Third Person's POV
And Niall really didn't stop. He texted Harry and told him that it was alright and that it shouldn't affect their friendship.
It didn't.
They continued their normal routine like that encounter has never happened. This time, when Niall asked Harry out again it has been one year. They've been talking for one year now and Harry realized that maybe Niall was actually trustworthy, he has stuck around for a year after all. So Harry said yes and a faint streak of redness coated his cheeks for mere seconds, but Niall only smiled.
Having a one year long, close, friendship really had its perks, for Niall knew almost everything about Harry, and if he didn't there was little to discover. Their date was really simple, a candle-lit dinner, simply perfect.
"Harry can you tell me now why did it take you so long to accept my request?" Niall asked as he rested his head atop Harry's firm but comfortable chest. They were both lying down on the grass in Niall's backyard, because that's where the date had been. Harry stiffened for a second but relaxed when he felt Niall's tender fingers tracing soft patterns on his chest.
"It's just that, ever since high school I've never had a stable relationship. Whoever I dated ended up dumping me, saying that I was a good time. They all started by befriending me and then asking me out. I'd accept and the same thing happens every time, they either cheat on me or they dump me like I was nothing to them. When I first saw you, I felt like you were different than the others, but I couldn't be too sure. You became my friend, that's how the process starts, and then you asked me out. I panicked although I did want to say yes. Over the time, I learned to trust you and I fell for you even more along the way. It wasn't that difficult to accept your offer the second time." Harry finished, blushing again for what seemed to he the umpteenth time.

"Well Harry I can promise you that, I will stay with you as long as you want me to. I'll mess up, that's adamant, but I need you to understand that no matter what I'll always love you. Heck, I've loved you since I first saw you. Thank you for going out with me Haz." Niall looked up at him, and the blue eyed boy looked so precious at that moment that Harry couldn't help but lean in and capture his lips with his own.
"Don't make me regret it Niall."
"I won't." Niall confirmed firmly and leaned up to kiss Harry again. That's all what they did all night really. They savored the taste of the other because it was the perfect sense of closure.
Harry didn't regret it at all.
Niall had kept his promise and stuck by Harry for a long time now, it's been five years. They've fallen for each other in ways none of them thought was possible, but they didn't really care. Harry wasn't hesitant when he found Niall on one knee in front of him, simply asking,
"Will you marry me Hazzy?" Harry laughed through his happy tears and nodded fervently. He looked ridiculous but he didn't care, Niall just asked to marry him for god's sake.
It happened, Harry had fallen for him blindly, but he needn't to be afraid.

A Suspicious Lack of Horses
World: The framework of reality. The rules which govern interaction. The dimensions within which existence takes place. Soul: Mind. The source of thought, of consciousness. The means by which reality is observed. Body: Form. The means by which one interacts with the World. The substance from which reality is formed. Spirit: Life. The connection between Soul and Body. The anchor to the World. What happens when these foundational forces are given human form? When they're confronted with the truths of human nature, of human frailty? When the evils of reality are thrown in their face and the question is asked: What are you going to do about it? Why did anyone ever think they'd need horses? I upload ~30k word chunks at the beginning of every month, rotating through each character in order. I have at least four extra chunks on my Patreon. I suggest setting your reading preferences to indent and 30 pt paragraph spacing for the best reading experience.
