Both the mother and son were stunned, especially Zhong Yuhuan. He had been going on and on until he saw the gift from his little buddy and all of a sudden had no idea how to behave. Coming from a single-parent family had made him a more sensitive person. Zhang Yuanjia might seem outgoing and optimistic and was also spoiled and praised wherever he went, but he was still not used to this kind of mild kindness, especially when they came from someone his age. He stuttered, “That is so sudden. Did you prepare it? Is this a good idea…”

Yan Shuyu was a little stunned before she had it figured out. She saw that the suit in her hand has the same type of striped pattern and teased, “You want to be dressed like brothers?”

As soon as she finished saying that, Zhou Yi’s face reddened. The two of them looked like there was some brokeback mountain going on. But, her words made the two of them become more comfortable. Zhang Yuanjia even took the suit over. Like an adult would do, he held it in front of himself to check out the size. Nobody could tell what was his conclusion on it, but he said happily to his little buddy, “Thank you, Xiao Yi.”

Zhou Yi pursed his lips happily and his dimples were somewhat visible. “You are welcome.”

Zhang Yuanjia stroked the suit admiringly. He looked over at Zhou Yi’s suit, then at his own. His lips curved upward. He, too, has a suit now. Yan Shuyu had one custom made for him for his birthday and spent several hundreds of yuan. The style and materials were decent, but now he has two sets!

The reason that he liked the gift from his little buddy so much wasn’t because he was materialistic or that he was able to tell the value of the suit at his early age. He had wanted a suit because he saw how good his little buddy looked in them. Even though his mother had one custom made for him, it just wasn’t the same. He was very pleasantly surprised because Zhou Yi gave him a new set that was identical to his own.

When the two little boys were done talking about suits, they became very curious with all the items that Yan Shuyu had pulled out from the suitcase like magic. They both decided to squat there and watch her. That’s when they found out that there were more gifts than just the suit – there was also an identical set of pajamas.

Both of them hanged onto their pajamas as they continued to watch Yan Shuyu emptied out the suitcase.

“Finally.” Yan Shuyu, finally finishing up her task, looked at the two kiddos squatting there absorbed at watching her, raised her eyebrows, and said, “Are you two done playing? Then go shower. We even have the pajamas readied already.”

This time though, Zhang Yuanjia, who had always been very obedient, didn’t move. Zhou Yi gave him a look and also remained squatting where he was.

Zhang Yuanjia blinked his eyes and asked curiously, “Did Xiao Yi need that many clothes for just tomorrow?”

That made sense, thought Yan Shuyu. The little male lead brought a formal set and a casual set of clothes. He didn’t have three heads and six pairs of arms, so naturally, he could only wear one of the two sets. She opened up the suitcase and asked, “Okay, which set would you like to wear tomorrow? We can put the other one back into the suitcase.”

And it’d go home with him tomorrow.

The little male lead looked up at her with his cute face and asked, “Can we not put it back into the suitcase?”

Yan Shuyu had a bad feeling. “Where do you want it then?”

The little kiddo pointed at their closet. He might look shy, but he was bold. Leaving his clothes here meant he could come over whenever from now on.

Yan Shuyu, “……”

She finally realized her mistake of inviting the wolf into her house, but why was the wolf that she drew the little male lead and not the boss? If it was the boss, she could at least devour him and be comforted. Now that it was the little male lead, she couldn’t do anything to him except wait on him. What a bummer!

Yan Shuyu thought about it some more. Even luring the boss over to her place was pointless. It wasn’t like the environment at her place would allow it. Wasn’t it even more upsetting if she could only look but not touch? The little male lead was arguably the better option here.

She felt better and happily accepted reality. “Okay, I will put it into the closet for you. You two go take a bath after I put things away, alright?”

The two boys repeatedly nodded, each nod more enthusiastic than the last. Yan Shuyu walked over to the closet with a pile of clothes in her hand. Yan Shuyu and her instant son didn’t have a lot of clothes, but the closet wasn’t all that big either. There was no way she would empty out an entire drawer for the little male lead. The best she could do was to organize hers and her son’s clothes and placed the little male lead’s coat with hers and his shirts and pants with her son’s. When she felt that she had completed her mission, she clapped her hands and said, “Will that work?”

The very particular little young master did not express any unpleasantness. Quite the contrary, he smiled a happy smile. Perhaps he felt that this way he had completely blended in with them? The little young master gave a satisfied smile and said, “Thank you, Aunty Yan.”

“You are welcome.” Yan Shuyu closed the closet temperlessly and patted them on their heads. “Now go bathe.”

Time had flashed by, it was already 9 PM. Yan Shuyu really wanted to hurry up, but the two little boys were very courteous toward each other.

“Does Xiao Yi want to go bathe first?”

“How about Yuanbao goes first?”

Yan Shuyu, looking at the time, just said, “Why don’t the both of you go together?”

Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi turned and looked at her at the same time. Yan Shuyu felt that her idea was wonderful. The little young master had been very pampered, and she was already mentally prepared that she’d have to help him bathe. As for her own son, even though he knew how to do everything himself from a very early age, the price she had to pay was that he was very slow at it. As such, she might as well bathe them both together, that way it’d only be half the work.

Yan Shuyu, who had happily made up her mind, decided against giving them the chance to reject her suggestion. She picked up one little carrot with each arm and brought them into the bathroom. As they have mentioned that they wanted to put on the bath towels and be little dinosaurs, she didn’t bring any pajamas in there with her. She hung the two identical bath towels on the hook, locked the bathroom door, and said forcefully, “Okay, start stripping. I want to see which one of you can do it faster.”

Affected by her “aggressiveness”, the little kiddos dare not complain and started stripping quietly. Yan Shuyu did not just sit around. She scrubbed out her son’s designated bathtub and added hot water and bubble bath inside of it. Just a little bit of it made it foam up. Zhang Yuanjia nicely exclaimed from behind her, “Mom! The bubbles are blue!”

Yan Shuyu, “So jump in quickly then.”

Zhang Yuanjia being slow was all relative. By the time Yan Shuyu finished talking and turned around, he had already stripped down to his underwear and socks. Zhou Yi, next to him, was still struggling with his buttons. Yan Shuyu felt helpless for two seconds, pulled over her son, quickly stripped him of the rest of his clothes and said to him, “Darling, you soak in here first. I’ll go help Xiao Yi get undressed.”

A few seconds later, Zhou Yi, too, was naked. He even knew that boys and girls are different and tried very hard to keep his underwear on but failed. He finally climbed into the bathtub with his cheeks red.

The weather was turning cold. Yan Shuyu had been worried that her son was slow when he bathed himself and would get sick, so she bought him a new bathtub that was twice the size of his old one. That way it could hold more hot water and she wouldn’t have to worry about the water getting cold.

Because of this new bathtub, she was able to have the two of them bathe together. When Zhou Yi got inside the bathtub, the water was up to his chest and the bubbles reached his chin. He was truly having a bubble bath. Zhang Yuanjia was slightly taller than him, but the bubbles were also up to his shoulders.

It was the first time for the both of them to bathe with someone else. The two of them sat across from each other and, naturally, their legs touched. The two little kiddos looked at each other back and forth. Suddenly, both of them started to giggle.

The giggling had very much wiped away all of the tension. Zhang Yuanjia was much more relaxed and Zhou Yi’s cheeks were less red. The both of them started to enjoy the bath despite being crammed inside the same tub.

Yan Shuyu had already walked over with a washcloth. The bathroom was filled by the bathtub and she had nowhere to even stand. She could only stand right by the door. As such, little Zhou Yi, who was the closer one to her, was grabbed as she started to scrub him down from head to toe.

Zhou Yi was relaxed after he had giggled and wasn’t too shy when he was grabbed by Aunty Yan even though the temperature in his cheeks had gone up again. By the time Aunty Yan got to his armpits and the bottom of his feet, he was giggling all over again.

Every time he giggled, Zhang Yuanjia would laugh with him. The laughter of the two boys resounded inside of the bathroom. Even Yan Shuyu’s lips couldn’t help but start to curve upward. Her motion was even smoother, and she was done with one child in two minutes.

Pushing the little male lead aside, she said, “Okay, you are done Xiao Yi. Go soak on the side. It’s now Yuanbao’s turn.”

She wasn’t sure whether Zhang Yuanjia was jealous or enjoying the atmosphere when his mother was scrubbing down his little buddy but instead of being his usual efficient self, he was very focused on playing with the bubbles. He eagerly swam toward his mother when he heard his name and was also scrubbed down from head to toe by his mother.

Now that she had been rearing a child for a while, Yan Shuyu started to get the hang of it. She scrubbed the both of them down first then rinse them both at the same time. Once the bubbles were all rinsed off, her job was done and it was much easier to just carry them out that way.

Plus, they both wanted to wear their bath towels, which made it even easier on her part. She dried them, wrapped them in the big bath towel, carried them directly onto bed before she told them, “Don’t run around now that you don’t have slippers on. Call me if you want to get out of the bed, alright?”

“Okay!” the two little kiddos nodded one after the other before they put on their dinosaur hood and started cosplaying like they had wanted to all along.

Yan Shuyu did not wait around for them. She still needed to clean up the bathroom and get herself ready for bed, so she quickly returned to the bathroom.

The truth had proven that with more kids, even a normally well behaved one would become rambunctious.

Yan Shuyu had just pulled the bath tub out, put it away, and tossed the little kiddos’ clothes into the washing machine when she heard them calling out to her.

“Mom, Mom, Mom….”

“Aunty Yan…”

Yan Shuyu, very worried that the neighbors would complain, resorted to walking over to them. “Shhhh. Can you keep your voice level down?”

As such, Zhang Yuanjia leaned in and whispered to her, “Mom, we want to video chat with Uncle Zhou. Can you connect us with him?”

Zhou Yi looked at her with anticipation.

“Video chat with Uncle Zhou?” Yan Shuyu looked at the two cute little things and chuckled. “You two are full of ideas for sure.”

She didn’t turn them down but picked up her cellphone and sent the boss a text via WeChat as she explained to the kids, “Uncle Zhou is at work right now. Let me check with him and see if this is a good time for him first.”

And the two little kids blinked and stared at her…. cellphone, waiting for a reply.
