5 years later
"calum, your apartment is gross, you need to start cleaning it." the blonde groaned as he got out of the bed. the two lovers been spending a lot of time with each other, having sex, cuddling, and cooking together. it's been really nice for the both of them.
calum licked his lips as he stared at his boyfriend enter the bathroom naked—possibly to take a quick shower. he put some clothes on, and headed downstairs into his kitchen.
as he poured cereal into his bowl, he clicked on the tv in his living room watching the news for background noise.
after the situation with lulu, their relationship has gotten stronger and they learned to talk things out instead of keeping them in.
luke emerged from the bathroom with wet dark hair and dry clothes. he looked around his boyfriend's apartment and shook his head. "babe, it looks really bad"
calum ate a spoonful of cereal and shrugged. he moaned, motioning luke to look at a letter he received in the mail. "remember suan from college?"
luke nodded, grabbing the pink envelope and opening it.
"well, his sister, Ana, is getting married and she invited us." he raised his eyebrows at the blue eyed man.
he furrowed his brows, "why are couples choosing to get married so young?"
calum put down his empty bowl on the counter, "i'm 25 and you're 24 i think we're at a good age, you know?"
luke made a face and read the invitation. "it's next week, in france. wow, original."
the brown eyed man sighed and walked into the living room. "we're going." he changed the channel to a trash reality show. "i dont find marriage intimidating. if it's with the right person, with who you love."
luke walked into the living room and stood in front of calum with his arms crossed. he raised his eyebrows. "i think these couples rush into it. 17 years after knowing someone is the perfect time."
calum's jaw dropped, "are you fucking serious?" luke nodded and went to sit next to him smiling to himself.
*
after long hours on the plane, the two arrived in marseilles, and they checked into their hotel before they would meet suan and ana. "this room is really nice." luke moved in his suitcase.
calum agreed and began to unpack his clothes into the closet rack. the wedding was two days away. so they were planning on touring around the first two days do the rehearsal, then attending the wedding on the last day.

once they unpacked they met with suan and his sister. "so suan what's new?" luke hummed while looking at the sights around him.
"got a new girlfriend, her name is susanna and she's gorgeous. right now she works retail, but my job covers a lot of our household funds." suan entailed while walking with everyone.
luke made a face, "you already live together? calum and i don't even live together yet."
suan nodded, "yeah, we've been together for 4 years, so it just seemed natural to the both of us." he looked at calum and then to luke. "are you guys not thinking of settling any time soon?"
luke shook his head quickly, "no, i think a lot of couples rush into things, and it ends up really hurting their relationship." calum didn't say anything but rolled his eyes.
the group toured around for a few more hours and headed back to their hotel rooms. calum was getting ready for bed when luke walked into their room. "what's up, you've been quiet. and usually by now you're ripping off my clothes. and you're about to...sleep."
calum peeked up at him through a magazine he found on the bedside table. "i'm fine. it's just the way you acted today."
luke sat next to him on the bed while furrowing his eyebrows. "i'm sorry."
"for what?"
"well you're angry with me—"
"do you know why?" calum raised his eyebrows registering his boyfriend shake his head solemnly. "i just think your opinion wasn't asked for about ana and suan. if they choose to get married or move in with their respective partners, let them. i think their timing is great, anyway." he looked back toward his magazine.
the blonde licked his lips and stared at his boyfriend who refused to look up from the magazine. "you think getting married at our age is reasonable?"
"well yeah, if a couple is in love and cannot see themselves with anyone else. i think they're ready."
luke stared into his brown eyes. "so...you think, we're ready?"
calum nodded slightly and turned to his magazine again. "unless you see yourself with someone else i don't understand why i can't wake up with you every morning."
luke hummed and smirked, "didn't know you were ready to get married. you love me that much?" he stood up from the bed still holding a slight smirk.
"yes. do you not?"
luke sighed and rolled his eyes, "i love you more than anyone in the world, so obviously. but i just felt our relationship would fail if we just rushed into marriage."

"we've known each other since we were kids, Lucas, obviously it wouldn't."
he licked his lips, "i don't know." he rubbed the back of his head, "because you know after everything we've been through, it would be shit if i lost you."
calum agreed, "but that wouldn't happen though. every relationship isn't easy, but i think that's what makes it even more exciting don't you think?"
luke just stared at him, "i guess so." he raised his eyebrows and licked his lips again scanning calum over. he leaned toward him and kissed him softly. calum grabbed luke's face and they began to make out slowly.
their tongues explored each others mouths as luke moved onto the bed crushing the magazine between them. he began to grind down on calum and they began to pant and moan, taking layers of clothes off. calum kissed and sucked upon his boyfriend's neck leaving hickeys and scratches on his bare pale back.
luke reached in the drawer next to them and grabbed a condom they placed in there. he quickly put it on and prepared calum. he began to drill in and out of calum leaving him to move restlessly. the brown eyed man grabbed the headboard behind him moaning loudly, not giving a damn if their hotel neighbors heard.
*
luke and calum looked at their cute name tags by their seats after the ceremony. ana and her husband—Erik, their vows were absolutely breathtaking and so was the view.
their food was placed on the place mats. calum received a salmon with rice while luke opted for lobster and mashed potatoes and a side salad. laughs and conversation were thrown around the table. everyone was relatively getting along—with the help of wine.
luke kept drinking and drinking and ended up a little tipsy while calum could handle his wine. "are you okay?"
"yeah yeah i'm fine." luke dismissed his boyfriend quickly kissed his cheek. "i'm going to head to the bathroom."
"i don't think you should go alone, i can come with you?"
luke got up and assured him he would be fine, stumbling to the rest room, as everyone else entered the dance floor. it was a big ball room, and the bride and groom shared their first dance.
the blonde stared at himself in the mirror was rinsed his face with water. he licked his lips and thought about last night.
after the two had sex luke had his boyfriend's hand intertwined with his. he was pondering about actually getting married this early. he was always set on but seeing how beautiful and peaceful calum looked while sleeping, he felt he may be ready.
even when they did have issues they always figured out ways to work it out. he smiled to himself and kissed calum's temple, shortly after noticing a change in calum's breathing, he seemed even more calm.
he just knew he was hopelessly and completely in love with the mess of a man in his arms.
he smiled and left the bathroom finding his boyfriend looking at everyone dancing in the big ballroom. the blonde quickly stood in front of him holding out his hand. they began to dance, calum's smile unmistakably large.
*
"good morning." calum smiled while entering the kitchen. luke was leaning on the counter drinking black coffee. calum wrapped his arms around his boyfriend's waist and leaned up to kiss his lips. "how did you sleep my love."
"pretty good." he smiled into the kiss, "i made you coffee."
calum added a shit ton of creamer and sugar into it, "yum."
"so remember a month ago when you were talking about how ready you are for marriage?" luke raised his eyebrows.
calum nodded licking the sugary beverage from his lips. "yeah, i've been ready for a while, i've been waiting on you."
"well—you don't have to wait anymore." luke set his coffee mug on the counter and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "i'm ready."
calum smiled really loud and set his coffee down and hugged him. luke laughed quietly, patting his back. "i'm so happy!!! i love you so much."
"i love you too." luke kissed him softly smiling into the kiss.
*
1 year later
the hood-hemmings wedding was set in the galleria ballroom and over 100 guests attended. calum and luke bought an apartment together in new york.
"make sure you clean the dishes, cal." luke headed toward the door to go to work raising his eyebrows at calum.
the brown eyed man twisted his band on his ring finger reminiscing the moment they got married. he smiled at him and kissed his lips. "i will, i promise"
"alright" luke smiled a bit, "i love you."
"i love you too" calum went into their kitchen and began to clean his dishes. "when i get back from work, we can talk about having 28 kids."
luke shook his head while smiling and closed the door heading to his office. after cleaning calum headed to work, and didn't waste anytime telling people about his marriage story after seeing his wedding band.
