《Male Lead's Villainess Stepmother》Chapter 66 - The Two Little Dinosaurs

As soon as she had finished saying that, Yan Shuyu saw Zhang Yang pull out a fairly sizable suitcase from the trunk of the car. He smiled at her and said, “I have the little young master’s luggage here. It’s quite heavy. Let me bring it up for you.”
Yan Shuyu looked at the kid’s backpack in her hand and was dumbfounded. “Isn’t this his luggage?”
Why did he need such a big suitcase for just one night? Wasn’t that a bit of an overkill?
“The butler worried that the little young master did not grab everything on his own, so he packed some more,” explained Zhang Yang with a smile. “He also prepared some for Young Master Yuanbao as well.”
After the last few times, Zhang Yuanbao had also gone from “Young Master Zhang” to the affectionate “Young Master Yuanbao” with Uncle Zhang. He seemed to like that title a lot and smiled at Uncle Zhang with his eyes curved.
Yan Shuyu had no choice but to nod wordlessly. “Okay. Thanks for your help then.”
She was too silly. How could she really think that a small backpack would be enough for the little young master to come over and be a house guest at her place? Come to think about it, of course a large suitcase like the one that Zhang Yang was carrying would be good enough for the little young master.
Boss Zhou was such a particular person that anyone who could work with him long term would also be impeccable in their work. Zhang Yang carried the suitcase to the front door. Before Yan Shuyu said a word, he immediately expressed that, “Miss Yang, two young masters. I am going to head out now.”
Even if Yan Shuyu had felt that she should share some pleasantries and offer him a cup of tea or something, she wouldn’t be able to when he seemed like he was in such a hurry. She waved and smiled at him. “Have a safe trip back then.”
Zhang Yang nodded and left in brisk steps. Yan Shuyu watched him walk away for a bit before she turned back around and opened up her front door. The two boys next two her had already been waiting the entire time, especially the little male lead. As soon as the front door was opened up, his mouth dropped open and he let out an ignorant exclamation. “It’s so mini!”
The little young master looked at this apartment that was smaller than the bathroom in his house. There was no resentment or discomfort in his eyes. Quite the contrary, his eyes were filled with amazement. That was not a reaction that Yan Shuyu had expected, but she didn’t dwell on that too much. She just felt that the little male lead had amazing adaptability and along with that, a bit of a heartache. The wealthy, sure enough, had a very interesting perspective on things. Her “noble apartment” that costs her thousands of yuan a month turned into a nostalgia thing in the eyes of the prestigious family little young master. Ouch.
Even Yan Shuyu almost started hating the wealthy. Zhang Yuanjia’s mood, on the other hand, was very well balanced. He took his little buddy’s marvel as a praise and held his hand in excitement as he spoke, “Yes. Do you like it? Let me show you around!”
Zhou Yi nodded seriously. “Alright.”
As excited as Zhang Yuanjia was with his little buddy coming over as a guest for the first time, he did not forget the rules. Holding his little buddy’s hand, he said to him, “Let’s go. Let’s change out of our shoes first. Mommy spends a lot of time mopping the floor so we shouldn’t get the floor dirty.”

The very next second, the very passionate little host went quiet as he looked at their shoe rack. “Um… it doesn’t look like we have slippers for you…”
Yan Shuyu saw the two of them standing from the front door and wanted to rush them inside as well. She suggested casually, “Why don’t the two of you decide which one of you will wear the slippers and the other one can just walk inside in their socks? I just mopped the floor yesterday, it’s still pretty clean.”
Zhou Yi expressed in a very mature fashion to let Yuanbao have the slippers before he squatted down to take off his own shoes. It was only that he was a bit rushed and fell and landed on his bottom. It probably didn’t hurt. He only rubbed his bottom and continued to take his shoes off.
Zhang Yuanjia, as though making a point, squatted down to take his shoes off as well. Him being 6 months older, he quickly caught up to his little buddy. Since the little young master would fall onto the floor when trying to squat, it was obvious that he was pampered most of the time. Zhang Yuanjia, on the other hand, had been very independent since he was a young kid and was naturally more efficient than his little buddy.
Yan Shuyu didn’t pay too much attention to the other details. When she noticed it, the two boys were already standing next to each other in their socks. Zhou Yi saw Zhang Yuanjia putting the shoes that he had taken off into the simple shoe rack and mimicked him and placed his own leather shoes on there as well. And then, neither one of them paid the fuzzy pair of little slippers any attention before they ran off into the apartment holding hands.
They were so excited that Yan Shuyu didn’t want to remind them that they had forgotten their slippers. She merely said to them, “Now that your socks are on the floor, don’t climb into bed before you shower. Do you hear me?”
Both Zhang Yuanbao and little Zhou Yi acknowledged her and then Zhang Yuanjia, like a good host, started introducing the items in the house to his little buddy. “This is the electrical piano given to me by Tongtong. It’s a little smaller than a real piano, which is why we are able to have it inside of our apartment. This is the cello given to my mom by Instructor Liu. I am taking cello lessons as well. It’s too late tonight and Mommy said we can’t disturb our neighbors. We can practice together tomorrow.”
This was probably the first time the little young master, with his custom-made, top-to-the-line piano, has seen such a “mini” little piano. He gave a “Oh mi!” as a response and Zhang Yuanjia was pleased. He was even more passionate than before when he took his little buddy over to the bay window and shared with him, “This is the storybook that Mommy reads to me before I go to bed. And then this the toy that you have given me. I play with it every day!”
Zhang Yuanbao was perfectly fine taking care of his little house guest all by himself. Yan Shuyu wasn’t going to complain about that. She changed out of her own shoes and boiled some drinking water for later before she dragged the little male lead’s suitcase next to the bed. There was more room there, and she’d be able to open the suitcase.
Zhou Yi’s cartoon backpack was sitting on top of the little nightstand. He didn’t trouble his Aunty Yan for that. He carried that all by himself when he walked inside of the house.

Yan Shuyu, too, casually sat down on the floor as she consulted the little male lead. “Xiao Yi, you two have fun. Would you like me to organize your suitcase for you?”
It wasn’t that she really wanted to do that, but there were only the three of them inside of the apartment. She couldn’t possibly count on Zhang Yuanjia or Zhou Yi for that.
Yan Shuyu knew full well that she wouldn’t be able to dodge this bullet. She might as well get this straighten out so she could go to bed earlier.
“Thank you, Aunty Yan,” said Zhou Yi courteously as he slid down from the bay window and pitter pattered in front of Yan Shuyu. It almost seemed that he realized that this was a hassle. Unfortunately, as soon as he came over, Zhang Yuanjia came over as well. The little area wasn’t even enough to put the suitcase down.
Yan Shuyu waved at the two of them impatiently and said, “I will organize this slowly. You two go and entertain yourselves.”
The little kiddos were sent a few steps away from her. Then, with a roll of his eyes, Zhang Yuanjia said proudly to his little buddy, “Xiao Yi, I’ll treat you to some cookies.”
He then pitter pattered over to the refrigerator.
This was the refrigerator that the landlord had prepared for them. It was half a meter tall and only had one compartment. Yan Shuyu usually kept some ice-cream or snacks inside of it. The size of the compartment was about the same as that of a regular refrigerator. The size was plenty as they didn’t cook at home. Most importantly, it wasn’t very tall so Zhang Yuanjia was able to get to most of the items inside without the help from Yan Shuyu.
The cookies he was referring to were cookies with nuts made by a pastry chef at Sunshine House. Ever since Yan Shuyu had joined Sunshine House, it had become more and more well-known. Now that a few months had passed, it had already gone from a “small viral coffee shop” to just a “viral coffee shop”. They had a constant stream of healthy traffic every day.
Words had it that a lot of out of town visitors would look for their place specifically. The coffee shop has two stories and the area was big enough. Expansion would not be necessary. Manager Yang had, however, hired more help to accommodate the increase in traffic. He even recruited a pastry chef at the end of last month for a handsome amount.
As a coffee shop, cakes and other pastries were necessary. They were also not cheap, but when they were ordered externally, they merely tasted alright. There was nothing special to speak of. With the arrival of the new pastry chef, they were able to offer new products every few days in addition to their regular menu. Their revenue from pastries also increased accordingly.
That was not the main point. The main point was that the little big sister pastry chef was a single female in her thirties. Words had it that she has been in this field for over ten years. Manager Yang was only able to recruit her after a referral from a friend. Once she started working there, she hit it off with Zhang Yuanjia right away and she was in love with him. Single women like her had no resistance toward little boys like Zhang Yuanjia with his clean and handsome little face and personality like a little prince
The way pastry chef Han-jie showed her fondness toward Zhang Yuanjia was to make him delicious pastries from time to time. She’d custom make him little bunny cookies, nut cookies, etc. with unique designs and ingredients. Which was why Zhang Yuanjia gloated proudly about treating Zhou Yi to his cookies.
As much as Zhang Yuanjia enjoyed the cookies baked for him by Aunty Han, he also followed his mother’s no-more-than-two-a-day rule strictly. He’d get cavities if he has more, so said Mommy.
He was a little kid with very good self-control. He kept to his words and never tried to have more than he was allowed. That meant Yan Shuyu had no need to worry about it. Zhang Yuanjia would keep them where he wanted to keep them and eat them whenever he wanted to. Naturally, he preferred leaving them on the bottom shelf inside the refrigerator where he could get to easily.
Pulling out the cute cookie box, little kiddo Zhang Yuanbao shared his cookies with his little buddy in a cherishing manner. “Two for you and two for me.”
Just in case that his little buddy thought he was being stingy, he even added, “Mommy said having too much would give us cavities. That means getting bugs inside of our teeth and it is very painful.”
The little kiddo gestured it with his hands as he talked, “The kind of long and dark bugs…”
Zhou Yi shuddered from his description, and he almost didn’t even want to eat any of the cookies. Zhang Yuanjia, who had tried too hard, quickly patted him on his shoulder and comforted him, “It’s fine if we have no more than two a day.”
Then, he laid out plans like an adult. “We have two tonight and two in the morning. That’d make four, right?”
Zhou Yi nodded hesitantly. He watched as Yuanbao placed a finger-shaped one into his mouth and chewed it loudly before he, too, tried a small bite. His eyes lit up. “Oh, it’s delicious. And not too sweet.”
“You like it too, right?” Zhang Yuanjia happily shared, “These were made by Aunty Han. I said I didn’t like them too sweet so she put very little sugar in them.”
As though he had suddenly thought about something, before Zhou Yi said anything else, he shoved the remaining cookies into his hand and said, “Xiao Yi, hang on to these for a second. Let me bring a couple to Mom as well.”
Having said that, Zhang Yuanbao ran over to Yan Shuyu with the cookie box in hand and shoved a cookie into her mouth. Yan Shuyu opened up her mouth. She didn’t savor it as much as the children did and finished one in a few bites. Then, she opened up her mouth at her son again and said, “Thanks son. Give me another one.”
Zhang Yuanjia fed her another one before he happily put the lid back on and lectured his mother, “You can’t have more, Mommy. You will have cavities.”
Yan Shuyu, “……”
After he was done feeding his mother, Zhang Yuanjia put the box carefully back into the refrigerator. He went back over to his little buddy and resumed eating. It so happened that the glass of water that Yan Shuyu had poured for them was cooling down in temperature. With the closeness between the two growing quickly, the two of them ate the cookies and took turns drinking from the glass one after another without any second thoughts.
Yan Shuyu, sitting on the floor and organizing the little male lead’s items from his backpack, fell silence when she saw the two to three items she had laid out on top of the bed – a traveling mug for brushing his teeth, a pair of underwear, and fuzzy dinosaur towels. That was everything that the little young master had packed for himself.
No wonder their butler had packed an extra case.
Yan Shuyu, once again, felt ashamed of herself for trusting the little young master. =.=
Just when she was questioning the meaning of life, Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi had finished their snacks and happily walked over to where she was. Zhang Yuanjia was pleasantly surprised when he saw the bath towel on the bed. “Dinosaur! I have the same one!”
He pitter pattered over to the bathroom and brought his own towel over to show it to his little buddy. “See? They are the same, right?”
The little kiddo let out an exclamation cooperatively. “Oh yeah! You are right!”
Yan Shuyu rolled her eyes and started on the large suitcase as she commented, “Of course they are the same. I was the one who bought both of them.”
Although the boss was the one who paid for them. →_→ But there was no reason to dwell on minor details?
Even though she had shattered the well-kept secret, Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi were still very excited. Zhang Yuanjia stroked the claw on the dinosaur towel and said, “Let’s put them on after taking a bath and pretend that we are dinosaurs!”
Exactly, there are fuzzy dinosaur paws on the bath towels along with a green hat and a tail. All they had to do was to be wrapped in the towel and immediately cosplay as little dinosaurs.
Zhang Yuanjia had already been losing interest in cosplay, but he was excited all over again in his little buddy’s company.
Zhou Yi was probably in the same boat as him. He was excited about just about anything when he has a partner in crime. His little face lit up when he said, “Okay!”
While they were discussing, Aunty Yan continued to pull out all the other items from the suitcase one by one. The butler had been very thorough. There were two coats, one set of suits, a down jacket, along with sweaters, shirts, pants, shoes, socks, etc.
Suddenly, as though he had spotted something, Zhou Yi forced his way in all of a sudden and pulled out a set of clothes from the bottom of the suitcase that Yan Shuyu has yet to get to. It was a striped suit. He then said to both Aunty Yan and his little buddy, “This set is for Yuanbao!”
