Yan Shuyu couldn’t very well say that out loud. She wrecked her brain and suddenly recalled that there was still one more reason that she had not used with the little male lead. She immediately embellished it some in her mind and used it with the boss. “I also feel that our place is too simple and crude and has only one bed. It’s fine if Xiao Yi comes over for a playdate, but if he’s going to spend the night, he’d have to share the same bed with Yuanbao and I. I don’t think he’d be comfortable with that. Won’t you say?”

Her reasoning sounded so grandeur that Zhou Qinhe chuckled and said, “That’s very thoughtful of you.”

Yan Shuyu took that as he had accepted her reason and smiled with even more complacency.

Awesome. She had successfully handled the little male lead and his villain stepbrother, and now, she even took care of the boss. She was such a genius in the making.

Yan Shuyu, whose tail was sticking straight up toward the sky by now, chatted with the boss on and off for the next few minutes before the boss arrived at the office and was ready to start his day. Yan Shuyu was starting to get sleepy, and she yawned. “Okay, you go take care of work. Have a nice day. I’m turning in.”

Zhou Qinhe smiled and said to her, “Goodnight. Sweet dreams.”

There was a hint of magnetism within his lowered voice and he sounded extremely s*xy. Yan Shuyu bathed in his s*xiness for a few seconds and did, indeed, have a sweet dream with his “sweet dreams”.

The dream was sweet but the reality, not so much. Yan Shuyu was only complacent for two days. By the afternoon of the third day, she suddenly received a call from Zhang Yang without her initiating it. It was the little male lead’s milky voice that came over the phone, “Aunty Yan, can I go play with you today?”

Yan Shuyu was stunned silent immediately. She hadn’t expected the conservative and distant little male lead would be so forward and called to ask to come over.

Seeing how he was still young and she was dating his dad, Yan Shuyu couldn’t really deny him. She smiled and said, “Sure. C’mon over.”

“Okay, see you in a bit.” The little male lead hung up after he formally ended the phone call with her.

Yan Shuyu sought out Manager Yan and her little buddies and told them what had happened only to have her little buddies gossip and teased her about it.

It wasn’t a weekend plus there was a visit from a prestigious family’s little young master. Manager Yang was as nice as usual. “Why don’t you take off at 6 today then?”

Yan Shuyu, naturally, did not object to taking off early without having her pay docked.

Not too long after that, the little young master arrived at Sunshine House, over an hour before her son would be getting out of school. Yan Shuyu had no idea why he came over so early, but she didn’t ask out loud. She was distracted by the backpack in Zhang Yang’s hand. “He brought so much stuff with him?”

Even though Zhang Yang was the one carrying the backpack, Yan Shuyu was pretty sure the content inside of it belonged to the little male lead. This was the backpack that she bought at the amusement park the other day. One for her son and one for the little male lead.

Little Zhou Yi climbed up the stairs and panted while holding onto a chair before he took the backpack over and carried it in his own arms. He looked up and told his Aunty Yan happily, “This is my clothes, toothbrush, and towel. Can I go over to Aunty Yan’s today?”

Yan Shuyu, “……”

The smile on Yan Shuyu froze all of a sudden. Darn, who taught him this trick?

Regardless of whether the little young master was enlightened by someone else, his action caught Yan Shuyu off guard. It was impossible for her to decline. After all, at his young age, he already knew to bring with him his own clothes and toiletries with him to her place. Not to mention the way he was looking at her with his puppy eyes on his delicate face. Who’d be able to resist that?

Yan Shuyu had no choice but to put on a smile and said, “Of course it’s okay. You are always welcomed.”

Yan Shuyu regretted so much that her guts were twisted together. How could she have treated the little male lead like a normal child? She should have been alerted when she heard “next time” coming out of him last time and nipped that in the bud right away. The little male lead excelled in persistence and perseverance. She had only let her guard down for two days and he had already followed through with his plans and brought his luggage with him to go to her place.

Well, it’s useless to feel regretful now. Yan Shuyu could do nothing but tell herself to let the lesson be learned and when faced with similar situations in the future, to be more mindful and try to nip all possibilities in the bud immediately.

As for now, she had no choice but to be the passionate and hospitable Aunty Yan.

Zhou Yi was still young after all and not too experienced. He couldn’t tell how forced the smile was on Aunty Yan’s face. Or that he might have noticed but pretended that he didn’t. There was a happy look on his delicate face. “Thank you, Aunty Yan.”

“You are welcome.”

Having said that, the little kiddo handed over the backpack that he had treated like treasure just a minute ago to Yan Shuyu and said, “Can I leave this with Aunty Yan? We are going to go pick up Yuanbao. It’s a hassle to lug it around.”

Well, you sure weren’t shy at all and had everything planned out on your own already, thought Yan Shuyu to herself. But she took the backpack from him with a smile on her face nonetheless. “Okay. Why don’t you go rest in the office? I will place this in the cabinet for you.”

Now that she had already agreed to him coming over to her place, what’s putting away his backpack for him?

“Okay.” Albeit that’s what he had said, he followed behind Yan Shuyu. All the way from the dressing room to Manager Yang’s office. Even Yang Zifeng noticed it and teased. “Yanyan, you seem to be getting along better and better with the little young master, eh?”

Yan Shuyu waved her hand as though she didn’t want to talk about this anymore. Such is the problem of being too charming.

Unfortunately, her little buddy not understanding her difficulty wasn’t all of her problem. Even her own son didn’t get it. Little kiddo Zhang Yuanbao met up with his little buddy outside of his school and learned immediately that his little buddy was going to go over to their house today and rejoiced right away. “Oh yay! We can go home together today!”

Zhou Yi, too, was very happy. So much that he even showed his little dimples in public.

Yan Shuyu seemed to be the only one outside of the family who knew that the little male lead had dimples as he seemed to smile in front of her more than in front of any one else. She had known it all along ,but it was Zhang Yuanjia’s first time seeing it. He poked it curiously with his finger and said, “Hey, you have a dip right here.”

The little male lead stopped smiling immediately and tried his best to make himself look solemn. It was only that his little ears turned red uncontrollably. He said softly, “Be nice, Yuanbao.”

Yan Shuyu, who had witnessed the entire exchange, “……”

Would it be wrong if she said she felt that the relationship between the two of them has a very Brokeback Mountain feel to it? She was baffled on how quickly they had gotten close to each other in the last few days.

In the midst of all of Yan Shuyu’s crazy thoughts, the little buddies held hands and happily went back to Sunshine House with Yan Shuyu. Once the two of them had met up, Yan Shuyu’s job was done. The two of them could talk to each other all day long.

After getting back to the shop, Yan Shuyu’s other little buddies were also very passionate. They have always had interest in this little young master from the prestigious family, but as the little young master has always had a sullen look, they were intimidated. Now they have seen that even though the little young master was still quiet and expressionless, he has been coming over quite often to play with Yan Shuyu and her son. They figured that was just his personality and he didn’t really look down on the peasants. They had become braver. Throughout their work, they would sometimes bring over a plate of nuts or two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice and took turns going to engage with the two kids.

If Manager Yang wasn’t doing anything to stop the others, all the more reason for Yan Shuyu to do nothing. She didn’t even need to do anything other than watching her little buddies taking turns entertaining the two children who were originally her responsibility and goofed until it was time to get off work.

After work, Yan Shuyu changed out of her uniform right away and only went into the office after she had her own purse and the little male lead’s backpack in her hand. She wasn’t eager to leave immediately and asked, “Why don’t you two talk between yourself and figure out what you want to eat tonight?”

The little male lead looked up at him and never once blinked his big eyes but did not say a word.

Yan Shuyu was baffled by his look. What was going through the little male lead’s mind?

Either Zhang Yuanjia wanted to have it himself or that he truly was able to decipher his little buddy’s look, he said, “Mommy, Xiao Yi wants hot pot.”

Zhou Yi still didn’t say anything, but he didn’t deny it either.

Yan Shuyu was a bit hesitant. “We just had it two days ago. It seems unhealthy to have it so often.”

Even though she was a strong believer of being plentiful in food and clothes without having to lift a finger, but now that she was raising a child, she would need to be mindful of certain things. At the very minimum, she couldn’t take Zhang Yuanjia to hot pot every few days. It was also that hot pot was quite expensive, and the two of them could eat a lot. Each time it would cost them 100 – 200 yuan. Once a week was already plenty.

Granted, that wasn’t the reason why she didn’t want to take the little male lead to hot pot today. When the boss took her out to eat, it was always over hundreds or even thousands of yuan. She could afford to take his son out to hot pot a couple of times. She mostly worried that too much “junk food” like hot pot might upset the little male lead’s sensitive stomach. He was, after all, a little young master from a prestigious family who has been pampered his entire life.

Hearing that, both little boys looked a bit disappointed. Right then, Manage Yang, who had refused to leave, walked over and volunteered, “Why don’t we go for bone marrow hot pot then? It’s much more nutritious. My treat.”

Zhang Yuanjia’s eyes lit up. Seeing the hesitant look on his little buddy, he held his hand and said, “Xiao Yi, Big Brother Yang is a good friend of me and my mom. You don’t need to be shy. We have dinner together all the time.”

Yang Zifeng hadn’t expected that even little kiddo Zhang Yuanbao had lumped him into the good friend category. That made him happy. “Exactly. We are all good friends. Don’t be shy, Xiao Yi. You can call me Big Brother Yang too.”

Whether he was being nice to his little buddy or that he really wanted to have hot pot, the little young master really called him, “Big Brother Yang.”

Manager Yang smiled so happily that his eyes turned into a slit. He was finally able to get close to the little young master from a prestigious family, even though with his new title he had just become a generation lower than Boss Zhou, making Boss Zhou going from the same generation as him to the “uncle” generation. But that’s quite alright. With someone like Boss Zhou, nevermind about referring to him as “uncle”, he’d be okay with “daddy”.

After happily accepting his new title, Yang Zifeng grabbed his car key right away and said, “Alright, little kiddos. I’ll take you to hot pot now.”

Both Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi looked excited but, they knew better than to say anything other than looking up at Yan Shuyu.

Only idiots would turn down free dinner. Yan Shuyu smiled and waved her hand. “Let’s go get hotpot!”

And the four of them walked out happily.

Zhang Yang was still waiting faithfully under Sunshine House. When Yan Shuyu saw him, she said to him nicely, “We are going to go to dinner with Manager Yang. He has a car as well and will be dropping us off tonight. Why don’t you take an early night?”
