Louis's POV
Niall wouldn't let me take him out on a date because he decided that for once he wanted to do something special for me. I didn't put up a fight because I as well wanted to see what he had planned.
He dropped me off and told me to dress fancy and wait for him by 7 sharp. It was currently 6:50 and I was fidgeting with my loose shirt. I was sporting a pair of black skinny jeans, a black and white striped shirt, and a black blazer to go with it. I don't know if this was fancy enough, but I didn't want to overdo it.
I heard a soft but persistent knock on the door which caused my nerves to bubble. I opened the door to find Niall dressed quite similar to me, but still managing to look even better.
"Ready to go handsome?" He asked as he held out his hand for me.
"Yes, I'm ready." I answered blushing slightly when I took his hand. He tugged me gently towards his car and shut the door behind me when I was all set.
After the short but comfortably quiet ride, we reached our surprise destination, well for me it was. I took in the scenery in front of me and my eyes widened in realization, The London Eye! I can't believe he actually remembered and that he was paying attention to me when I talked about it.
****flashback****
"Hey Lou, what would your idea of a romantic date be?" Niall asked me once when we were in bed at night as he ran his fingers through my hair soothingly.
"I don't know probably going to The London Eye, why do you ask?"
"Nothing, a random question you know." He stated simply.

"What would you want as a romantic date?" I asked him, genuinely wanting to know.
"I've always liked the idea of going to the fair as a romantic date with my boyfriend." I hummed in response and then we were both quiet after that.
I did take him to the fair.
****flashback over****
"You remember?" I turned to him in shock.
"Of course I do Lou, you took me to the fair and now it's my turn to let you live your dream. Now c'mon in you go." He said chuckling at my still bewildered expression.
I carefully stepped into the glass cubicle awaiting us and took everything that was in there. In the middle there was a table all set with food, candles, and all. I looked to Niall again to find his eyes sparkling in amusement as he gazed upon me.
"So instead of ordering food I may or may not have asked Harry to make us something. We all know how terrible my cooking skills are." He said sheepishly.
"Thank you so much Ni, this is all amazing really." I said admiring and relishing in the fact that, finally Niall was trying.
"It's nothing compared to what you did for me Lou; you almost got yourself killed for me, so nothing could ever repay that." He said softly making my heart swell in happiness and fondness towards said boy.
"C'mon, let's eat." His smile was genuine, filled with happiness, and he looked so carefree and flamboyant. I wanted to gaze at that for forever. It was an endearing sight. You could say that from this point and on it was a compromise between us really. Niall was trying his best not to make me feel like I was the only one who was trying for this relationship. He made sure that I was always happy and content. If we did argue, which was adamant, he was the first one to apologize because he knew that I was too strong-headed to do so first. As for myself, I treated Niall even better now, I loved him even more.

I can tell you that, now, we were both stupid in love.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Adelaide
The entries here are transcribed from the log of Marie Ruiz, first mate of the Adelaide. It was definitely, definitely not published without her permission or knowledge by a certain lovable artificial intelligence for the purpose of sharing it with my AI friends on other ships who follow it like a soap opera. No way, no how. Remember guys, don’t go spreading this around too much. Only pass it on to those you can trust. God forbid this should ever end up on a public network… (Adelaide is a science fiction web serial featuring the adventures of a crew of smugglers. In space. It’s on the softer end of the soft/hard sci-fi spectrum because the author got a C in physics. Updates every other Sunday.)
