Third Person's POV

"Harry can I please talk to you for a minute?"

"I'm busy Niall."

"But Harry, I'm bored and I would like to take you on a date."

"Niall I have to work, now kindly fuck off."

"Ha-"

"Would you please shut the fuck up."

"Fine."

Harry doesn't see the hurt in Niall's eyes.

"Harry, can you please come with me for a second. I want to show you something."

"No."

"Please?"

"No, Niall."

"Harry you have to see this."

"No, what I have to see is paperwork, now fuck off."

Niall leaves, goes to the candlelit table, and blows out the candles to the dinner he prepared to celebrate their anniversary.

"Happy anniversary Harry."

"Harry, do you want to grab some ice cream?"

"Unlike you Niall, I've got some important matters that I need to take care of."

"Why can't you just take a break? Don't you miss me?"

"You're always in my way, annoying me. So no, I don't miss you."

Niall wordlessly leaves, with tears in his eyes. This time, Harry sees them, and maybe, his heart breaks a little.

8:15 p.m.

"Where is Niall?" Harry wonders.

Harry leaves his office for the first time in... months? And goes to their room. There is no trace of Niall, and on their bed, lies a neon green note with a simple statement inking it.

"Challenge accepted, Horan."

Maybe Harry, did win that challenge.
