《Love on Top》Ch.50

Ever since I landed in Taiwan, I felt myself missing home more than ever. I couldn't wait to get back home and see my family again. Currently I was on FaceTime with Daphne and Ajani.
"Sam, this whole wedding planning thing is so tiring just like how I have to prepare for Arabella and Fredrick's wedding," She sighed. Ajani put one of his drool covered toys back into his mouth.
"Oh yeah. I forgot that you're the maid of honor," I replied.
"Yeah I am," She sighed.
"It's funny how this is the second wedding planning your involved in that includes Fredrick being the groom," I said.
"I know, but it's a good thing that he's getting married to Arabella because had he married my sister over a year ago, I think he'd be pretty miserable," Daphne explained.
"That is true," I nodded. T
"But at the very least, I'm happy, even though all this planning and stuff is tiring," She smiled softly.
"Here's an idea. Hold off on planning our wedding until Fredrick and Arabella's is over. That way, you won't be as stressed about ours since we'll both be apart of theirs," I suggested.
"That sounds like a good idea, Sam," She smiled.
"I know right," I smirked cockily.
"Quit being a head ass," She rolled her eyes. I chuckled softly.
"Anyways, tell my mother, your grandmother, and your sisters to hold off on the wedding planning until after Fredrick and Arabella have theirs," I responded.
"Okay," She nods.
"Oh yeah. You did get the room ready for when Afryea stays with us for a month?" I asked.
"Yeah I did. We actually don't need a second crib because she can just sleep in Ajani's," She answered.
"That's true, but I would think that they would want some room," I murmured.
"Well I guess we'll have to get out the bassinet then," She said.
"Alright," I responded.
"Ooh! Since you're in Taiwan, can you please get me those Hi-Chews your mother brought me when I was still pregnant with him?" She asked.
"Sure," I replied.
"Thank you," She smiled.
"Anything for you," I smiled back.
"So. Later on tonight, do you feel like staying up late for me?" She smirked.
"Daphne, not in front of him," I told her. She giggled.
"He doesn't understand anything I'm saying, Sam," She smiled, "Do you, baby?" She started kissing Ajani repeatedly on his cheek. He giggled and she smiled softly. A knock sounded on my hotel door.

"Hold up, Daphne. Someone's at the door," I said.
"Okay, Sammy-Sam," She teased.
"Daphie-Duck, don't start," I pulled a straight face.
"Fine. I won't do it again," She laughed.
"Thank you," I chuckled. I got up from the table I was sitting at and walked to the door. I opened it to find one of my childhood friends, Elijah Chen, standing there. Elijah and I's parents had been friends for years. We were also the best of friends since childhood when my parents and I would go back and forth between America and Taiwan. We still kept in touch when my parents finally decided to just settle down in America and whenever I had business trips, we'd hang out when I had time.
"Eli," I smiled.
"Hey, Sam," He smiled back.
"Come in. I'm just talking to Daphne and Ajani," I told him.
"The famous Daphne I've been hearing about?" He asked.
"Yeah," I responded. He walked into my room and I closed the door behind him.
"So how you been, man?" I questioned.
"I've been good. I'm just a little worn out from work," He replied.
"Same," I said.
"Ajani, I hear your big headed father's voice," Daphne said from my laptop. Elijah laughed and I pulled a straight face. Elijah walked over to the laptop.
"So you're Daphne, right?" Elijah asked.
"And you're Elijah, right?" She questioned.
"Yep," He replied.
"Nice to meet you. Sam, told me all about you," She said.
"And he's told me so much about you every time he visits," Elijah chuckled.
"Oh god. I hope he didn't say anything embarrassing," She groaned.
"It's fine. I have more embarrassing stories on him," Elijah assured her.
"I have one that recently just happened. It was so funny just to witness it," She giggled. My face went blank as soon as I thought about what she was talking.
"What happened?" Elijah pulls up a chair. I sit down in mine.
"Sam was in the middle of getting Ajani ready for a bath one day. Ajani had pooped and he decided to just give him a bath. I was in our room when I heard Sam yelling and cursing. I ran into the room to see Sam's face dripping with pee. He even had a large wet spot on his shirt too," Daphne explained. Elijah laughed.
"Anything else happen?" Elijah asked.

"Yeah. After Ajani had peed on Sam, he pooped and when I tell you that it shot out like a bullet. Sam just went quiet and left the room as soon as I started laughing. I ended up giving Ajani a bath while Sam just took a shower. That night he just got into the bed quietly and pouted," Daphne explained. Elijah continued laughing with her.
"You're both annoying," I muttered in irritation. They both continued laughing at me.
"Daphne, maybe the next time Sam makes a trip here he can bring you and the little one along," He said.
"Okay. That sounds like a plan," She smiled, "And maybe you can come visit us and this little chubby baby of ours."
"Sure. I'd love to meet you in person," He smiled. I felt a little bit of jealousy creep up on me.
"You guys are suddenly best friends now?" I looked between them both.
"Just the best of friends, Sam," Daphne rolled her eyes.
"Someone sounds jealous," Elijah smirked.
"A little," I responded.
"Aww. How cute," Daphne teased.
"Yeah yeah," I said. Ajani dropped his toy and moved into the screen.
"Hey, Ajani," Elijah smiled. Ajani started talking to Elijah instantly. Daphne giggled.
"I guess somebody made a new friend," She smiled. Daphne's phone started ringing and she picked it up.
"Hold on, guys," She said. She picked it up and answered it.
"Hey, Arabella. The key is under the mat," She said. Ajani started beating on the screen.
"Aye. Quit doing that," Daphne exclaimed. Ajani continued doing it as Daphne yelled at him again. Elijah and I just laughed.
"You think this shit is funny?" She asked.
"Yeah," Elijah and I replied in unison. She rolled her eyes. She started muttering under her breath. We both chuckled. She continued talking to Arabella before hanging up.
"Okay, you two. I have to go because I'm supposed to go hang out with Arabella. I'll talk to you later on tonight, Sam," She said. A small smirk appeared on her face and I smiled.
"You too, Daphne," I replied. Elijah looked between the both of us.
"Eww. There's a child right here," Elijah spoke up.
"He can't understand us," I waved him off.
"Still," Elijah said.
"The child is right, Sam. We shouldn't be saying these things in front of Elijah," Daphne said.
"See-wait a minute. I'm not a child. I'm a man," Elijah told her.
"So is Ajani," Daphne rolled her eyes.
"See here-"
"Oh God. You guys just got to know each other and now you're about to argue," I sighed. They both laughed again.
"Well I'll talk to you later, Sam. It was nice to meet you, Elijah," She smiled again.
"You too, Daphne," He smiled back.
"Bye," She said.
"Bye," Elijah and I said simultaneously. She ended the Skype call an I closed the laptop.
"Alright, Eli. What do you feel like doing?" I asked.
"Well Mason wanted us all to hang out together," He informed me.
"Alright. That sounds like fun," I nodded.
"Cool. I'll text him that you're coming," He said.
"Alright," I replied.
"Daphne is a really nice woman. I can see why you love her," He spoke up.
"Yeah she is," I smiled softly.
"Man, I wish I could find somebody like her," He sighed.
"You will some day, man," I assured him.
"Sam, I'm already 32. I don't have that much time to be honest," He said.
"Have you tried dating?" I asked.
"I've tried it, but it doesn't work out that well to begin with," He replied.
"Did you ask these women out or did your mother do it?" I queried.
"A little bit of both," He answered.
"Hm," I said. I went quiet for a moment as he texted our friend Mason. Suddenly, I thought of it.
"Oh crap. I forgot," I groaned.
"Forgot what?" He looked at me.
"Daphne has a cousin that broke up with her long time boyfriend like three months ago," I replied.
"Okay. How is that supposed to help me when she lives in America?" He questioned.
"You're visiting us soon right?" I asked.
"Yeah. So?" He responded.
"You're slow," I deadpanned.
"Oh. Oh. Ohhhhh. I gotcha," He nodded.
"Do you? Do you really?" I asked.
"Yes. Yes I do, asshole," He replied.
"You're more of an asshole than me," I said.
"You keep thinking that," I rolled my eyes.
