hi so we're gonna time jump nine months cause i want the baby :)
•••
octavia was relaxing on the couch, tv remote in hand as she mindlessly flipped through the channels. she heard the front door unlock, tom walking in. he shut the door, locking it again.
"you've really been craving those chocolate milkshakes from wendy's babe, that's my third run this week." he said with a smile on his face as he slipped his shoes off. octavia turned back to look at him, tom joining her on the couch. he gave her the milkshake, a grateful smile on her face.
"alright, try being nine months pregnant. at least it's something normal, not that weird cheeze-it and whipped cream phase i had two months ago." tom nodded, agreeing with her. she chuckled, him leaving a loving kiss on her temple.
"has she kicked?" tom asked, placing his hand on her stomach. octavia shook her head no, tom frowning. hid hand rubbed her stomach, him bending down to place a soft kiss over her clothed belly.
"the pressure on my pelvis has gotten worse, maybe she's flipping to get ready." tom's eyes widened, octavia laughing at his reaction. she placed her hand on his bicep, a soft smile on her face.
"t, you're ready for this. to be a dad. you're gonna be amazing." tom let his lips curve up, octavia leaving a loving kiss on his lips. tom tased the chocolate on her lips, him smile to himself.
"i love you avi." octavia smiled, her kissing him again.
"i love you too tom."
•••
octavia couldn't sleep. it was around one fifty in the morning, and tom was sleeping like a baby. octavia shifted in bed, unable to get comfortable. she put her hands on her stomach, letting out a exhale.
"you better come soon so i can sleep comfortably on my side again kid." she whispered quietly to her bump, hoping somehow her baby would hear her. octavia looked at tom, his hair disheveled and the slight snoring escaping his lips. she smiled softly at him, her head turning back up to look at the ceiling.
fifteen minutes later, she felt her shorts and underwear get wet. she sat up, mumbling a 'what the' as she looked at the bed sheets. she quickly walked to the bathroom, seeing that it wasn't pee. her eyes widened, but then she smiled to herself. she walked back out of the bathroom and to toms side of the bed.
"tom. babe, wake up please." she said, shaking him softly. he rolled over and opened his eyes, confused on why she was awake. his hands instinctively went to her bump, cradling it softly.
"my water broke." she whispered breathlessly. tom's eyes widened, sitting up. octavia moved back as he got out of the bed. tom grabbed the hospital bag from the closet, slinging it over his shoulder. his hand rested on her lower back as he guided her down the stairs.
"call my parents, then seba- oh my god." she got out her hand going to her stomach. she almost fell down the stairs, tom catching her.
"oh god avi, are you having contractions?" he asked, continuing to lead her down the stairs. they reached the bottom, her slipping the first pair of shoes on, her slippers.
"no tom i just decided to be dramatic to scare you. yes i'm having contractions!" she snapped at him, making tom's eyes widen.
"this is what robert meant when pregnant woman get snappy." he mumbled to himself, the two slipping their coats on. he grabbed the keys and phone as he and octavia left for the hospital. tom helped her into the passenger seat, him jogging to the other side of the car.

they started their drive, tom just getting off the phone with her parents. he then dialed sebastain, keeping his eyes on the road. it rang three times, sebastian picking up.
"tom? why are you calling at two am- it's tom, evans." tom could hear other people talking in the background, the two friends being out.
"octavia's in labor. we're on the way to the hospital." tom heard sebastain go 'holy shit she's in labor', making tom chuckle as he they reached the hospital parking lot.
"fuck, okay, we'll see you there tom." sebastain hung up, allowing tom to put the phone down and park the car. he helped octavia into the hospital, telling the lady at the front desk their current situation. a nurse came around with a wheelchair, octavia sitting in it uncomfortably. she was wheeled into a room, the start of their new life was in motion.
***
octavia and tom were in the hospital room. they've been in their for a good fifteen minutes, her contractions coming and going, them getting worse with each one. tom just got off the phone with his family, them getting the first flight out tomorrow. octavia and tom's hands were intertwined, his thumb rubbing her knuckle.
"how are you doing love?" he asked softly, placing a kiss to the back of her hand. she turned her head
to look at him, a soft smile on her face.
"i'm scared, but excited." she said quietly, causing tom to smile.
"i cant wait to hold her. i wonder if she has your nose." tom said, octavia laughing.
"i bet she has your eyes." octavia said back, making tom grin widely.
a hour had passed, octavia not being 10 cm dilated yet. the doctor had left the room, octavia throwing her head back in frustration. sebastain and chris knocked on the door, the two peaking their heads in.
"hey, how many centimeters now?" sebastain asked, walking around the bed to lay a kiss on his sisters head.
"six. i'm six fucking centimeters. i want this kid out of me now, that's all i ask for." she whined, tears brimming in her eyes from the frustration. sebastain wiped the hair away from her forehead, sighing sadly.
"i know, but she'll be here before you know know it doll." sebastain said, leaving another kiss on her head, and allowed chris to be by her side. he placed a soft kiss on her head, octavia smiling at the action. she groaned suddenly, the two men's eyes widening at the noise. tom sat up, intertwining their hands together.
"in and out love, in and out- just like that." tom talked her through the contractions, as he did with every one that came. her breathing was deep and fast, tom checking the time on his watch.
"30 seconds left, it's alright avi, it's okay." tom reassured, octavia letting out a painful cry. sebastain and chris watched in shock with how well tom was handling this. octavia slowly relaxed, her taking a deep breath to calm down.
"should i just start pushing cause i'm done being pregnant?" octavia asked, chris and sebastain heading for the door.
"that's where we leave the room," octavia chuckled softly.
"the next time we come in here, i'm really hoping you have that babygirl in your arms sweetheart." chris said, the soon to be parents smiling widely.
"us too."
***
"when did lizzie she was coming?" octavia asked tom, him getting off the phone with the last member of the cast. it's been four hours since octavia has been in labor, and she still wasn't ready.

"in two days." octavia nodded, tom sitting back down in the chair. the cast were planning on getting the first flight out to new york, yet robert lived the closest in upstate new york, him planning on being at the hospital first thing in the morning.
the doctor knocked on the door, peaking her head in. she gave the two a small smile, sitting in the chair infront of octavia.
"hey, let's see if you're ready now." her doctor said, octavia keeping her eyes locked on toms. he gave a hopeful smile and a soft squeeze of his hand.
"i'm glad to say you're 10 cm dilated. it's time to start." octavia swore she felt her heart drop to her stomach. it was time. the doctor called in the midwife, a lady walking in not to long after.
the doctor got everything set up, octavia's legs being propped up. tom was by octavia's head, his hand holding her hand tightly. he placed a kiss on her temple, it lingering there.
"alright octavia, start pushing."
tom swore that his hand was losing circulation as she squeezed it hard and pushed. she grunted, throwing her head back.
"good, again."
she leaned forward a bit and pushed harder. she grunted a bit louder, tears in her eyes as she laid back again, her breathing heavily.
"you're doing great love." tom reassured, wincing at the fact he couldn't feel his hand. he knew better not to say anything though, his wife in the process of bringing their child in the world.
"again octavia."
octavia pushed with all her might, her body shaking slightly and eyes clamped shut. she groaned loudly, leaning back as she started to cry.
"i cant do it. i cant." she got out breathlessly, tears rushing down her face. tom wiped them away swiftly, octavia's hand losing his grip to toms hand.
"yes you can love, you're so close, so close to holding her, which is what you've been waiting for. i know you can do this octavia." he said, octavia nodding as she took a deep breath, and pushing as hard as she could.
everything around her felt blurry and in slow motion. yet she was brought back to reality when she heard the small cry of a baby. she laid back, her crying softly. tom sat up a bit, seeing his babygirl. the doctor gave tom the scissors, cutting the umbilical cord.
the baby was held up for octavia to see, her smiling widely as tears still ran down her face. the baby was taken to be cleaned and weighed, octavia keeping her eyes on her till she couldn't be seen.
octavia looked over to tom, tears running down her face as tom couldn't hold back his own anymore. they smiled widely at each other, tom capturing her lips.
when the baby was brought back, she was wrapped in a pink blanket, the nurse carefully laid the baby in octavia's arms, their baby sleeping peacefully. octavia smiled softly, looking at tom.
"i told you she has your nose."
***
octavia's parents were the first one to see the baby, octavia passed out. tom was holding his babygirl in his arms, his in laws smiling. he looked up at the door opening, him sending them a wide smile. it was around seven thirty am, everyone being up basically the whole night.
"hey tom, how was it?" her mother had asked, leaning down to place a kiss on toms cheek.
"hi, it went better then i had expected. octavia was so drained, she just fell asleep." octavia's parents watched as tom adjusted the blanket wrapped around the baby, then smiling.
"who wants to hold olivia maria first?"
jack smiled softly at the middle name. he had offered first, him carefully picking up his granddaughter. he swayed back and forth softly, a soft smile on his face.
"she's adorable- hey sleeplyhead." octavia rubbed her eyes, a smile on her face.
"hey mom, hey dad." she said quietly, tom helping her sit up. olivia was passed to octavia's mother, a wide smile on her face.
"she's precious." octavia's mother had stated, looking back up to the smiling couple. octavia's mother carefully placed the newborn back into her daughters arms, them leaving to get a impatient sebastain and chris.
octavia watched as olivia's eyes opened, octavia's lips turning upward.
"she has your eyes." she kept her hazel eyes on her daughter, the chocolate brown ones taking in her surroundings. tom smiled, standing behind octavia. he placed a soft kiss on her temple, the door opening.
"oh my gosh, she's tiny." sebastain's voice made the two look up, them chuckling. chris and sebastain closed the door behind them, walking towards the two. sebastain and chris hugged tom tightly before walking to the other side of the hospital bed. sebastain kissed octavia's temple, brushing the hair away from her face.
"do you wanna hold your niece?" octavia watched as sebastian's eyes watered at the question, him nodding. he carefully scooped olivia into his arms, her brown eyes staring into his blue ones.
"what's her name?" chris asked, him placing a kiss on octavia's head. octavia watched with tears of happiness in her eyes as sebastain had the biggest grin on his face, him swaying softly.
"olivia maria holland." sebastain and chris's head perked up at the middle name.
"nana maria." chris said softly, octavia nodding. sebastain met octavia's eyes, tears in both of their eyes.
"hey liv, i'm uncle seb. wow you're so tiny." sebastain whispered, octavia, tom and chris smiling at him. they knew sebastain was over the moon thrilled to be an uncle. olivia's tiny hand gripped onto sebastain's pointer finger, him chuckling.
"i love you, so much already. you're the cutest little baby." he placed a soft, loving kiss on olivia's head, passing her to chris.
"wow she literally is a mix of you two." "i would hope so."
chris loved kids. he's always wanted to start a family, have kids and settle down. being an uncle to olivia was the closest he was gonna get right now, and he was okay with that.
"hey sweetheart. i'm uncle chris, or uncle evans. there's a lot of chris's." olivia tried to wiggle out of her blanket, chris chuckling.
"no liv, you cant get out of your blanket yet." chris fixed the blanket wrapped around the new born, him placing a soft kiss on her head.
"i love you." he whispered softly, his blue eyes watered as he looked at olivia's small chocolate brown ones.
he passed olivia back to octavia, the nurse coming in to say they were gonna try breastfeeding. the two said goodbye to the new parents, leaving the room.
as the nurse was getting everything ready, octavia met toms eyes, a soft smile on her face.
"welcome to fatherhood tom." he chuckled, leaving a loving kiss on her lips.
"welcome to motherhood avi."

Draugr Cell //Layer 01-- Investiture:
With the end of the only war to ever reach mainland Australia I found myself living out of a small room in an old military compound that had been handed over to the jurisdiction of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The end of the war, unfortunately, didn't mean the end of hostilities. The terrorism trend that had started back in the early 2000's with the attack on the world trade center over in America, had spread to just about every country on the face of the planet. Over time the constant threat from various groups meant the civilian police force was quickly undermanned, under equipped, and overwhelmed. They were simply unable to respond to the daily threats in any reasonable time frame, and in many situations lacked the both the skills and equipment required to deal with the threats to put them down in a 'safe' and expedient manner. Veterans of the war that were being reintegrated into society however, were just about everywhere, all the time. We have the training and the skills required to deal with just about any threat you care to mention, all we needed was access to the equipment to do so. In a world first, under the new Veterans program, the Australian government had taken the rather controversial step of allowing specifically selected veterans to go armed in public. Sure, with Australian weapons laws being very, very strict there were a number of hurdles to get over first, but that's where the selection part comes in. Tangentially that's actually how I met Brianna, my current partner. We work as ringers in Victory City, I thought being thrown into imptomtu combat operations and risking my life on a daily basis for barely livable wages was excitement enough. Then I met her... it... I don't know. An AI unlike anything else out there has wedged itself into my life and decided it needs to... look after me. What could possibly go wrong? **** This is the first book I have released, and my first entry into a cyberpunk universe. There is minimal drug use, a fair amount of sex, a bit of gory violence, and a sultry AI that has decided the main character needs a harem.
