Liam's POV
"It's okay Liam, I'll take you home." I heard Harry's voice enter my ears, slightly breathless, an indication that he was running.
The way home was silent. Harry started wheeling me home after I gave him directions, and then, no words were shared between us.
When we reached my doorstep, incessant words tumbled from Harry's mouth.
"I'm sorry, Liam. I'm so sorry, I wasn't thinking. I didn't mean to leave you alone."
"Harry, please don't, we both know that what you're saying right now is useless, for by Monday, you'll just bully me again, so why apologize?"
He looked to the ground with a pained expression on his face, but wisely kept his mouth shut after that. I turned to unlock the door, then Harry wordlessly wheeled me into the confines of my home.
"Do you need any help?"
"No, thanks. I can manage from here." I replied stoically.
"You sure?" I nodded in response.
"I'll be going then?" He awkwardly scratched his neck as he shifted uncomfortably under my gaze.
"Sorry for being a bane; I never asked for you to be stuck with me in the first place."
"It's fine, you shouldn't be the one apologizing." And with that, Harry turned on his heels and left my house.
I don't see the need for him to feel sorry, after all, he's not going to stop battering and bruising my soul.

When I 'stepped' into school on Monday morning, I immediately felt like something was different. No one stopped to snicker at me, no one jeered at me, no one spared me a judging look. I wasn't greeted with Harry and his friends' welcoming committee as per usual.
As I was about to turn to head to my English class, Harry appeared behind me, and deftly began to lead me to my class.

Not one hurtful comment fell from the boy's lips.
"Harry, what's going on?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why isn't everybody, including you, making fun of me?"
"I-I wanna show you how sorry I really am, and I promise that no one will bother you again around here." He pledged sincerely.
"Oh, wow." Was the only response I could muster.
When we finally reached my designated room, Harry turned to face me.
"I'll be waiting outside when you get out, do you need anything?" I was getting creeped out by the new Harry, he was... too nice.
"I'm really sorry Liam, I realized how much I've hurt you, so I'm sorry. I want to prove this to you."
The next couple of weeks were unorthodox to say the least. Harry was insanely sweet to me.
He always made sure I was all set before class, reached class on time, and reached the next class safely. He basically made everything at school run smoothly for me. No one bothered me anymore, and I was yet to know why.
"Am I forgiven yet?"
"Partially."
"Can I take you out on a date?"
"Are you seeing me properly? I'm Liam Payne, the cripple."
"And I would love to take you out on a date."
I smiled softly in response at his obdurate manner.
I definitely fully forgave him when he approached me one day on a wheelchair with a ring in his hands and a long proposal speech that had me in tears.
