Alli's POV

I was walking with my little brother Tommy, and my annoying uncle and cousin, "Hey Alli how come you won't marry again huh?" My cousin asked. "Cause the boys in the village are ugly assholes." I said and that shut him up. Tommy looked at me knowing the real reason behind it, "You miss him don't you?" Tommy asked stopping quick as my uncle and cousin's passed. "You know me to well Tommy." I said. He pulled my necklace out quick seeing the wedding rings.

"You know you can find love more than once." Tommy said. "Oh god Tommy not this again." I said. "I see how you are Alli maybe if we left and venture out you'll find your real true love." He said. "You know James was one true love unless you know someone who can deal with my sass and stubbornness then I'll consider that." I said. He smiled, "You know I am right tho." Tommy said. I pulled my brother aside, "I told you you fall in love and they get ripped away from you like it's payback." I said.

"Well you did steal him from his future bride." He said. "Hey she left him too for some weird guy who I don't know." I said. He chuckled, "And you're not weird at all Al." He said walking by me. I looked up at the sky and kissed the rings. I leaned against the tree watching as my uncle and cousin tried to teach Tommy how to hunt even tho Tommy wants no part in it. Tommy fell back and he hit something. I ran over and saw a squirrel, "Oh look he hit something this time." Our cousin said.

I looked at Tommy, "Hey it was an accident." I said. "We have to help him." Tommy said. "Aye we never leave an animal suffering not on our error here you go." Our uncle said handing Tommy a knife. He and our cousin walked away and I took the knife from him, "No you will not use this." I said tapping his head. He just nodded, "Follow Poly." Something said.

We looked up seeing a parrot, "Follow Poly." She said again and we followed her. We got to some big gates, "Home of Dr. John and Lily Dolittle we treat all animals." I read. I knocked on the gate as Tommy arrived, "Uh-uh follow Poly." Poly said. We followed her to a hole in the wall, "Secret entrance." We got through and saw all sorts of animals, elephants, monkeys, giraffes, and peacocks, "Whoa." I breathed out. Poly chattered and we followed her into a hedge maze and she showed us the way out, "Poly?" I asked. "Where'd you go?" Tommy asked.

I heard branches rustling and looked seeing a polar bear with a hat on. He looked at the two of us and we backed up, "Nice dog big hairy." Tommy was saying when we fell into something. We got stuck in a net and the polar bear stood on it's back legs, "Please don't eat us." I said. He bellowed like he was talking to us and Poly flew over squawking. We watched as the two of them seemed to be having a conversation, "You see the polar bear and Poly talking to each other too right?" I asked my little brother. "Yeah." He breathed out scared. "Hey, hey." I said. He looked at me, "You're okay." I said.

I felt for the knife, "Hey maybe if I swing us over to that rope I could cut us down." I said. "With a knife?" He asked. "Do you see any other way to get us down?" I asked. Tommy shook his head, "Okay ready?" I asked. "Yeah." He said as we tried to swing over. "I got it." I said.

"Pardon me." A voice said. We looked and saw a girl about Tommy's age, "Whatever are you both doing up there?" She asked. "You probably think we'd be crazy if we told you honestly." I said. "Try me." She said. "We got into this because of a Polar Bear who's wearing a hat."

She looked at me then my brother, "She's right." He said. "I've come from Buckingham Palace on urgent business can you tell me if this is the home of John Dolittle?" The girl asked. "Who are you?" Tommy asked. "You may call me Lady Rose. and you both are?" She asked. "Tommy Stubbins and Alli Stubbins but you can call him Stubbins." I said.

"Could you help us down?" Tommy asked. We fell down and I cut my arm, "Ouch." I said. "You okay Alli?" Tommy asked. "Yeah I think the knife caught my arm." I said. "That looks deep good thing this is a Doctor then." Lady Rose said.

We stood up and walked to the door knocking multiple times, "Have either of you been here before?" She asked. I shook my head Tommy looked down nervous making me smirk, "The queen's told me all about it it's a most unusual place." She said. "I'm prepared for anything." Tommy said. I knocked again when a gorilla answered the door and roars in Tommy's face. Tommy screamed like a scared little girl as did the gorilla.

I looked at the gorilla, "Wonderful a gorilla answering the door just as the queen said." Lady Rose said pulling me in with her. "Wait that's my....." I was saying as the gorilla closed the door. "Brother." I said. "No, no, no, no I'll be fine." I said as we walked to the house. "No you are not that cut is deep and he can help you." She said. "You see I've got to get to my brother because he's got an injured squirrel." I said. "Oh come on what's the big deal about meeting another man into your life?" She asked. "It's a long story that I don't want to bore you with." I said. "Come on let him stitch you up you don't have to talk to him." She said. "Fine but first my....hey." I said and she pulled me inside with her.
