《Back To Back; Dele Alli》Chapter Seven

It has been almost a month now and to keep herself busy, Jasmine had got herself a few dates, just because she wants to forget Dele.

I got dressed up in a soft lilac coloured dress, making sure I looked great for my first impression for Dave, a guy I met online.

That might probably already sound like the worst thing to do but that was only fair for me. It was all over the news and all I could see was photos of Dele and Rebecca. The time difference wasn't a big jump but Dele's a busy man. It was almost impossible to get him on the phone.

"Are you alright? You seem pretty distracted," Dave asks, alarming me off my day dream.

"Yeah," I said, before I took a sip on my wine.

"After dinner I thought of going back to my place? We could watch a movie or something," Dave says.

"Yeah."

.

Jasmine threw her phone in her bag, ignoring Dele's text and soon, they were off back to Dave's place. It was a small appartment down town and it already seemed welcoming. As soon as she stepped into the house, she felt Dave's hands wrapping around her waist, as he slowly moved her to the living room. His lips moved up to her neck, and before then, everything was a blur. He had her down on his bed, but before he could have layed another finger on her, he reached out her arm and stopped him.

"No," she says slowly.

"What?"

"I can't do this," she says, sitting up. Of course she felt guilty but, there was nothing much that she could expect. She loved him too much to do this behind his back.

"What is it?" Dave asks, inching away.

"It's just... it's just wrong. I'm sorry," she replies, as she picked up her clothes, putting them back on.

She slipped into her shoes and before she left the house, she turned around to see Dave with a 'question mark' drawn on his expression.

"I'm sorry. I really am. You seem like a very nice guy but maybe, you deserve someone else," she says with a smile.

She wouldn't want to break his heart and no, it wasn't her intential at all to even end up in that situation. She walked down the lighted streets, with tears running down her cheeks and before realising it, she was already calling Dele.

"What took you so long to reply? Where are you? What are you doing? Who are you with? Are you OK.."

"Dele..." Jasmine interrupted.

"I'm alright," she added.

Dele let out a huge gust of sigh, as he cleared his throat.

"Please be alright," he says.

"Where are you?" he added.

"I'm going home."

"Alright, call me when you reach home, just so I know you're safe," Dele said.

"Take care," he hang up.

"Alright."

If only Jasmine knew that the moment Dele hung up, he mouthed 'I love you' and it wasn't intended for him to make her feel replacable.

Jasmine had a long, warm bath before she finally rested on her bed, covering herself with the jacket Dele has left behind. She stared out of the window for a while, admiring the night sky, filled with twinkling stars and the bright moon. The silence in the atmosphere reminded her of how calm it was and the small breaks of wind made her feel secured, peaceful.

She managed to close her eyes for a while and before she knew it, she was fast asleep.

While Jasmine was resting, Dele was all about in a press conference.

"So Dele, a little more about your personal life," an interviewer says.

"I live in a small town with my family and friends and I'm currently staying in my bestfriend's house," he says.

"Any girlfriend?"

"No."

He walked back to the hotel room, before he was stopped by Rebecca.

"Hello baby," she says, wrapping her arms around him.

"Please, Rebbeca. I need space," he says, trying to move away.

"Come on, Dele. I know you like it," she persuaded.

"No! Get off," Dele yelled, pushing Rebecca away.

"If you do not want to lose this bloody photoshoot contract then listen to me because if anything goes wrong, I can ring my dad and he could cost you your job," she screamed.

"I don't fucking care and even if I'm putting my job at risk, I rather be fired than be with a cheap out like you," Dele responded.

"What? Just so you can be with that poor girl back at home who has nothing?" Rebecca was in fury.

"She may be poor and unknown. But I rather be with her than a brat," Dele says, walking off.

"And by the way, your wig's coming off," he added.
