《Something Unimaginable (Niall Horan Fanfic) Book 3》Fixing You

Zayn:

The boys and I were going on promo tour for the month of October in a week so we had a lot of meetings discussing things about it. I had just gotten done with one of those meetings and I walked into my silent flat. The silence made me nervous. Perrie and Xara usually made a lot of noise. Perrie was usually singing and Xara would be talking away or giggling. The TV would be playing some toddler show or a movie, but the flat was silent. Perrie's car was in the shop and it was raining so it was unlikely that they had gone anywhere.

"Anyone home?" I asked slipping my shoes off and walking farther into the flat.

"Dining room." I heard Perrie say.

I walked into the room and found Perrie sitting at the table by herself. "Where's Xara?" I asked walking into the kitchen to get a drink of water. I could feel the tension in the room but I didn't know why it was there. It was starting to make me nervous.

"Zayn can you sit down please?" Perrie squeaked out.

I started to panic, "Where's Xara? Is she okay? What happened?"

"Xara is fine, I asked Kiersten to take her. Please sit down."

I sighed in relief and sat down next to her grabbing her hand and lacing our fingers together like I always did. She pulled her hand away and I frowned unsure of what was going on. "What's going on, babe?" I asked looking at her.

"I-uh, I need to talk to you."

"Okay, what about? Is everything okay?"

Perrie let out a long sigh, "I don't really know how to go about this, Zayn. So I'm just going to say it. I'm breaking up with you."

"What?! Why?"

"I love you, Zayn. And Xara, too. But I'm not ready to be a mom. Especially not to someone who's not even my child."

My heart broke. It was happening again. I wasn't going to show her how hurt I was, though. I wouldn't let her see that. I pushed my chair back and walked back into the kitchen. When Perrie didn't move I snapped, "You can leave, now."

Perrie whimpered behind me, but honestly I didn't feel bad. "Zayn, please. We can still be friends. I still want to see Xara. I just don't want to be her mum."

I shook my head trying to control my anger. "No one asked you to be!" I yelled turning around to look at her. "I NEVER asked you to be her mum, never. What do you want me to tell her when you're not here as much? When we don't kiss anymore? When you can feel the difference in the air? It would be easier to just tell her Perrie left. She shouldn't have a hard time understanding that. Because Perrie is leaving. Just. Like. Reyna did."

Perrie's face dropped, "Zayn, I'm sor-"

"No. Don't even apologize I get it. I do. Just get your stuff and get out. I don't need you. I don't need any other girl. I'm completely capable of raising my daughter on my own. So just leave before you hurt me even more." Perrie mumbled something that I couldn't hear, "What? I can't hear you when you mumble."

"I said that I never meant to hurt you. And my stuff is already gone."

"Yeah, well you did. And good." I snapped, "That means you can get out faster."

Perrie slowly nodded, "I'm sorry." She said before leaving. I heard the door shut and I walked over to the liquor cabinet. I grabbed the first bottle I saw and took a long swig. I texted Kiersten and told her she could bring Xara back.

I plopped myself down on the couch and drank the harsh liquid until I was numb. After a while I stood up and stumbled towards Xara's nursery.

Kiersten:

I was playing with Xara in the guest room where she had a bunch of toys that slowly gathered at our house.

"Babe?" I heard Niall yell, "Where you at?" I could hear him pounding up the stairs like a little kid.

"Right here." I said stepping out of the room so he would see me.

"What are you doing in there?" He asked giving me a kiss.

"Tootie's here. Perrie asked me to watch her." I said wrapping my arms around his waist. I missed him whenever we weren't together. Even if it was just for the day, "How was your day?" I asked closing my eyes as I took in the warmth of his body.

"It was fine. I've got a bit of a headache though. Louis was extra loud today, for whatever reason." He said hugging me closer.

"Aw, I'm sorry, babe. Do you want some medicine?" I rubbed his back a little bit.

"Nah, I'm good. You look pretty dressed up to just be watching Tootie. Were you going somewhere before Perrie called?" He asked.

I looked down at my outfit (http://www.polyvore.com/untitled_73/set?id=71815795) and sighed. "Uh yeah. I was supposed to have lunch with Robert Downey Jr. He's in London for a few days and wanted to talk to me about something."

"Oh that's cool, what did he want to talk about?"

"Doing a sequel. If I do it, it won't be for a while, like not tell next year." I said bracing myself for Niall to be mad.

"That's cool baby, I think you should do it." He said giving me a kiss.

"Wait you're not mad?"

"No...should I be?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"Well, no. It's just...I kind of expected you to be."

"Well last time, you were leaving in four days...this is going to be like months right?" I nodded. "Well there's a high chance of me being on tour anyway, and I'd rather you be off doing something than just sitting around the house waiting for me to get back. And I'd rather you be acting than modeling."

"You don't want me modeling?" I asked biting my lip. I automatically assumed the worse. I assumed he didn't think I was good enough or pretty enough to model.

I could tell by the expression on Niall's face that he knew what I was thinking. "Baby." Niall said holding on to my chin. "That's not what I meant. I think you're the best model in the entire world. If I could I would keep you locked up in a tower, so only I could look at how beautiful you are." He said giving me a sloppy kiss making me giggle. "If you want to go back to modeling, then it's your decision, but when you're modeling for an agency you don't even own your own body, boo. So if you want to go back to modeling do some freelance modeling. But, for now, do this acting job, and just be the greatest wife ever, yeah?"

I nodded giving him a kiss, "Thank you." I whispered.

"For what?" He asked looking confused.

"For just being you." He just smiled and gave me another kiss, before leading me to where Tootie was.

We walked back into the guest room and Xara grinned when she saw Niall. "Ni!" She yelled holding her arms up so he would pick her up.

"Hey, beautiful. What'd you two do today?"

"Pwayed. Cook brownies. You eat one yet?"

"Mmhm, I had two when I got home."

"Two?!"

"Yeah, two." He said holding up two fingers.

"That's a lot, Ni." She said giving him a look, making him laugh. She handed him a doll and they started playing.

My phone buzzed with a text from Zayn telling me that I could bring Xara back to his house. "You want to go home, pretty girl?" I asked Xara pushing her dark hair out of her face and looking into her stunning bright green eyes.

"Daddy?" She asked.

"Yep, Daddy's home. You want to see him?"

She nodded jumping up and rushing around like she was trying to get ready, even though all the stuff she had brought with her was down stairs. Niall and I just laughed as we watched her.

"You want to come with?" I asked playing with Niall's hair as I stood next to where he sat on the bed. "We can get something to eat after we drop her off."

Niall nodded leaning his head against my torso, "Can we go to Wagamama's?"

"Sure." I said running my fingers through the hair on the back of his head. I could tell he really wasn't feeling well but he didn't want to admit it. "You should really take something, babe."

He shook his head, "I'm fine."

"Weady!" Tootie yelled. Niall and I looked at her and laughed. Nothing had changed she just looked a bit flustered and out of breath. All she had done was run around picking stuff up and mumbling. She had obviously watched Zayn and Perrie get ready to go places. "Come on." She said pulling me away from Niall.

I scooped her up and the three of us made our way out to the car. I made Niall let me drive, because I figured he would just want to relax a bit.

I knocked on Zayn's door but there was no answer. Niall turned the handle to see if it was locked and the door swung open displaying the destroyed apartment.

"Go up to Louis and Eleanor's flat. I'll check this out and figure out what's going on and then call you." Niall said squeezing my hand.

I nodded and kissed his cheek, "Please be careful."

"I will. Love you."

"Love you, too." I said and walked with Xara in my arms to the elevator that would take us up three floors to where Louis and Eleanor lived.

Niall:

"Zayn, mate, you here?" I asked shutting the door of the flat and walking inside.

I made my way through the destruction carefully and eventually found Zayn passed out on the floor of Xara's destroyed nursery. I could see the tear stains on his cheeks.

"Zayn." I said nudging him in the side with the toe of my white Nike high tops. He didn't move or say anything but I could hear him breathing so I nudged him a little harder. Still nothing. I walked across the hall to the bathroom and grabbed a cup of cold water.

"What the fuck?!" Zayn yelled sitting up and glaring at me, his wet hair now matted to his head. I could smell the alcohol on his breath.

"What happened?" I asked gesturing to the destroyed room.

"Perrie left."

"And Xara's nursery is destroyed because...?" Zayn just stared at me and I realized that Perrie hadn't just left to go to the store or anything. She was gone. Not coming back. "Shit." I said sitting down on the floor next to him. "I'm sorry, Z. You want to talk about it?" I asked wrapping an arm around his shoulder.

"She didn't want to be a mum. Same fucking reason as Reyna. Why does this always happen to me Niall?" He asked angrily. I put the pieces together and assumed that he had drunkenly and subconsciously taking his hurt and anger out on the closest thing to Xara that he could get his hands on, which happened to be her nursery. I knew he would never intentionally hurt her, she was his whole world but he was drunk and he more than likely had no idea what he was doing.

"I don't know mate, you'll find the right girl, one day." I was at a loss for words. I didn't know how to comfort him. I could only imagine what he was feeling.

Zayn just ignored me and stood up stumbling out of the room, obviously still drunk. "Where's Xara?" He snapped.

"Zayn, I don't know if it's best you see her."

"Why the fuck not?" He hissed.

"Because you're a fucking mess right now!" I yelled. Before I knew what was happening Zayn had picked up me up by my shirt and slammed he against the wall. Well that definitely didn't help the migraine I had.

"Let me see my daughter!" He yelled, he was angry but there was also sadness and pain in his eyes. I could see the tears that were threatening to spill over.

"No, she doesn't need to see you like this." I said shaking my head.

Zayn let go of my shirt and let me drop to the floor. He let out a loud yell and threw something across the room.

I just shook my head at him, "I'll come back later and check on you. Maybe then Xara can stay. Try and sober up for your daughter, yeah?" I asked before stomping out of the flat. I was truly worried for Zayn. I had never in all my years of knowing Zayn seen him like that.

I rapped my knuckles against the door of Louis and Eleanor's flat and it quickly swung open showing a worried looking Louis. "Everything okay? Tootie really wants to see Zayn."

I shook my head, "That's not going to happen. Can I come in? I'll explain everything."

Louis nodded letting me in. "Daddy?" Xara asked when she heard someone walk into the room. She looked around me and her brows furrowed in confusion, "Where daddy, Ni?" She asked her big green eyes getting watery.

My heart broke as I scooped the toddler up off the floor cradling her to my chest, "Don't cry, princess please." I whispered in her ear.

"Daddy." She whimpered into my shoulder. I felt her clench my shirt in her tiny fists and I sighed, not sure how to go about this. Obviously I didn't want to keep Xara and Zayn away from each other but I also wanted to make sure that Xara was safe. I had never seen him that angry. Zayn had never laid a hand on me in a non-joking manner. What I saw in his flat truthfully scared me, and I was sure that I didn't want Xara there.

I rubbed Xara's back lightly contemplating my options. I decide trying to get Xara to take a nap would be the best bet and then I would talk things over with Kiersten, Louis, and Eleanor. Actually, I should probably just have everyone come over.

"Lou, call Harry and Liam. I'm going to try and get her down for a nap, and then I'll explain everything to everyone at once."

Louis nodded grabbing his phone.

"Babe?" I said quietly and Kiersten looked up at me with worried eyes. "Can you get her some milk?"

Kiersten nodded and quickly got the sippy cup of milk. I made my way in to the guest room and told Kiersten to lie down on the bed. I was Xara's favorite uncle, but Kiersten reigned supreme over everyone but Zayn, so I knew that if anyone was going to get Xara to sleep it would be Kiersten.

Kiersten held Xara in her arms as Xara quietly drank the milk. Kiersten's fingers lightly stroked her tear stained cheeks and I held the two of them in my arms.

I sang Xara's favorite songs quietly and Kiersten gently rocked her. Xara's eyes started getting droopy and I knew then it was time to stop singing and just let her get to sleep.

"Perrie left. He's a mess." I whispered in Kiersten's ear as I rested my forehead against her temple.

"I figured that's what it was." She said. And I kissed her ear gently. "What's going to happen, Ni? Do you think Zayn can really handle this? He was just starting to get over Reyna."

I sighed, "I honestly don't know. I've never seen him like that. It actually scared me a bit. He's never acted like that with me before."

"Did he hurt you?" She asked even more quietly as if she was almost afraid to know the answer.

"He grabbed my shirt and pushed me up against the wall. It didn't really help my headache. But he didn't hurt me. He was just angry that I wouldn't let him see Xara."

Kiersten nodded, "What if he's broken for good?"

I sighed, "Everything is going to be okay."

"Everyone is here." Eleanor said quietly stepping into the room. Kiersten and I both nodded and Kiersten slipped Xara onto the bed and covered her with a blanket.

I sat on a recliner and pulled Kiersten into my lap. I explained to everyone the situation and they all took a deep breath taking it all in.

"Do you think he's going to be okay?" Harry asked.

"Eventually. But I have no idea when."

"What are we going to do with Xara?" Danielle asked cradling Elise in her arms.

"Niall and I will take her." Kiersten said not missing a beat.

"Are you sure, love? We can all trade until we think Zayn should take her." Louis said.

"No. It'd be best if she was in the same place. Does anyone know what Zayn was going to do with Xara while you guys were doing your promo thing?" Kiersten asked.

Everyone shook their heads no. "I'll call Paul and ask." Liam said pulling out his phone. He talked to Paul for a couple minutes before hanging up. "Paul says that Xara was going with."

"Okay, well when the time comes, we'll figure it all out." Kiersten said. "Let's just focus on right now."

Everyone agreed and we all quickly said goodbye so we could get back home.

Zayn:

As soon as Niall left I just started drinking again. I knew I shouldn't have been but I just didn't know what else to do.

Kiersten:

I was lying with my head on Niall's chest in the theatre room watching Beauty and the Beast. Xara had passed out on a section of the couch not too far away from us.

We had gone out to dinner at Wagamama's and then let Xara to pick out a movie that she wanted to watch.

"You know," Niall started running his fingers up and down my spine. "You and me are kind of like beauty and the beast." He said kissing the top of my head.

I snorted, "Yeah, but you're Beauty and I'm the Beast."

Niall didn't say anything, we just finished watching the movie in silence. After it was over Niall carried Xara upstairs and into the guest room that we had transformed into her room for the duration of her stay.

I had turned on some pointless show when Niall appeared in the door way, "Come upstairs." He said before turning around and leaving. I could hear him stomping up the stairs. Not in angry way. That's just the way he walked, he sounded like an elephant.

I was confused by his actions but I knew better than to not go upstairs. If wasn't up there within the time limit of his liking he would just come down and get me. I made my way to the elevator too lazy to walk up to the third floor from the basement.

I walked into the bedroom and found Niall sitting on the edge of the bed staring at the carpet.

"Did you need something?" I asked quietly.
