《Mine.》Chapter 7

Last night after I took Octavia home, I just ended up going home as well. I woke up with the worst headache, courtesy of the alcohol. Luckily, my maids had a bottle water and some pills for me.
One thing was on my mind, Octavia, I had thought she would just be another girl in my bed last night. Then I drove her home, so that didn't work out. I thought that would be it but, I found myself thinking about her, wondering about her, throughout the morning. I tried to stop but, I couldn't which just made me angry. I don't have time for love or anything, even if I did I'd ruin her beyond repair, I just know it.
Yet, here I am about to pull up to her thrift shop her family owns. I might have told my best friend Carter to find her file for me. Since Carter was a detective, it'd be no problem. He's how I get things past the cops.
I parked my car and got out, going inside the shop, almost instantly spotting her, she's so beautiful. I followed her as she went down an aisle, making sure there was quite some distance. Even with such a simple look she seems so gorgeous to me.
"Hey I thought that was you." I greeted, walking a little more into the aisle, I saw she jumped a little and turned around.
Damn, she's even more stunning in brighter light. I also noticed how she seemed shyer than last night.
"Octavia, right?" I loved how her name rolled off my tongue.
"Yeah" she said simply.
I couldn't help but, let my eyes wonder to her pink lips, I wanted to kiss her so bad. But, in an instant I brought my gaze back to her brown eyes. I don't want her to know, I practically looked up where she worked and came here so I had to improvise. My eyes went to the boxes and then back to her.

"You work here?" I asked.
"Y-Yeah" she stuttered, good she's nervous, which was so fucking adorable.
"My family owns it." she added, turning back around to put some stuff on the shelf she had from the box.
I know.
I had asked her if she could help me, only so I could keep talking with her. She obviously did and my interest was peaking by the second.
"Um..," she started to walk out of the aisle. "This way."
When I was next to her, I couldn't help myself. I moved my hand to brush up against hers. I looked up at her quickly to see her inhale sharply. I smirked to myself, maybe it's my cockiness. But, I usually have this effect on women.
"Right there." She pointed to the lower shelf where tool boxes were stacked.
I bent down, glancing over to her, realizing just how close I was. My eyes traveled up her body slowly, our gazes catching one another's. Before I let my gaze travel back down, shit, snap out of it. I shook my head, quickly grabbing a random tool box and coming back up with it.
"How's this one?" I questioned, looking straight at her.
My eyes couldn't help but, watch her every move. Like how her eyes glanced to the toolbox then back at me. How she fiddled with her hands in a nervous manner.
"Looks good." She stated.
"I'll get this one then."
After one more glance, we were both off to the counter. I'm guessing she's working there right now, since when I arrived, no one else was. So I followed her and quickly noticed, I was right. Then suddenly a guy with brown hair and green eyes came up from behind her, kissing her cheek.

"Hey Octavia, thank you so much for taking my morning shift, I love you so much, I know I owe you big time." he tried hugging her but, she stopped him.
What the hell, is this her boyfriend. No, it can't be, he would have kissed her lips rather than her cheek. I mean I would've, wait, she kissed her bestfriend last night though. Does that mean she cheated, I didn't peg her as a cheater though.
"Not big time more like majorly big time." She restated.
"I know, promise." The guy stated, going to take a seat on a stool, that's on the other side of the counter.
I couldn't focus on anything other than that guy. Who is he, I can't believe this could be her boyfriend. He's not even better looking than me, did I come here for nothing then.
"Ryder." Her voice breaks my concentration on him as I look back at her, her voice sounded so good saying my name.
Imagine her scream- stop it Ryder.
"Sorry." I said, giving her a twenty dollar bill, she gives me my change and receipt.
I looked at her one last time, it was the last time. I can't see her anymore. I need to stay focused on my life. That has responsibilities, being a gang leader for one, it comes with tons.
Although this was fun.
"Thanks for the ride by the way." she said quietly but, I caught it as I almost walked out of the door
I stopped and turned around to look at her, in that moment I knew I'd see her again after this, "No problem......goodbye Octavia." I said, just like last night only it was a goodnight.
I left the shop, heading towards my Lamborghini and getting in. Should I really be getting into it with her. I'd ruin her life, I knew it was wrong.
But I wanted her already and what I want I get.
