In Yan Shuyu's mind, as the place that the boss has rented for her was similar to that of Manager Yang's, naturally their remodeling would be similar except that the boss's taste might be more refined and the furniture and décor more luxurious?

She hadn't expected that their "home" would be so unique.

They arrived at the new place at around 4:30 PM, and it was already starting to get dark outside. Even though the place was naturally well lit, the boss still turned on the lights immediately. The moment that Yan Shuyu stepped inside, she immediately felt that the décor of the place was particularly delicate and warm. Under the glow of the fancy chandelier, the blingbling made her eyes beam immediately.

She had no idea how such a luxurious house could radiate such a girly feel to it. Yan Shuyu was not disappointed at all that the luxurious mansion in her mind was nowhere to be seen. She had never lived in a luxurious mansion before, but neither has she ever lived in a blingbling princess castle. And the latter was the one that every girl would find irresistible.

Yan Shuyu, looking up with her girly heart, stared at the crystal chandelier for a while before she lamented from the bottom of her heart, "This is gorgeous. Secretary Lu's taste is so impeccable."

As the boss had told her that this place was prepared by Secretary Lu, Yan Shuyu naturally gave Secretary Lu all the credits. She even thought to herself that only a girl could understand another girl.

Boss Zhou, who was standing behind Yan Shuyu and watching her reaction quietly, took a look at her and asked tenderly, "Do you like this place?"

Yan Shuyu nodded with no hesitation, and Zhou Qinhe chuckled with contentment. "Good. If you like this place, then all the work was not in vain."

The boss sounded very nonchalant nor did he show any particular emotions, but Yan Shuyu oddly got the feeling that the boss was fishing for credit. He didn't need to compete with his secretary, did he? Suppressing that illogical thought, Yan Shuyu gave the boss a hesitant look. "Em... didn't you say this was all Secretary Lu's doing?"

"Yes, she was the one who handled the nitty gritty details and the day-to-days," explained Boss Zhou casually. "But I was the one who communicated with the design team."

Yan Shuyu was now enlightened. So it was the boss's idea to decorate this place to her liking! Pleasantly surprised, she threw her arms around the boss and asked, "So it was your idea? What prompted you to use this design?"

Looking at the blingbling style, Yan Shuyu couldn't help but wonder if there was also a little princess residing inside of the boss.

As though he could read her mind, Zhou Qinhe gave her a glance and said nonchalantly, "I figured this is what you'd like after I have seen your place."

Yan Shuyu blinked in surprise. "You have someone designed this place based on my old place?"

She still couldn't quite figure it out. There was nothing similar between her last place and this one.

But the boss had already confirmed it so Yan Shuyu bought into it. She appreciated it even more. Rocking the boss's arm back and forth, her voice was sweet like it had been coated with honey. "I've read online that it's very tedious and painful to communicate with the designers. Thank you so much."

Now she understood how much work the boss had put into this.

He could be completely hands-off, but he insisted on being an active participant. Knowing that he had put so much thought into it made Yan Shuyu even happier.

Boss Zhou, as much as he looked as indifferent as he could be, was secretly enjoying her admiration for him. He smiled and said, "Oh yeah, how are you going to thank me then?"

"I can give you an award," replied Yan Shuyu without giving it much thought. "Friend of Girls."

She felt for sure that the boss would understand what she meant by that. Nevertheless, Boss Zhou, who had always been nonchalant, twitched his life. He gave her a mortified look. "Who is this girl?"

Yan Shuyu stuck out her chest proudly. She was so young and pretty. Not only was she a girl, she's a pretty girl at that.

Boss Zhou,

Even his eyelids twitched this time, and he quietly switched the subject. "Never mind about the award. Your appreciation will have to do."

"Oh, don't worry about it." Yan Shuyu was still pressing for it. "I can order it from Taobao. It can be a badge, a trophy, or a flag and be mailed to your doorstep. It's very convenient."

As soon as she was done talking, Boss Zhou had held her by her hand and started up the stairs. "Don't you want to check out the bedrooms upstairs first? Weren't you envious of the home theater that Manager Yang has? I've put one in our place as well."

Yan Shuyu, who's attention had already been drawn to the bedrooms and home theater, did not notice the boss's word choice. Yes, in just a few minutes' time, she still figured out what he meant to tell her.

Once they were upstairs, Yan Shuyu and the two little kiddos followed the boss and checked out the rooms one by one. According to the boss, there was a piano room, kids' bedroom, animation room, etc. and a few guest rooms, just in case.

The upstairs was relatively quieter. Going down the hallway in order was the home theater, study, and bedrooms. Her bedroom was the one located at the very end with the best lights.

The master bedroom was huge, almost the size of a suite in a hotel. There was a retreat inside of it along with a huge walk-in closet. The bathtub inside the bathroom was double sized. The kind that the little male lead could easily swim inside of it. The patio was amazing as well. Its size notwithstanding, there were already flowers and other leafy plants there. There was a set of tables and chairs in the middle along with a smart sun umbrella. It looked more like a terrace than a patio.

This was 100 times fancier than her little buddy's place. Yan Shuyu was stunned, but just when she was swallowed by joy, she noticed that something was wrong.

Secretary Lu had very good attention to details. Even when they were touring downstairs, Yan Shuyu had already noticed that not only was the remodeling brand new along with new furniture, all of the daily essentials were also complete. From kitchenware to utensils to towels in the bathrooms, etc. etc.

The bedrooms were even more so. Never mind the bedsheets and blankets, there were also all sorts of cosmetics and skincare products on the vanity table. The collection was more complete than a counter at a department store. Particularly the skincare products, they were all of the brands that she couldn't afford in the past.

Yan Shuyu was mostly excited when she saw all these personal items. As much as she already owed the boss, she had stopped worrying about it. She was already going to live in the luxurious mansion that the boss has rented for her, so what's some makeup and skincare products?

Secretary Lu was such a thoughtful person, or that it was all the boss's idea for her to do so. Anyways, perhaps even her clothes would be ready for her and all she needed to do was to move in here with just her purse.

Yan Shuyu was stunned when she went over to the walk-in closet.

The walk-in closet was as complete as the rest of the house. There were clothes, shoes, and purses. Yan Shuyu was startled when she noticed that other than the pretty clothes and accessories, half of the closet was occupied by men's clothing.

Why were there men's clothing?

Yan Shuyu had a bad feeling all of a sudden. She turned and looked at the boss. "Em... do you plan on staying here as well?"

The two of them were the only ones inside of the bedroom right now. Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi were happily rolling around on the soft carpet of the kid's bedroom, not wanting to leave. As Yan Shuyu gave the boss the look of her questioning the meaning of life, the boss merely nodded nonchalantly, "Mmm."

Just like that, he had admitted to it shamelessly. Yan Shuyu couldn't help but ask again, "Why?"

"Why do you mean why?"

She had wanted to confront the boss about why he said he had rented this place for her if he really rented it for himself. But, right before she said anything, she realized that when she had questioned about "this place being too big for just her and her son", the boss did not respond. He may have misled her on purpose, but mostly she was tricked because she had filled in too much of the details herself. The boss didn't really do that much to fool her.

She had focused so much on being able to take advantage of the boss that she never stopped to think how it could be so easy.

The words were at the tip of her tongue when she realized that she didn't have the ground to stand on. Her stance weakened, she asked softly, "Well, if you are going to stay here yourself, I guess it won't be wasteful after all. Do I... still need to move here?"

Zhou Qinhe finally had a change of tune. With his brows raised, he gave her a smile that wasn't quite a smile and said, "Is that a problem?"

In the last few months that they have been dating, the boss was like a different person and extremely agreeable when it came to Yan Shuyu. He had never once said a mean word to her let alone being unhappy with her. Even so, his temperament as someone at the apex of the hierarchy was not something that could be concealed. That, along with her wariness from knowing the plotline meant that Yan Shuyu had never acted freely with no regards to the consequences of her actions no matter how agreeable he had been. She had always maintained a baseline of respect for the boss. As such, when he seemed minorly displeased, she gave in immediately, "No, no, of course not..."

At this very critical moment, Yan Shuyu immediately found an excuse for herself. "It was so sudden that I'm just a bit shy."

Seeing the blush that she had forced onto herself, Boss Zhou finally stopped giving her his piercing look and went back to his tender self. He even took a step forward and put his arms around her lovingly. He said to her gently, "It's alright. You will get used to it."

Yan Shuyu got it right away that there was no room for negotiation.

This was when she finally figured out that the boss hasn't been too busy to show her this place all along, but that he had intentionally waited until this entire place was move-in ready before he showed it to her. After days of anticipation and her excitement of moving into a luxurious house was at its all-time high, once she looked at this place that had already been cleaned up and ready to move in, how would she be able to resist that temptation?

Of course she wouldn't! With a slight threat from the boss, she had given in entirely. T.T

And that was how Yan Shuyu had agreed to cohabiting with the boss. A luxurious mansion for two had immediately turned into cohabitation of four.

Yan Shuyu started packing that same day even though there was still a month left on her own rental contract.

The boss was truly busy this time and went overseas for work again, leaving the little young master and the chauffeur to Yan Shuyu.

Yan Shuyu was a frugal one. As such, there was still a lot to move between herself and her son. She had to even utilize child labors.

The two child laborers were quite excited. Even with their cheeks flushed from the work they didn't complain about being tired.

With her two little child laborers in tow, Yan Shuyu ran into Manager Yan in the elevator lobby of her new place.

"Oh, you are moving in already?" Yang Zifeng greeted her excitedly. "I thought you are going to have me give you a hand?"

Yan Shuyu said to him shyly, "We are already done with the moving."

Yang Zifeng had been to her place and had a pretty good idea that their possession was way more than that. He only took a couple looks over at the bags on the floor and suddenly smiled as though he had something figured out. Smiling, he asked, "Then can I go upstairs with you and take a tour?"

Yan Shuyu smiled too. "Please do."

"So you guys are staying over here starting tonight?" Yang Zifeng stroked the head of both of the child laborers and said with a smile, "I'll take you all out to hot pot tonight as a celebration then."

Yan Shuyu was even happier now. The little child laborers, too, looked up and smiled at him sweetly. "Thank you, Big Brother Yang."

With the new place being so spacious Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi no longer need to squeeze together and each of them had their own bedroom and a spacious bed. Their two bedrooms were attached and they could be together for all times other than when they went to bed. The two of them even shared a large walk-in closet and both of them were very pleased with the arrangement that they were closed together but still able to have their own space.

After the two boys ran into their respective bedrooms, they both ran back out cutely with their pajamas in their arms and said that they wanted to bath in Yan Shuyu's room. They had been eyeing her bathtub that was big enough for them to swim in for a while now.

Shortly, the two naked boys were splashing water at each other happily inside of the large bathtub that Yan Shuyu was supposed to be the first to enjoy.
