《Henry Cavill imagines》3. Mr and Mrs Denver

By: imagines-all-day-everyday
The vacant, still street was completely silent apart from the clicking of your heels on the pavement. The night was cool, cold actually. So cold that each breath became visible in front of you like a wisp of smoke as you exhaled. A breeze picked up on the street causing a shiver to run down your spine. In response to this you automatically gripped onto your leopard print coat, pressing it into your body more.
It didn't help that underneath this coat all you were wearing was a skin tight, barely there dress. It was designed to attract the attention of a certain sleazy, ex-government official and it had worked. You had retrieved the stolen government files just like Waverly had instructed you to do, now the problem was getting the hell out of here. Waverly had told you to meet him at a certain hotel but the problem was you had no money for a cab (there was no room for you to put it anywhere in your dress, obviously) and no way to call him to get yourself picked up.
So, you had to walk.
As you walked past a shop you glanced at your reflection in the glass. You noticed a man dressed in a suit on the opposite side of the street, it was too dark to see his face but you could immediately tell he was following you. You shifted your gaze to in front of you, pretending like you had not noticed him. You slightly sped up your pace, not too fast to make it look obvious as you continued down the deserted street.
You pulled out your compact mirror, pretending to check your lipstick to see the man behind you still following you, this time he was matching your pace. You noticed a park near you and immediately made a sharp right into it. It was poorly lit and even darker than the street. If you weren't an agent this would have been an extremely stupid decision but you knew what you were doing. It needed to be dark so no one would see you beat the absolute crap out of this guy.
He was gaining speed and by now you could hear his shoes behind you. You continued to act like you hadn't noticed him as you walked along the footpath as you approached a dark gazebo.
By now he was practically right behind you as you came to a stand still in the middle of the gazebo. The two of you stood in silence and you could feel his hot breath on the back of your neck which made the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
You counted to three in your head before spinning around connecting your fist with his jaw. You heard a loud crack but you knew it wasn't broken, you hadn't put enough force into the punch. He grunted as you pushed him against one of the support beams whacking his head against the wood. You kneed him as hard as you could in the stomach and he brought his hands up to protect his stomach from your attacks. You swung your leg behind him, knocking his legs from underneath causing him to fall down against the beam.
You grabbed him by the collar and shoved him onto his back, pressing your heel clad foot to his chest as you panted.
"Why are you following me?" You snarl as you dug your heal into his stomach causing him to grimace.
"Easy there princess, I was just following orders." He spoke smoothly and your eyes narrowed as you studied him. He was way to good looking to be your typical criminal, that and he was wearing a very nice suit.

"Who are you?" You questioned and a smirk tugged at his lips.
"CIA Agent Napoleon Solo at your service." He said sarcastically before winking at you and it dawned on you who he was.
"Wait you're that thief aren't you?" You realised and he nodded. "I prefer professional artefact redistributer but whatever takes your fancy." He smirked causing you to roll your eyes.
"I believe it's common curtesy for you to tell me who you are now." He spoke as he tried to get up. You pressed your foot down harder against his chest causing his body to smack back down on the concrete, signalling that he wasn't going anywhere.
"Agent *yn* *yln*, British Intelligence." You retorted and his eyebrows raised.
"Ah but you have an American accent?" He questioned and you shrugged.
"What can I say, Waverley likes to have his eyes and ears everywhere."
"Now that introductions are out of the way mind telling me why you were instructed to follow me?" You spoke. Even though the two of you had been somewhat pleasant towards each other you were highly aware that the two of you were on opposing sides.
"I would love to but I really think it's time for me to go." He spoke smoothly and before you could process what was happening he was pushing you off him in an attempt to get away. You stumbled as he began to sprint away. You sprinted after him (in heels mind you) and launched yourself onto his back.
You wrapped your arms around his neck in an attempt to put him in a headlock as he spun around to try and get you off him. He smacked you against the wood of the gazebo and you grunted as your hold on his neck tightened. He gripped your forearms and pulled you over his head. You let go momentarily before swivelling around and again knocking his feet from underneath him. You jumped onto him and the two of you rolled around as you basically wrestled each other.
"I see you two have become acquainted already." A voice spoke causing the two of you to pause mid wrestle and look over to see Waverly appearing out of the shadows.
"Waverly?" You muttered in confusion. For that brief moment of weakness Solo used it to his advantaged to flip on top of you and pin your arms down onto the concrete.
"Now, now Solo you don't want to kill your new team member on the first day do you?" A new voice laughed and you looked to see an unfamiliar man appearing from the other side of the gazebo.
"Sanders." Solo greeted casually although his forehead was creased in confusion.
"What do you mean new team member?" You questioned looking between the two older men.
"Well we were going to have this discussion at the hotel, but I suppose this is better than anywhere else." Waverley sighed as he looked around at the dodgy gazebo.
"Do you mind getting off me?" You snap glaring at Solo.
"Well I'd be happy to stay here for a while longer, but if you insist." Solo flirted causing you to stare daggers at him. He obliged and got off you, offering his hand to you. You ignored it and got up yourself, brushing off your coat.
"You know Agent Teller *yn*?" Waverley asked and you nodded. Gaby and you had met a few times here and there, she seemed nice enough.

"Well you see Ms Teller, Solo and a Russian agent by the name of Kuryakin have been in a secret group for a while with the code name U.N.C.L.E." He explained and your brows furrowed. Russia, America and Britain? That just sounded like a recipe for disaster.
"I'm confused what does this have to do with me?" You questioned and Sanders scoffed.
"You sure you picked the brightest out of your bunch Waverley?" He sneered causing you to glare at him.
"Says the guy whose top agent is an ex-criminal." You retort causing Solo to smirk and shake his head. You were feisty and he couldn't deny that he liked that about you.
"I'd appreciate it if you didn't insult my agent, Sanders." Waverley spoke calmly before turning to you.
"There's a new threat, one that's kind of world-ending. You know the drill. The UNCLE team has been given the job but they need a fourth member for this to really work. And I thought you would be perfect. They need your skills Agent *yln*. Of course this isn't negotiable but just thought I'd give you the heads up." Waverley explained and you stood there as you tried to process everything.
"Well we'll be off, I'm sure Solo can fill you in." Waverley smiled patting your shoulder before nodding towards Sanders. "Oh and try not to kill each other."
That was all that was said before the two vanished into the night. You scoffed and shook your head. Typical Waverley, dropping a bombshell on you and then vanishing before you could process what was happening.
"Welcome to the team." Solo smirked mischievously.
"So this woman Victoria Vinciguerra-" You glanced at Gaby to make sure you pronounced her name right and she nodded allowing you to continue.
"and her husband kidnapped Gaby's estranged father to build an atomic bomb to destroy the world or something. So Solo and Illya had to pair up to protect Gaby and infiltrate the family. Basically you failed in that and got busted because Gaby had to pretend to give you guys up which was actually Waverley's orders so her cover wasn't blown. Then he lost her so he got Solo and Illya back together and you ended up getting the bomb, killing her husband in the process. It ended up being the wrong bomb but there was a coupling device and you used that to lock onto her boat and blow her up?" You asked looking around at the three.
"Yeah that's basically it." Gaby shrugged.
"Oh don't forget the part about how her uncle Rudy ended up being a nut job who was going to torture me and rip my eyeballs out." Solo added casually.
"Right how could I forget that?" You quipped sarcastically. "I'm confused though, what has this got to do with this new mission?" You asked.
"It's got everything to do with it." Illya spoke up, his Russian accent thick.
"Turns out Victoria has a sister, Vivienne." Solo began and you scoffed. Of course someone named their daughters Victoria and Vivienne.
"She was extremely close with Victoria and turns out they've been in cahoots this whole time. She runs a transport business in Brussels which we believe is actually a cover. We thought that Gaby's father only made two copies of the nuclear bomb instructions but he made three and Vivienne has gotten her hands on it. Of course saying she's just a little pissed at us for blowing up little Vicky is a bit of an understatement. She's fuming. Wants revenge. And from what we've heard she's a lot more sexier, smarter, devious and blood thirsty than Victoria ever was. She's determined to finish what Victoria started." Solo explained.
"So basically. We're screwed." Illya started causing you to laugh.
"Well I'm always up for a challenge. You guys thought of a plan?" You asked looking at the three of them expectantly. The three of them exchanged awkward glances and Solo had a smirk on his face and you knew that you weren't going to like it.
"Like Victoria she has an interest in expensive art. There are also rumours that Vivienne gets a kick out of seducing married men who are associated with her business and she likes to play games. So she'll become friends with the woman which makes it more painful for them when they find out their husband has been cheating on them." Gaby explained and your nose crinkled in disgust. What a bitch.
"Right, that's good. So if you pose as a married couple you can try to infiltrate her little company." You nodded but you were still confused why they needed you.
"Also... she has a thing for American guys." Gaby spoke awkwardly.
You still didn't see the problem, Gaby and Napoleon could easily pose as a- Oh shit. It suddenly dawned on you. It wouldn't make sense if a German and an American were together. Now you realised why they needed you in the team. You glanced at Solo and that annoying smirk was on his lips and you knew that he could tell you'd figured it out.
"Oh no. Nup. There is no way in hell I am pretending to be married to.. to.. to him!" You exclaim pointing a finger at Solo.
"Oh no don't worry about my feelings.. really." He said sarcastically causing your annoyance to grow.
"*yn* we need you to do this, please. I've seen you in action you're one of the most talented agents I've ever known. You can make anything look believable. Please." Gaby begged.
"And no pressure or anything but if this doesn't work out, Vivienne might just blow the world up." Illya added and Gaby slapped him over the head causing him to grumble some words in Russian under his breath.
You sighed as you glanced over at Solo. You were always going to do it you just wished it couldn't be him. You hardly knew him but you knew his type. Smooth, could charm the pants off a nun, and ridiculously attractive. That was the type you always fell for and ended up getting hurt when they screwed you over.
"If he tries anything, he's going to be the one to get blown up." You threatened before standing up to make your way to your room.
"Honey don't be like that." He said dryly causing you to roll your eyes and slam your door shut. A smirk twitched on his lips, shoving his hands into his pockets as he made his way into his own room leaving Gaby and Illya alone.
"How much do you want to bet they end up together?" Gaby smirked.

Sod's Law (Dropped)
This fiction has been dropped, you're more than welcome to read it anyway (there is sort of an ending). But you have been warned... Sod's law is a more extreme version of Murphy's law. While Murphy's law says that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong (eventually), Sod's law requires that it always goes wrong with the worst possible outcome. For example, concepts such as "bad fortune will be tailored to the individual" and "good fortune will occur in spite of the individual's actions" are sometimes given as examples of Sod's law in action. This would broaden Sod's law to a general sense of being "mocked by fate". In these aspects it is similar to some definitions of irony, particularly the irony of fate. - Definitions of Sod's Law on Wikipedia. The protagonist, as many before them, and many who followed, thought they were just entering a VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing-Game). Unbeknownst to them however, was a short paragraph in the Terms & Conditions, that, upon agreement, would actually transport them to a fantasy world, loosely based on the game they thought they were entering. - Something anyone could be forgiven for, no-one reads them after all. In this new world, they discover that people are born with “Traits”, a System recognised, ability, skill, or talent, that they are born with. Sod's Law was not a trait they, or anyone else for that matter, would want. Pure madness follows. Yup, this is about a character transferred to a fantasy game-world with the worst luck imaginable. This is my first fiction so I apologise for any grammar and spelling mistakes that may be made. Hopefully it is readable, and if so please tell me! But if it's not, also tell me, but in a constructive way if at all possible? Due to the nature of the “Trait” the story will be dark in places, with plenty of gore and profanity, hence the tags. There may also be scenes of a sexual nature, but nothing full on – sorry guys but you'll have to go elsewhere for that.
