"Huh?!" everyone yelled.

"Wait, wait, your majesty, are you sure? I'm not sure if I'm f- fit for the job-" I stuttered, surprised, but was interrupted.

"You will be hired for the job if you are capable of protecting my son. You seem capable of fighting off enemies for my son. He is a growing prince so he will need someone to protect him when traveling somewhere, especially when the enemies who despise the royals might attack the castle." the King smiled. " But of course, you will still need training everyday so you will attend the class as the rest of the new knights will as normal. You won't be around Killua 24/7 but will be there for him when needed. It's up to Killua when you should be there as long as you're both still in the castle. If he wants to travel to the village, then you shall accompany him. If he were ever to be in danger, you are to risk your life for him for the duty of his knight. Do you understand? I will explain more if you pass the test."

"Father, I doubt that this child will be able to protect my brother." Illumi said coldly.

"Illumi, I know someone who is capable when I see them." the King said, making Illumi shroud back into the dark corner. (A/N: GABABSJBHS THIS REMINDS ME OF TAMAKI SUOH IN HIS MUSHROOM CORNER HGKGDGSJGDH) "So, Gon Freecss, do you accept? The King asks, challenging me.

'Well, I can't decline now! This is the King's request for heaven's sake!' I thought.

"Yes, your majesty, I will accept this challenge and generous offer.' I bowed. I looked up to Killua and his face was PRICELESS. His eyes and mouth were wide open. He was speechless. I wanted to laugh so bad but I held it back since the King was still there.

"Alright, you will be fighting with the Commander in two days at noon. Be prepared. No weapons allowed, it will be a combat to combat fight. I'm sure you are capable of defeating him." the King smiled, then walked away.

I looked at Killua again, and bursted out laughing. Killua turned red as a tomato.

"B-baka! Why didn't you decline! I don't need protecting..." he pouted. I felt myself blush at the sight of him pouting. I started laughing again. The next thing I knew, I was holding my head in pain.

"OWOWOWOWOWOWOWWWWWWW!" I whined. Then I heard a slight laugh. I looked up and Killua was laughing his ass off. "Why did you hit me?!" I pouted. He laughed harder. "Hey! Stop laughing!! This caused him to laugh even harder and started making me laugh too. With tears in our eyes after laughing so much, we slowly came to a stop. Then I remembered, we were still in the courtyard. 'Shit, did everyone see that?' Killua seemed to notice too and we both looked out to the courtyard. The crowd was standing in shock. Even the librarian and doctor seem to be startled. The maids that were weeding the gardens were astonished at how much the prince laughed with a boy he only just met. 'I guess that Killua doesn't laugh much...?' The atmosphere was unreadable. Then, one by one, everyone started to chuckle. I sighed of relief and chuckled along. Killua seems to be relieved too and also chuckled.

The sound of him slightly laughing made me blush. It was so cute. His big cheeky smile and his big cerulean eyes... 'Wait, why am I blushing? WHY AM I THINKING LIKE THAT.' Steam came out of my ears.

"Eh?! Gon, are you ok?!" Killua panicked.

"Yeah, I'm ok! Nothing to worry about! Ahahaha..." I said, nervously. The horn sounded, telling the newly hired knights to go to the training yard. "Ah! I got to go, Killua! I need to train so I can protect you!" I winked. Killua turned all shades of red. I laughed lightly and started running towards the people who were leading us to the training ground. I looked back and waved to him. Killua waved back but looked away to hide his blushing face. "I'll see you later, Killua!" I yelled back. Before I fully turned away, I saw a glimpse of him smiling. I slowed down to a walking pace, and smiled to myself. 'I want to see him smile everyday.' I thought to myself. I made myself a goal and felt satisfied with it as I rushed towards the training ground.
