Never mind about taking advantage of the boss, her ex from her previous life pretty much spent every penny of his hard-earn scholarship money on her. Yan Shuyu never felt that there was anything wrong with it. Although she’d occasionally scheme some red packet money from her parents to give back to him, the amount didn’t come close to what he had spent on her. Yet she has always felt very justifiable.

By the same token, there was certainly no reason to feign to be noble and virtuous in front of the boss. After all, he was so poor that all he had left was money. Perfect for them to head to the shopping mall and buy, buy, buy and have him buy all of the clothes and purses that she had her eyes on but couldn’t afford in the past. That would somewhat begin to make up for her loss of her 2 million yuan.

But after Yan Shuyu heard the boss’s suggestion to go shopping, her first reaction was to think about her 2 million yuan of loss and felt blue. She didn’t even give it another thought before she said, “No, I don’t want to go.”

She had lost 2 million yuan, and she didn’t even have 20,000 yuan in her bank account after she had worked and been frugal for so long. She didn’t have the money to shop. What could she possibly buy?

After she had said those words decisively, she suddenly realized how stupid she was. Given the boss’s normal behavior, he would never let her pay for her own stuff. All of a sudden, Yan Shuyu regretted so much that her stomach turned. She was just thinking about how to save it when Zhou Qinhe raised his brows a bit in surprise and said in a mild and coddling tone, “Okay, then we won’t go shopping.”

During the silence, Zhou Qinhe squeezed her hand softly. In a tender and doting voice, he asked, “What would Yanyan like to do?”

Yan Shuyu, always a sucker when pampered, recovered immediately. All of a sudden, shopping or not wasn’t so important anymore. It’s a date and she should be happy. She started giving this some thought and suddenly recalled what she had told her instant son this morning to placate him and said excitedly, “How about the amusement park?”

That was completely beyond Zhou Qinhe’s imagination. He asked with hesitation, “Just the two of us?”

“You have never been to one, have you?” Yan Shuyu gloated complacently. “There just might be more adults than kids at the amusement park. It’s a good spot to go on a date.” She had never been to an amusement park here; now it’s a good time to check one out.

Zhou Qinhe didn’t mind that she was making fun of him. At least, he still looked pretty normal. “Alright, let’s go to the amusement park.”

As they had dropped off Zhang Yuanjia at the musical institution first and spent some time on their discussion in the car, it was already 10 o’clock by the time they got to the amusement park. The weather was nice and there were a lot of patrons. The line, however, wasn’t too long. After they have walked inside of the park, Yan Shuyu happily put on her cartoon head band, the type with lights. She even turned on the lights even though it was broad daylight. Then, with the blinking lights on her head, she turned to the boss and said, “Uncle Zhou, do I like bright to you?”

Yan Shuyu even tastelessly used a high-pitch little girl’s voice when she said that and had successfully got the attention of those around them.

This was one of the hotspots for shopping inside the park and many people liked buying swags so it was quite busy inside the shop. There were both adults and children. Just like Yan Shuyu had said earlier, there were a lot of young couples there which was why the two of them didn’t attract too much attention even with their exceptional good looks.

All the other customers were focused on browsing at the merchandise in the shop until they heard this “Uncle” coming from Yan Shuyu. A few girls next to her with acute hearing looked over at them right away. They all thought it came from a cute little girl. Once they saw Yan Shuyu’s age, they were speechless. Then they looked over at Zhou Qinhe and their looks became progressively more gossipy and peculiar. Toward the end, they started whispering to each other. Yan Shuyu and Zhou Qinhe could hear words like “cosplay” and “having fun”.

Ooooh, she’s such a fun person~ Not only did Yan Shuyu not feel shameful about it, she was quite proud of herself.

Zhou Qinhe, on the other hand, felt oddly embarrassed for a change. This wasn’t the first time he was called “Uncle Zhou” to his face, but in the past the audiences were either his son or hers. Neither one of them was an outsider, so he never said anything about it. He hadn’t expected her to be so bold in public as well.

But when he thought about it some more, that was exactly her style. Zhou Qinhe fell silent all of a sudden and understood that he couldn’t fuss over this. The more she knew it bothered him, the worse she’d get.

Uncle Zhou casually brought over a balloon and lifted Yan Shuyu’s hand to tie it on her wrist. Yan Shuyu was baffled. “What’s the balloon for?”

“Too many people here. We don’t want you to get lost.” Zhou Qinhe was very concise and Yan Shuyu rolled up her sleeve cooperatively as she made a couple “tsk, tsk” sounds. She thought the boss knew how to have fun as well.

She only thought that for about two seconds before she heard the voice coming from a naughty child. “Mom, Mom. That aunty is so old already, why does she need a balloon too? Was she naughty too?”

Yan Shuyu, “……”

“Pardon my child,” said the mother of the child as she carried her son elsewhere to finish up tying the balloon on him. But the trauma has already been done for Yan Shuyu, especially when she looked around and realized that she was the only adult with a balloon tied on her wrist. She suddenly has a thought. She looked at the boss standing in front of her without blinking, “Are you getting revenge for me calling you ‘Uncle Zhou’?”

“No, you are overthinking it.” After he had finished tying the balloon around her wrist, Zhou Qinhe picked up her hand and went to pay at the front desk. His lips curving upward and there was a smile under his eyes; he was like spring breeze and moonlight, arguably the most handsome man in the country.

As a loyal fan of looks, Yan Shuyu had lost herself after looking at the boss’s handsome face for a few seconds. She had forgotten all about what kind of an insidious person he was and immediately started enjoying her time with him at the amusement park. As for that balloon that was meant for children, she had it on her wrist for a whole three hours before she remembered to remove it during lunch.

All the rides at an amusement park were more or less the same. Whether they were fun or not depended a lot on your company. The boss, in this sense, made a very good buddy. As long as Yan Shuyu wanted to, he’d go on the most daring ones with her. As such, the thrill-seeking Yan Shuyu held his hand and experienced all of the most exciting rides in the country, such as the Giant Hammer, Sky Tower, Space Shuttle, and Pirate Boat, etc.

Finally, they even went onto the Extreme. By the time they got off the ride, Yan Shuyu’s knees were weakened and she was half carried by the boss to take a break.

Leaning in the chair and taking a sip of the milk tea that the boss had stood in line to get, Yan Shuyu had more or less recovered fully. She looked at the time and said with regret, “Aye, it’s time to go pick up Yuanbao.”

Even though she didn’t get to go on a shopping spree with the boss and spend his money, Yan Shuyu happily went into play-and-buy mode at the amusement park.

Amusement parks in the big city know how to make money. There are a lot of shops inside the park. Every time Yan Shuyu was tired from playing, she’d drag the boss into a shop and buy a lot of random small items such as dinosaur towels, 2-in-1 dolphin blanket and body pillow, giant panda backpack for kids, etc.

Yes, most of the swags in an amusement park were geared toward children. But now that Yan Shuyu has an instant son, she could buy anything that she found cute and they’d be put to good use. Without needing a reminder from the boss, Yan Shuyu picked out two sets of everything that she found cute – the boss was the one paying for them anyway. No need for her to be frugal about it~

Zhou Qinhe, the one who was paying for all of them, wasn’t frugal about it either. He was, in fact, appreciative when he looked at the two identical cartoon bags. “This will be the first time that Xiao Yi receives such thoughtful souvenirs. I think he will be happy.”

Yan Shuyu thought complacently to herself: Yup, and that’s the kind of elegant person she is. That being said, what a poor thing little Zhou Yi was if this was his first time receiving gifts like these?

Yan Shuyu felt pitiful for the little male lead for about a second before she happily dragged the boss out of the shop. It was still a bit of distance between the entrance and the parking lot.

It was indeed burdensome walking over to the car with as much stuff as they have bought but that didn’t have much to do with Yan Shuyu. The boss carried both shopping bags in one hand and a giant and fluffy cloud body pillow with two long legs. That was a gift that Yan Shuyu had picked out for herself. It was too big to fit into a bag, so they had to carry it directly in their arms.

Yan Shuyu’s original plan was to carry her own stuff. All she had on was just a small purse, but the boss had taken over all the other stuff in his usual gentlemanly way. With her hands empty, it wouldn’t be too difficult to carry her own body pillow herself.

But the boss wouldn’t even let her do that, so Yan Shuyu decided to enjoy being burden-free. Point was, not only did the boss not look like he was struggling with his handful of stuff, he seemed even more handsome and outstanding than usual. As they walked down the street, the rate of others turning around to look at him was as high as 100%. After all, he was probably the only handsome man at the amusement park who was also attentive to his girlfriend.

Yan Shuyu, who was receiving all the attention from others from walking next to the boss, felt an inexplicable sense of pride – this man who was so handsome that one couldn’t even keep one’s knees together was her boyfriend! And, just like that, Yan Shuyu, her arm around the boss’s, walked over to the parking lot with her chest and head held high.

The boss’s car was easy to find. It automatically unlocked itself as soon as they got close. As Zhou Qinhe was organizing the loot into the car, Yan Shuyu had already shamelessly crawled into the passenger seat and plopped down onto the seat comfortably.

Zhou Qinhe also got inside of the car not too long after her. As he started the car, he casually said to her, “I am going on another business trip in a couple of days.”

Yan Shuyu casually responded back to him, “Oh yeah? How long are you going to be gone?”

She thought the boss had just got back a few days ago?

“Probably 3-5 days.”

“Oh, that’s kind of long.” That was close to an entire week. A very conceited idea suddenly occurred to Yan Shuyu. Did the boss insist on a date with just the two of them because he’d miss her on his trip?
