《Male Lead's Villainess Stepmother》Chapter 86

Yang Zifeng didn't go into too much details probably because Yan Shuyu was on vacation overseas right now but Yan Shuyu's interest was piqued and she immediately went onto Weibo to check it out.

She was startled when she looked. She was, indeed, quite famed by now.

The trending search on her was under the title of #The fairy older sister who plays the piano#. And there were so many netizens referring to her as the fairy older sister. Yan Shuyu couldn't be happier. What even better than that was that the search about her was the second on the most trending list!

In the lack of headline news, the top of the most trending list was usually occupied by all the stars. The fact that someone nameless such as Yan Shuyu was able to make her way to the top of the list perfectly demonstrated how crazy the netizens were about her look.

And after Yan Shuyu had looked on the most trending list, she figured out how she had become famed. Her little buddy did not tell the entire story. Albeit the fact that her fame had come unexpectedly, there were rhymes and reasons for it - the video about her was recorded by a somewhat famed internet influencer.

With out this explosive hot searches, Sunshine House was just a slightly well-known coffee shop on the internet. Up to the point when Yan Shuyu had resigned, there were still visitors from out of town checking out their shop from time to time. Manager Yang, their boss, however, was not a very ambitious person. He was a Second Generation Rich without a shred of worries. He was happy with the money just rolling in as is. Ergo, even though the coffee shop's business was getting better and better, he still had no intention to start marketing the place to take it from being slightly famed to highly famed and make globs of money from the fans.

Manager Yang was lazy in nature. With the business getting better and better, the most he did is to hire a few extra employees and that was pretty much the extent of it. As such, Sunshine House was only known among a small group of enthusiasts. That being said, their lack of crazy marketing was well received by their regulars. Yet their shop was just one of many coffee shops that was known on the web.

That being said, Manager Yang was just lazy, not foolish. He didn't need to do a lot of work but he wasn't going to turn any possible benefits. For example, in the event when internet influencers came to take pictures, videos, or whatnots, he would always play nice with them, possibly hoping for some publicity. Nevertheless, luck had not been on his side. Waves and waves of internet influencers had visited Sunshine House and many videos had been made there but they never stirred up any waves on the web. Instead, some of the lesser-known influencers ended up leeching off of their popularity.

Well, when one spread a net wide enough, one would eventually catch something. So, this time, Manager Yan was finally able to land himself a big fish.

It was two weeks ago and probably on a weekend when Yan Shuyu was performing. The servers all understood the mentality of their boss so, when they spotted people there with cameras who looked like they were there to make a video, all they did was reminded them to remain quiet and not walk around and distract the other patrons. There was nothing else they needed to observe in addition to those.

If the workers didn't care then for sure Yan Shuyu didn't care much about it either. It was her first rodeo anyway. She just carried on with her performance and, as such, her performance, along with the entire coffee shop, appeared on the internet influencers latest video.

The internet influencer observed some common courtesy and did not point the camera straight to her face. Most of them was of her side profile and her playing the piano. Yan Shuyu happened to have curled her hair that day so, naturally, she had her hair cascaded down her shoulder. While she was playing the piano, her hair was sway next to her cheeks and even her side profile wasn't very clear.

Most of the time, it was a half covered up look that was the most attractive. Bragging aside, Yan Shuyu's features were what perfection would look like. Even though all the audiences were able to see were her brows, eyes, and nose occasionally, but that would enough for them to have an idea of how beautiful she was. As such, they would be attracted to keep on watching all the way to the end.

When her piece was over, nobody knew whether Yan Shuyu knew that she was being recorded or that it was just a coincident, Yan Shuyu turned, smiled slightly, and her frontal shot was on full display. With all the built-up and the exquisite face at the very end, everybody was rattled to their cores.

Truth was, the internet influence was quite famed. He usually put a lot of work into his episodes and there was quite a bit of variety in his programs. Sunshine House was just the tail end and wasn't even the primary content of that episode. The influencer probably put her clip at the tail end purposefully with some expectations. The outcome probably exceeded his expectation. The very last half a minute of his episode was very popular. So popular, in fact, that many other influencers and media crop it out specifically and played it day and night. After an entire time, its fame remained high and continued to trend upward.

Among the youth nowadays, there were many loyal face-dawgs like Yan Shuyu. They were already glued to the screen. Yan Shuyu didn't think there was anything wrong with that. Even she had watched the clip over and over again on her cellphone and she felt like she was walking on clouds.

Yan Shuyu didn't care about anything else but just focused on playing on her cellphone. Luckily, they were returning the next day and the boss was more or less done with his work already. He didn't disturb her but made sure the kids were bathed and tucked them in.

Over the last month or so, the two brothers would sleep together occasionally. As such, Yan Shuyu had arranged for them to stay in the same room during their trip. Even though the boss had always booked luxury suites that had two to three bedrooms and the kids would be able to have their own rooms, Yan Shuyu figured that the kids might be scared being overseas for the first time and insisted that they sleep together.

The two little brothers seemed to be pleased with the arrangement as well. They seemed to be even closer than they were back home. Specifically, they were much less clingy toward Yan Shuyu and, sometimes, when they saw something interesting, they would ditch her and went check it out while holding hands with each other. Take now, for example, they weren't even too bothered by the fact that Yan Shuyu didn't come in person to tuck them in. Zhang Yuanjia only asked what Mommy was doing and nodded understandably when Zhou Qinhe vaguely told him that she was packing for their return trip.

"Good night." Zhou Qinhe turned the lights off after he watched the two boys laid down docilely and closed their eyes. He closed the door gently, went back into the master bedroom, and saw that Yan Shuyu was still sitting there tirelessly playing on her cellphone. Curious, he walked over and asked, "What you looking at, Yanyan?"

Yan Shuyu read another round of rainbow fart from the netizens and her head was as big as it could get. Proudly, she pulled the boss over to sit next to her. "Let me tell you. I am famed. You can find on the web...."

She went on and on about how she had become "famed" and showed him all the colorful praises from the netizens. "Look. All of them are praises for me."

It was so unexpected that even the boss seemed to be shocked. He even took the cellphone from Yan Shuyu and read on for a few minutes before he looked up at her. He seemed baffled, "You look to be very happy?"

Yan Shuyu nodded matter-of-factly, "I am so popular with so many people. Why shouldn't I be happy?"

Boss Zhou frowned slightly, "Aren't you worried?"

"Worried about what?" Yan Shuyu felt that the question was so odd but she quickly figured it out. She waved her hand casually and said, "Are you worry that after I am famed, our lives would be affected? Nah. Many stars try all they might and still couldn't get to that point. My fame will be short-lived and will be all gone before you know it. Don't worry, there will be no impact on our lives whatsoever."

Seeing that she showed no signs of worries or a guilty-conscience, he finally smiled helplessly. He should have known. Given her personality, she would not have been able to think about all possible long-term effects. Naturally, there was no reason for him to spell them out for her either.

Boss Zhou finally casually turned the cellphone off, gave her come compliments, and pulled her up, "Let's go to bed. We need to get up early to catch our flight tomorrow morning."

With her cellphone in the boss's hand, Yan Shuyu had no choice but to follow him to bed and did as she was told her cellphone 1 charging on the nightstand and she laid down to go to bed.

As usually, she fell asleep quickly and dreamed about her stardom.

They headed over to the airport first thing the next morning and it was still morning when they landed in the international airport back in China. The boss, who was always full of energy, took a quick shower and headed back to work in high spirit. Yan Shuyu, on the other hand, wasn't going to push herself that hard. She had been running around a lot in the last few days. It was fun, but also extremely tiring. She napped with the kiddos until the aunty woke them up for lunch.

Yan Shuyu hadn't paid too much attention to what was going on on the web ever since the boss had taken away her cellphone last night. In fact, she had only logged into WeChat when she was having lunch. As she was famed online, many friends had reached out to her on WeChat but she only replied to Yang Zifeng as his was the most urgent of them all. He had already sent her over 10 messages since the night before with the last few asking whether she was home yet, whether she was resting, and to get back to him once she was rested.

She could feel his urgency even through the cellphone screen. As such, he was the first one that she responded back to.

Yan Shuyu put down her cellphone and returned to eating after she had responded back to him. After she finished eating 10 or so minutes later, the door bell rang. The aunty went over to check. Then, she smiled and turned around. "It was Mr. Yang from downstairs."

All of the aunties already knew that their downstair neighbor was a good friend of Miss Yan and most of them had seen Manager Yang coming over with Tongtong before. Yan Shuyu was more or less done eating, so she picked up a tissue and said, "Oh, let him in."

Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi, too, were done eating. Yan Shuyu figured that her little buddy must have rushed over because there was something specific that he wanted to talk about. As such, she sent the kids to their room to play games or watch cartoons, or even practice their piano together. For sure they would not need to nap this afternoon.

The kiddos went upstairs docilely and the aunty brought Yang Zifeng inside. When he saw Yan Shuyu, he let out a sigh. "Yanyan, you guys are back finally."

Yan Shuyu was surprised that he was over there as well. "Didn't you say our shop is famed now? Shouldn't you be super busy right now? How come you are over here?"

Manager Yang plopped down on her couch like an old friend. Wiping away the non existing sweat, he said, "It is very busy. That's why I come here to hide out."

That sounded like there was more behind it. She sat down also and asked, "What's going on?"

"You still don't know?"

Yan Shuyu blinked blankly at him and Manager Yang waved his hand. "We can talk about that later. All in all, your popularity still hasn't come down and your name and our coffee shop are talked about all over the place. Customers come rushing in and lots of media as well. Many who I know or don't know called me and offered to invest and expand our shop."

"That's sounds great." Yan Shuyu didn't have a lot of work experience but she wasn't an idiot. She at least knew that having investors meant money rolling in. As such, her little buddy's reaction was confusing to her. "Why are you hiding out then?"

"But these people are not idiots. They have conditions for their investments."

"Bad terms?"

"But these people are not idiots. They have conditions for their investments."

"Bad terms?"

"Many of them are negotiable but key is they wanted me to keep you. They know that you are just a part-timer who can leave at any point and asked me to find a way to keep you. That's the condition for their investment." Manager Yang summarized it, "To put it bluntly, they just want to leech off of your popularity."

Yan Shuyu nodded. She finally understood why her little buddy was looking for her urgently. Too bad her job right now was so presentable with high pay. Naturally, she would not be returning to the coffee shop.
