Happily carrying the rose with her, Yan Shuyu’s mood was ruined by the server’s creative greeting.

The seafood restaurant chosen by the boss was truly Tall, Big, and High Class. Yan Shuyu could tell that as soon as she got out of the car. The service of the restaurant could rival that of some 5-star hotels. Even just going there for lunch, there’s a handsome young man who’d park their car for them. Naturally, there was also a valet who’d open one’s door for you, but Yan Shuyu, who wasn’t used to it, had already opened up her own door as soon as the car stopped, before the handsome young man was even able to get close to them. She then saw the tall server with long legs bow to them and say, “Sir, Madam, good afternoon and welcome.”

Yan Shuyu immediately stopped smiling. She was still a young girl. Even if she was a mother, she was the prettiest mother in the world. Why did she get greeted with a “Madam”?

Having greeted them, the server immediately went over and helped the two young customers out of the car.

This was when Yan Shuyu finally noticed that the two of them along with two children in tow, it’d only make sense for others to assume they were a family and referred to her as “Madam”. All she needed to do was to clarify it with them.

Nevertheless, as soon as she turned around, she noticed that the boss had already given his car keys to the parking valet, thanked the server, and was about to follow the server inside with one kid in each hand. He seemed to have completely forgotten about the way that the server had referred to them earlier. Yan Shuyu felt hesitant all of a sudden. Now that that was already in the past and nobody seemed to have paid it that much attention, would it be odd if she abruptly blurted out that the boss and her was not a couple? It seemed like that would be a bit awkward.

Before Yan Shuyu could make up her mind, the three who had already taken a few steps all stopped to look at her. The boss asked, concerned, “What’s the matter?”

Little kiddo Zhang Yuanbao, on the other hand, called out to her cheerfully, “C’mon, Mommy. Join us!”

Seeing the look of anticipation on the little kiddo, Yan Shuyu thought to herself that he was a little foodie as well and had finally shown his true colors today. That being said, thinking about the seafood feast in her near future, she, too, was quite eager herself. She cheerfully decided to put the little incident aside for the time being and enjoy the food first.

Mainly she felt that the restaurant was so high-end, once they had walked inside and placed their orders, there would be more interactions and she’d just need to take the opportunity to clarify the mistake they were making in the way they were referring to them. It’d be much smoother and not embarrassing at all!

Having it all planned out, Yan Shuyu quickly followed the boss and the kids and the family, no, the group walked inside the restaurant laughing and chatting. When a different, pretty hostess took them to a window seat inside the main dining area, Yan Shuyu, surprised, asked in a soft voice, “Eh? No private room today?”

Even when they went to the French restaurant last time unplanned after the movie, the boss still asked if there was a private room available, but there wasn’t. Which was how they ended up in the main dining area. This restaurant needed reservation in advance. Yan Shuyu figured that the boss would for sure have asked for a private room. Last time, there were just the two of them, so it’d be odd to be in a private room. But there were four of them today, so she didn’t have to worry about that.

As she was just leeching off of the boss today, whether they were in a private room or not made no difference to Yan Shuyu. She only made the comment casually and hadn’t expected him to have heard her even though her voice was soft when she said it.

Zhou Qinhe looked up at her and asked, “You like a private room?”

Yan Shuyu shook her hand, “No, I am just curious. This is pretty good too. We can appreciate the lake view while we eat.”

The hostess next to her smiled and said, “You are right, Miss. This table has the best view.”

“Good then.” Zhou Qinhe explained casually, “You seemed to prefer to dine in the main area better last time, so I didn’t pick the private room this time.”

Yan Shuyu, instead of being touched by how observant the boss was, was a little dumbfounded. She didn’t recall herself expressing any opinion on anything last time. Was her acting really that bad?

As she was dumbfounded, the four of them were seated and the server quickly handed them the menus. “Take a look and see what you’d like to order.”

Yan Shuyu, taking the menu from the boss, suddenly noticed that the server did not refer to her as “Madam”. Was she doing that on purpose?

If the server didn’t refer to her as “Madam”, she wouldn’t have the opportunity to clarify her relationship with the boss. That made her feel very stifled. She didn’t even want to talk anymore. Finally, Zhou Qinhe took over the menu.

But Boss Zhou didn’t look at the menu either. He just asked the server directly, “Anything that’s fresh today?”

Yan Shuyu’s dad used to ask that too in her previous life whenever they dined out. But all the servers were well trained and always replied to them with a professional smile, “All of our ingredients are fresh. You can order anything with no worries.”

The boss, nonetheless, was not a nobody and naturally received a different response. Yan Shuyu saw the server eagerly responded, “Other than the East China Sea Croceine croaker, South Australian rock lobster and Tanner crab that you have ordered yesterday, we have wild Arctic surf clams, silver cod, peony shrimp. Oh, right, cutlassfish from Zhoushan are in season lately and we have some of those as well. These are authentic from Zhoushan, would you like to try some?”

Yan Shuyu was not very well versed and hadn’t heard of most of these. But hearing the server mentioned that these were either wild or imported, it wasn’t hard for her to figure out that they were all horribly expensive. When the boss asked her gently about her opinion, she immediately nodded and said, “Sure… we can try?”

But she also knew that this way of leeching was very unbecoming. Quickly, she added, “But we don’t need all of them. It’s too much.”

That actually made Zhou Qinhe chuckle. He turned to Yan Shuyu after he told the server to add them all to their order, smiled, and said, “Don’t worry. The quantity is not too big.”

If that’s what the boss said, Yan Shuyu immediately stopped worrying. She wasn’t the one paying for it after all.

Zhou Qinhe was thoughtful and attentive, not only did he ask Yan Shuyu for her opinion when he placed the order, he also ordered special drinks and desserts for the two kids. The dishes had pretty layouts and the ice-cream was served with some dry ice. When they were served, Yan Shuyu did not hesitate to pick up a spoon and happily shared them with the kids~

And, just like that, under the comfort of scrumptious food, Yan Shuyu had forgotten all about her slight displeasure of the earlier mislabel.

The seafood feast was very tasty, but it was more troublesome than most other food as they have two kids with them.

Zhang Yuanjia and Zhou Yi were both independent good kids and didn’t need to be fed, even when they were having seafood today. Both of them rolled up their sleeves and slaved over the food. They didn’t make a mess over their clothes.

Yan Shuyu was happy about that at the beginning. Her son was so capable that she could focus on eating herself.

After she had finished up for a while and the kiddo next to her was still eating at his steady pace, she started to get stir crazy. She took a look at her watch. Noticing that they had already been there for an hour already, she asked her instant son, “Are you almost done?”

Zhang Yuanjia lifted up his head and told her, “No.”

Yan Shuyu asked incredulously, “Not at all?”

The little kiddo thought about it for a second, stuck up three fingers, and said, “I am about 30% full.”

Zhou Yi, sitting across from him, mimicked him and also stuck up three fingers, “I am also about 30% full.”

Yan Shuyu: “……”

At this rate, it would take another painstaking two hours for the both of them to be done. There was no way they could make the activities at the institution then. That wasn’t going to work. Resigned, she put down her cellphone and proposed to her son tenderly, “Yuanbao, this is too difficult for you. What say if mommy feeds you?”

Zhang Yuanjia, on the other hand, felt pretty comfortable eating on his own. He gripped onto his little bowl tightly with his little hands and pointed at Zhou Yi with his chin. “Young brother is eating by himself. I want to eat by myself too.”

The little smarty purposefully stressed the fact that Zhou Yi was younger than him in order to show that he himself was very capable.

Yan Shuyu looked at Zhou Yi, who was happily eating across from her, and said, “Uncle Zhou will be feeding Xiao Yi in a little bit as well.”

To her surprise, that did not work on Zhang Yuanjia. His burden of being a big brother was quite heavy. He insisted. “I will let mommy feed me after Uncle Zhou starts feeding Xiao Yi.”

Kids nowadays weren’t easy to fool. Yan Shuyu sighed and looked over at the boss to make a deal with him. “Em, Zhou…”

Meeting the boss’s smile that really wasn’t a smile, she decisively converted “Boss Zhou” to “Zhou Qinhe”. Okay, he said she couldn’t call him “Boss Zhou” anymore, addressing him by his full name should be fine, right?

Surely, the boss looked much better after she had switched the way she referred to him. She discussed with him softly, “Our activities start at 2 PM and it’s a bit of a distance from here. Do you want to feed Zhou Yi? I will feed Yuanbao as well. That way we can save some time.”

Zhou Qinhe didn’t give her a hard time this time but nodded agreeably, “Okay.”

Then he started feeding Zhou Yi. He didn’t seem very familiar with it, but it's at least faster than the kid eating on his own.

Yan Shuyu, with a smile on her, also took away his son’s little bowl and said, “Look. Xiao Yi’s daddy is feeding him now. You let mommy feed you too, alright?”

Zhang Yuanbao has no more excuses this time, so he could no nothing but opened his mouth docilely and waited for his mother to feed him.

Things went down a different path after she had started feeding him. Yan Shuyu had just put a piece of cod in her son’s bowl before she heard the little male lead across from her said he wanted cod also. So she split the piece of fish that she had just deboned into two and fed half to Zhang Yuanbao and the other half went inside little Zhou Yi’s mouth.

After that one time, the little male lead was stuck onto her. When Zhang Yuanbao had some soup, he’d lean over and say he wanted soup also. Zhang Yuanbao would have a shrimp, and he’d opened his mouth and waited for shrimp. Finally, Zhou Yi leapt off his seat, walked around, and shoved himself in between Yan Shuyu and Zhang Yuanjia to be fed.

Yan Shuyu: “……”

Since when did the male lead become so shameless?

It didn’t bother Zhou Qinhe that his son had abandoned him. He put the bowl down and smiled at her, “I’ve heard that kids enjoy joining in the fun. Food probably tastes better to him that way.”

Yan Shuyu wanted to say “Yeah, right!” As nicely as the boss had put it, Yan Shuyu thought that was probably because the little male lead didn’t care for his dad’s clumsy way of feeding him. After all, even Yan Shuyu could tell how clumsy he was. The boss was even more like a stepdad than her, an instant mother.

But the boss was paying for the meal today and little Zhou Yi had already run here all by himself. She couldn’t very well send him away. She had no choice but to set aside her disgruntledness and took up responsibilities as the servant. She feeds a mouthful to her son and a mouthful to the male lead. She’d just have to think of it as trading the scrumptious food with labor.
