You were feeding the little one some mashed carrots when you heard the door open and a bag drop to the floor. Henry had been away for months filming his newest film Man from U.N.C.L.E. and clearly wanted to surprise you by not having you collect him from the airport.
"Welcome home babe" you said as Henrys figure came into view in the kitchen doorway.
"Thanks love, how's little Joshua doing?"
"Fine enjoying a light lunch"
Henry moved closer feeling a bit out of place in what was once his favorite place to be. Home felt like a stranger from when he left he noticed the little changed like the coffee maker being moved to a different counter and Joshua's new high chair.
You turned to him and gave him a hug breathing in his aftershave "I'm glad your back."
"I'm glad to finally be back with my two favorite people"
"Don't let your parents hear you saying that" you giggled pulling away as Joshua began to grunt at being ignored. " Do you want to finish feeding him?"
He smiled half heartedly "Sure if I still remember how."
"I'm sure you'll be fine." You smiled handing him the spoon and going to wash your hands.
"But he's looking at me like he doesn't even know who I am."
"It'll take a minute but you'll be fine I'm going to get some laundry done." You gave him a kiss on the cheek before leaving your two boys alone for some needed bonding.
"Well little one looks like it's you and me." Henry said sitting down in the chair you were once occupying.
Joshua looked up at Henry a bit confused before looking towards the door to where you just disappeared his face beginning to scrunch up in panic when he realized you left him with a strange man.

"Hey little muffin it's me papa"
Joshua looked up at him and began to cry furiously flailing his limbs.
Henry sighed fighting the urge to cry, his own son didn't recognize him. This was exactly what he sought to avoid once the two for you decided to start a family of your own. He never wanted to not be there enough that he missed important milestones but it seemed even that didn't really matter now.
You were loading the washing machine when you heard Joshua's cries getting closer. "What's going on Henry?"
Henry appeared in the doorway holding a squirming Joshua who quickly reached for you. "I'm going to take a shower, do you mind feeding him?"
"Sure" you took Joshua and started walking to the kitchen "are you alright?"
Without turning around Henry muttered yes and headed upstairs clearly upset.
"Now what is with all the crying little one?" You soothed bouncing him a bit as you walked back into the kitchen "Now don't pretend like you have not been watching all those interviews of daddy."
Joshua just sniffled into your shoulder holding onto your shirt.
You placed him back in his high chair and fed him the rest of his dinner before going upstairs to check on Henry and give Joshua a bath.
"Hey are you alright?" You walked into your bedroom only to find Henry unpacking his suitcase.
"Yeah I'm fine like I said." He snipped walking past you to put away some sweaters.
"Well you clearly aren't fine, look I know you're upset."
"I'm not I'm just tired it's been a long day okay?"
You sighed and rocked Joshua gently "Come help me bathe him."
"That's alright."
"Henry come help me bathe our son or you can sleep on the couch."

Henry sighed and looked at you a small smile on his face "Really? The couch?"
You tried to hide your smile but failed miserably "Okay I don't mean that but seriously Joshua is just being fussy he hasn't forgotten who you are."
"Well it sure seems like it."
"Quite frankly he's been fussy for a while I think he may start teething soon."
"Well it can't help to try again."
"That's the spirit! I'll go get him all ready and you get the bath ready alright?"
"Yeah sounds good."
Joshua the entire time you were chatting to Henry just looked back and forth between the two of you. He seemed to be better already although the bath would be the true test because he is still fussy about the bath.
You got Joshua ready and grabbed his towel from his room before heading to the hallway bathroom.
Henry was just getting out the bin of water toys for Joshua when you walked in.
"Are you ready for a bath Joshua?" you asked as he began squirming at the site of the soapy water.
Henry stood back for a moment unsure of whether or not he should resume things as usual.
"Here take him and bathe him I'm going to finish the laundry." You said handing Joshua over.
"But I thought we were bathing him together?"
"I think you'll be fine" you said hurrying away before Henry could put up a fight about it.
The next time you went into the bathroom the boys weren't there so you went to Joshua's room to see Henry rocking him to sleep.
"How was bath time?"
Henry smiled sheepishly "It was great he barely cried.
"See now I'd say the Cavill boys are back friends again wouldn't you?"
"Yeah I think so." He looked down at Joshua who was slowly nodding off fighting to keep his eyes open and smiled. He really was glad to be back home
