Yan Shuyu had a performance at night and that was her busiest time in the day. Her son and the little male lead would, indeed, need a lot of attention at the shop from everyone.

Manager Yang stood around and observed how Yan Shuyu lied through her teeth the entire time. He finally took a step up and said, “Okay. Why don’t you take off early today then?”

That was Yan Shuyu’s plan as well. She smiled and nodded at him. “Thank you then, Boss.”

Once everything was settled, Yan Shuyu started waiting for the time to come to go pick her son up. She figured the little male lead wouldn’t be here until after her son got out of school. To her surprise, it wasn’t even 4 o’clock yet and the little kiddo had arrived. All by himself. He climbed up the stairs huffing and puffing. All of her little buddies inside the shop were shocked. Yan Shuyu, too, was dumbfounded.

“Xiao Yi, how come you are here so early? And by yourself too?”

The little kiddo, who was still panting from climbing the stairs, simply flung himself at her and threw his arms around her leg. “Aunty Yan.”

His pretty white face had already turned pink and made him look even cuter than he usually was. As a true fan of the physical appearance, Yan Shuyu couldn't help but bent down and picked him up.

Zhou Yi was six months younger than Zhang Yuanjia and also a bit lighter. Used to carrying her instant son, Yan Shuyu felt that it wasn’t difficult to pick him up at all. She carried him with one arm and accepted the glass of warm water that her little buddy had brought her with her other hand and fed him a couple sips of water.

The little male lead didn’t seem to mind that the two of them weren’t that close. After he finished drinking the water, he wrapped both arms around her neck and said, “Thank you, Aunty Yan.”

“You are welcome.” Yan Shuyu had planned on putting him down after giving him a hug, but she hadn’t expected iceberg face to be so passionate and forward, so she carried him to the couch, sat down on it, and asked caringly, “Who brought you here?”

Zhou Yi responded in his milky voice, “Uncle Zhang.”

Yan Shuyu felt better after she found out that someone brought him there. As for why Zhang Yang didn’t come upstairs, perhaps the little male lead wanted to stay low-key and not want others to know that he was the heir of a prestigious family?

Yan Shuyu took out her cellphone and said, “Well, in that case, why don’t you let your daddy know?”

Considering the fact that the boss might still be catching up on his sleep, Yan Shuyu only sent a voice message from WeChat. The little male lead docilely stuck his head over and said, “Daddy, I am over at Aunty Yan’s now.”

“Good boy.” Yan Shuyu praised him. She was going to pull out the Rubik’s cube that she always had with her for her instant son to play with for the little male lead, but as soon as she stood up, the little male lead slipped off of the couch and followed closely behind her. Yan Shuyu brought him to the manager’s office with her and said to him, “You are here so early that Yuanbao-gege hasn’t got out of school yet. Can you play here by yourself for a little bit?”

The little male lead asked curiously, “What time will Yuanbao get off?”

“Another half an hour or so from now.”

Yang Zifeng was bored in his office, so he walked up to the little male lead passionately and said to him, “Hi kid, I’ll play the Rubik’s cube with you.”

Manager Yang was friendly, but unfortunately, the young master from the prestigious family only gave special treatment toward his Aunty Yan. When it came to anyone else, he only had his straight face no matter who it was. Hearing that Aunty Yan was going to pick up Zhang Yuanbao, the little male lead shoved the Rubik’s cube into Manager Yang’s hands with no hesitation, stood up, and said, “I’ll go with you.”

Yan Shuyu knew that he was bored without his little buddy so she decided to have him go with her. She slowly walked down the stairs holding the little male lead’s hand. Her original plan was to walk over to Yuanbao’s school, but she didn’t know that Zhang Yang was still waiting downstairs. He got out of the car eagerly when he saw them and asked, “Miss Yan, are you going to pick up your kid? Let me take you.”

That was some pageantry, lamented Yan Shuyu.

Zhang Yang even knew that she was going to go pick up her son, so he probably heard that from the boss. Yan Shuyu took a look at Zhou Yi, who looked back at her docilely. She didn’t feel bad anymore but just picked him up and put him inside of the car. “Okay, then we will take the car there~”

Came to think about it, the boss was pretty attentive. With two little buns in tow, it’d be a hassle whether she was going to walk or take the subway. Much better if she has a chauffeur with her.

And Yan Shuyu, too, would have special treatment for once. Things just couldn’t be any better.

It was 4:20 PM, and outside of the kindergarten’s front door was already jam-packed with all sorts of cars here to pick up their children. Yan Shuyu, who usually walked or rode one of her little buddy’s scooter over to pick up Yuanbao, was finally able to experience what it was like to be taken there by a chauffeur. Mr. Chauffeur even opened up the door for her respectfully. Yan Shuyu got out of the car feeling very bubbly.

That being said, as much as the boss’s car was very luxurious, there were other parents who were picking up their kids in Ferrari or Lamborghini. As there were other luxurious cars around, she wasn’t really too stuck up about it but just stood there next to the car like normal.

Seeing her standing outside, the little male lead, who had been sitting quietly in his child seat, couldn’t hold still anymore. He passed up on his beloved Uncle Zhang and called out toward the outside of the car. “Aunty Yan! Aunty Yan!”

Aunty Yan turned around and immediately understood what it was that he wanted. “You want to come out too?”

Zhou Yi nodded forcefully, so Yan Shuyu opened up the car door to help him.

Even though her instant son and the little male lead had used these child seats plenty of times already, up until now, it had always been the boss who had been unbuckling them. Yan Shuyu had always just stood around and watched. Now that she was trying to do it on her own, she realized that it was more difficult than it looked. Well, it was also possible that she was just clumsy.

She struggled with it for almost half a minute, and Zhou Yi was very patient as well. He was almost holding his breath when he watched Aunty Yan finally succeed. He let out a long sigh of relief before he looked up and gave her a sweet smile, showing her his two cute and delicate dimples.

Yan Shuyu, too, felt very accomplished as she carried the little male lead out of the car.

Yan Shuyu was stunningly beautiful and was always the center of attention no matter where she was, but the little male lead wasn’t half bad either. His face, where gender wasn’t obvious at first glance, always attracted the attention of many strange aunties and uncles no matter where he went. When the two of them stood in front of the kindergarten holding hands, all the bystanders who didn’t know better thought they were mother and son.

Zhang Yuanjia’s class teacher, Teacher Xiao Lin, was one of them. Yan Shuyu would run into her almost every time she came to drop off or pick up Zhang Yuanjia. They would always exchange some pleasantries and liked each other’s posts in their friend’s circles. They were well acquainted with each other by now.

Teacher Xiao Lin walked over from afar to greet her, “Mother Yuanbao, this is… I didn’t know you have two children?”

Yan Shuyu didn’t expect that anyone would think that the little male lead was her child. Amused, she decided to play along, “Yeah, does he look like me?”

Teacher Xiao Lin studied the two of them seriously. As though she was lost in thought, she nodded and said, “Yeah, you two do look alike.”

Neither one of the two boys looked particularly like Yan Shuyu, but compared with Zhang Yuanjia, who was more handsome, this little boy, who was so pretty that he almost didn’t look like a boy, obviously looked like he had more of his mother’s beauty. Yes, even though the little male lead was so pretty that he was gender-obscured, as an experienced kindergarten teacher, Teacher Xiao Lin, could still tell that he was a boy.

Yan Shuyu: “……”

She was just kidding and hadn’t expected that Teacher Xiao Lin would have agreed with her so seriously. Now she felt awkward. When Yan Shuyu noticed that the little male lead, standing next to her, was staring at her with his mouth dropped open as if he was questioning about the meaning of life, the awkwardness that she was feeling turned into panic instantly.

Yan Shuyu quickly said, “No, no, no. I was just kidding. This is my friend’s child and a friend of Yuanbao. He is here to pick up Yuanbao with me today.”

There was no need to question the meaning of life, dear. I really am not your mother – that was what Yan Shuyu really wanted to say to the little male lead.

Teacher Xiao Lin gave Yan Shuyu an uncertain look. Then she looked down at the little kiddo again. Yan Shuyu was probably telling the truth. The little kiddo was pretty, but he didn’t look too much like Yan Shuyu. She apologized, “I’m sorry. I think I’ve misunderstood.”

Yan Shuyu shook her head immediately. “No, no. I was the one who joked about it first.”

She regretted a lot about what she had said. Luckily, she caught herself fast enough. What if she hadn’t noticed and the little male lead really thought she was his mother? Then her lovely life would be ruined just like that.

Yan Shuyu, feeling that she had lucked out, chitchatted with Teacher Xiao Lin and failed to notice the thoughts that had flashed past the little male lead’s eyes, as though a whole new world had just been opened up in front of him.

After the misunderstanding was clarified, Yan Shuyu and Teacher Xiao Lin continued to chat away happily and parents of other students gathered around gradually as well.

As they have waited all the time at the front of the kindergarten to pick up their children, Yan Shuyu could recognize most of these other parents and most likely they feel the same way about her. Yan Shuyu, on the other hand, never became a part of the parent group. In fact, they barely even have the relationship of nodding at each other.

After all, not everyone was able to see through someone’s appearance to their true qualities ,and Yan Shuyu wasn’t exactly showing her goofy personality to everyone. As such, from her outer appearance alone, her look was of the very threatening type. People saw what they wanted with her. A decent person would see her as someone who was very stuck up and would not want to approach her; the not-so-decent ones, on the other hand, would feel that her look was of the flirtatious kind. She must, therefore, love flirting with men and probably didn’t have a very respectable career. They’d want to stay as far away from her as possible; let alone befriending her.

In this circle, the staff members of the kindergarten were the only ones who had no conflict of interest with Yan Shuyu. They were not worried that Yan Shuyu would flirt with their husbands or their older children. Quite the contrary, they liked Zhang Yuanjia, who was smart and pretty. So by proxy, they also liked Yan Shuyu more and more as days went on.

As such, when all the other parents greeted each other, Yan Shuyu only had the teachers to talk to every time.

That being said, Yan Shuyu didn’t care much about this. She didn’t care that the other parents didn’t care for her nor how they looked at her behind her back. Today, on the other hand, with the little male lead holding her hand, the parents also greeted her when they came to greet Teacher Xiao Lin and even asked to add her on WeChat in order to keep in touch.

Yan Shuyu was a little shocked by this change. Could this also be the charm of the little male lead? If that was the case, then it was certainly a crazy ability that he possessed.

Had Yan Shuyu actually asked Zhang Yang, who was with them, she would never have come to such a wild conclusion. Sitting in the driver’s seat, Zhang Yang clearly saw how everyone’s eyes lit up when they saw the boss’s beloved car. Apparently, not everyone was as clueless as this Miss Yan.

Not all luxurious cars were made equally.

Yan Shuyu didn’t care too much about what the others were thinking. After lamenting for a little bit, she proceeded to accept the friend’s request from everyone. One of the parents in a mink coat and drove a red sports car also invited Yan Shuyu into their group chat. Not the kindergarten parents’ one, but the VIP parents’ one. Unfortunately, Yan Shuyu was oblivious to the difference between the two and only went in and posted an intro of herself before she turned off the notifications for this group.

Immediately after that, kids’ cheerful noises could be heard coming from inside of the kindergarten. The noise came closer and closer, and the kindergarten was officially over for the day.
