John's POV

I finished with Poly's bandages and sat next to Alli who wrapped her arms around my waist. I kissed the top of her head looking out at the water. I cleared my throat, "Right gather round shall we?" I asked. Everyone gathered around, "Let's have a look shall we?" I asked. "That's the spirit John." Poly said. I sighed then chuckled, "Oh this is gonna be good." Yoshi said as he was next to Alli. She smiled at the bear softly, "We are finished." I said. "Is this a pep talk cause it's a weird one." Yoshi said.

Alli looked at me confused, "I can sniff defeat like a truffle pig." "This can't be the end." Stubbins said. "Yeah I smell it." I said. Alli and Stubbins stood up, "We can still save the queen." Alli said. "Nope." I said. "We can still save your house." Stubbins said. "I believe in you." He said. I chuckled, "We can keep going."

"Oh you've got a point there except the journal's gone we've got no way to find the Eden Tree and our boat is sunk." I said. "He makes a strong argument." Plimpton said. Yoshi and Alli looked at him, "I'll shut up." He said. "Do it omelet." She said. "On the plus side you are all cured. Chee Chee you are brave now." I said. He just smiled, "Plimpton and Yoshi are getting along." "Ow remember back back!" Plimpton said. "Sort of." Alli said. Yoshi grabbed her and hugged her, "Okay, okay big guy let me go can't breath." Alli said trying to get out of Yoshi's grip.

"And Stubbins you've made friends and you can even talk to them you don't need me." I said. I looked at Alli, "John." Alli said. "No, no Robin and Colin are here go to them bet they'll give you all a ride back." I said. "Colin wants Alli dead I thought." Stubbins said. "Thanks for the reminder Tommy." Alli said. "Sorry." He said. Alli laughed walking away but stopped sitting at the dock sitting down.

"Alli?" Stubbins asked. "Stay here I'll talk to her." Poly said. "I am coming too you boys stay here." Dab-Dab said. "That explorer you told me about she would have never given up she was your wife wasn't she?" Stubbins asked. "You wanna know the ironic bit?" I asked him. "I don't know what ironic means." He said. "Irony is when you find someone and they make your life more wonderful than it had any right to be and then poof they're gone and it's all your fault." I said.

"This journey was my chance to finish what she started Lily insisted I care for the animals at home so I stayed behind. Rassouli's right I should have been with her now all I left of her is the ghost I see when I hold our rings." I said. "Alli is he right I thought it was James' journey also." He said. "James was the one who found the island he put it in charts but I don't know where on Müdfly probably has them. I came on this journey not for John or for the queen. I did it for James. I should've gone with him but I didn't he told me to stay home and take care of you." Alli said looking at him. "Me?" "Yeah I begged him not to go and let me go but he went and now I am wanted dead by my ex brother in law who I thought was the nice one." "You see him?" I asked. "Every time I sleep or like you our rings I hear his voice and see him." She said. "So you two see them as well?" A couple voices asked. We looked and saw Rassouli and Colin.

Robin was behind them looking down, "Not only did you lose my daughter's journal but your polar bear blew up my village." He said. "We don't know that." Yoshi said. We looked at him as he dropped some dynamite, "And your gorilla beat up my tiger no good." Rossouli said. Colin walked over to Alli, "I should really just kill you now but I want you to know something but it's his island he's going first." Colin said. "You're scared of him aren't you?" Alli asked. "Yes." Colin, Robin and I said. "I was talking to them." She said. "Oh." I said. He pushed Stubbins to the side, "Irony." He said tilting my head up with his sword. "Is me wanting to kill you with every fiber of my being but loving my daughter more I miss her too she would have wanted you to keep going." He said tapping my head with his sword.

Alli looked at Colin, "Colin listen....." Alli was saying. "Shut up." He said. "Okay." She said. "Irony for you is me wanting to kill you over and over again." Colin said his gun out. Alli looked at him, "But you made our brother happy." He said tilting her head up with his gun. "And loved him for himself." Robin said walking over.

Alli opened one eye, "He would not be disappointed in you at all either of you." Colin said looking at Stubbins. "We miss him too." Robin said. We sighed, "So!" Rossouli causing not only me to jump but also Alli and the Nolan brother. "Get going before I stop feeling sentimental." He said. "We don't have a ship." Stubbins said. "I've got the perfect ship." Rossouli said. We gave him a confused look and he left.

"How we gonna find Mudfly?" Stubbins asked. "Hold on Mudfly?" Colin asked. "Yeah he says he has James' charts to the island." I said. They both started to laugh, "Alli he loved you really but he made a stop on his way back from when he found the island." Colin said. Robin smirked and handed her something a small journal. "What's this?" She asked. "Charts and notes about the Eden Tree." Robin said. She looked at them, "Why you giving this to me?" She asked. "You need it." Colin said. "Also because we've been jerks to you since you dated our brother." Robin said.

"I am not admitting it." Colin said. "Do it." Rossouli said. "Fine you're the best person James could ever find and I am sorry for being a complete jerk to you." Alli chuckled, "That was forced but I'll take it I got a sorry." She said. "So he the one now kid you think?" Colin asked Stubbins. "I mean they are really close and have....." Stubbins was saying. "Alli." Both of them said. "Kissed only." Alli and I said. "But you'd have to ask Alli not me I am just an on looker." He said. They pulled her aside, "You like that girl?" Rossouli asked. "No I've fallen for her." I said.

He hummed, "Lily would have wanted you to move on John. She's good for you she can deal with you and your animals." He said. I nodded, "Ey animal boy." Colin said. I looked at them, "Come here." Robin said. "Why not right here where there are witnesses?" I asked walking over. "We won't bite you." Colin said. "You had a gun pointed at Alli not even like five minutes ago." I said.

They walked me away a little bit, "Listen here mate she's a special girl and our brother knew that. She's like our sister." Colin said. "Sort of is." Robin said. "Seriously right now?" "Sorry." "She's deserves a good man one who doesn't give up and makes her smile. She feels safe with." Colin said. "Which from what I saw with Barry you would do anything for her so take care of her." Robin said.

I nodded, "One more thing." I looked at them, "Hurt her and we'll hunt you down and make sure our punishment's worse than Barry." Colin said. I looked at Robin, "He's right." Robin said. I nodded then walked over to Alli kissing her head, "This is the one time I need you to protect me." I said. She laughed softly, "Take care of each other." Rassouli said and walked away. We got on the boat and looked at it, "Bit of a fixer-upper." Plimpton said. "It's got good bones." Yoshi said. "At least it floats." Alli said the same time as Dab-Dab. "We'll just have to make the best of it won't we?" I asked my foot on a cannon when it broke. Dab-Dab jumped back.

"Ohh company." A voice said. "Uh who's that?" Yoshi asked. "Not it." Alli and Plimpton said at the same time. Yoshi pulled the cover off showing a man, "Hi I'm Jeff." A man said. "Crikey." Stubbins said. "Oi Colin one more favor." Alli said. He stopped, "Could you get this guy off our boat?" She asked. He nodded and they left and off we were.
