Shiva's P.O.V :

" Stop being ridiculous Aparna! This was out of our control! " I shouted.

" No, You should have been careful! You were careless, now look what happened! " Aparna shouted at me.

We were alone at the home as my parents were with Rajiv.

" I can't believe that you are blaming me alone! " I said whining.

" Shiva, we had a plan remember? " Aparna said moving her hair away from her face.

" Yes, that was before corona! " I said.

" You know what, I really want to find and kill the person who wished me that this year would be a productive one. I had everything planned. And now, this new confusion! " She said and sat on the couch.

" We are already fucked up because of this pandemic. Do you still think our plan for the next project is going to work out? , We can run for the next few months. Let's not pressure ourselves with predetermined goals. I know how you schedule everything, but life is not always about schedule. " I said and sat beside her.

" Oh yes, Mr. Doctorate in philosophy, all our friends will be shocked and I can't even imagine how much Shwetha will make fun of it! , so I give it in your hands to tell everyone " Aparna said and stood up.

I pulled her back and caged her in my hold.

" Not going to work " She said and tried hard to escape from me.

I held her tight and she finally gave up.

" Aren't you really not happy? " I asked her.

" Well, I am. But Shiva, that doesn't matter! " She said and turned to me. I loosened my hold a bit and looked at her.

" It is all that matters! " I said.

" No, it doesn't! " She said and turned away from my face.

" Why are you caring about what others will say, let's just live our life on our terms. Let's just go with the flow! " I said.

" It is so easy for you to tell! I am the one that has to suffer! " She said and bit my hand. I screamed and released her.

" Cannibal! I didn't know this was a symptom! " I said and shook my hand.

Aparna's phone rang and it was a video call from Prerna. Aparna took the phone from the table and turned on the call.

" Why are you both sitting together? " Aparna asked confused looking at the screen.

She walked back to the couch and sat with me.

Both Prerna and Rajiv were sitting together on the other side.

" What is happening? " I asked.

" Happy news for you both! " Prerna said.

" What is it? " Aparna asked curiously.

" You both might soon get a niece or nephew! " Rajiv shouted.

Finally, all their struggle has come to an end. Now they both can live without any fucked up pressure. They both didn't want a baby because others pressured them, they genuinely wanted it.

" Wow! Thank god! Congratulations my dear sister and Rajiv! " Aparna said.

" You know what, IVF didn't help us but this lockdown was the reason for the miracle! Yeah, so many couples suddenly are becoming pregnant! " Prerna said laughing.

I smiled and looked at Aparna who was also looking at me nervously.

Should we tell them? , I signalled to Aparna. She was shaking her head.

Why ? , I mouthed.

No! , she signalled back.

I decided to drop the bomb myself.

" Rajiv and Prerna, you both might get a niece or a nephew soon too, I am just saying you know " I said and laughed.

The other side was completely silent and Aparna was literally looking for the sharpest knife to kill me after I cut the call.

" Wow! " Rajiv said in disbelief. Prerna was still too shocked. She was shaking her head.

Aparna smiled at them nervously.

" Good thing that our children will grow up together! " Prerna said and laughed.

" That was quick! " Rajiv said and rolled in laughter.

Our faces became totally red after hearing all the laughter from my brother and Prerna.

" Tell amma appa soon, we won't tell them. I want you guys to do it." Rajiv said.

Me and Aparna nodded our head.

" I really wish I could fly to Chennai and hug you both! " Prerna said.

" Me too " Aparna said.

" See you soon! " Prerna said. And we waved good bye.

As soon as the call ended, I was running around the living room escaping from the dangerous wrath of my wife.

" Let's stop! I am getting old! " I said breathing heavily.

" This is all your fault! " Aparna said heaving. She was fanning her face and wiping out the sweat.

" You are not supposed to run like this! " I said hiding behind the dining table.

" You come here! You are dead! You messed up all my schedule for this year! Do I look like I have nine more months of free time! " Aparna said and picked up a pillow.

" Listen, it was not like I was the only one involved! Let's follow the principle of Non violence , Gandhi's daughter ! " I said defending myself.

Aparna couldn't run, she was trying hard to hide her smile. She wasn't giving up on her wrath either, and started swinging pillows at me. Three pillows attacked my face and I had no other option than to get hit.

Get married they said.

You would forever have a best friend they said.

But why the fuck they didn't tell about the death threats?
