but he always did his best for the team, tried to encourage us to do the same, and if it didn't go too well, he tried to cheer us up and reminded us never to give up.

"Today is an important match." Mauricio interrupted my thoughts. "We need those three points, got it? So do your best and remember to attack early, so Stoke won't get too brave and score a goal. I'm sure you'll make it."
