《I Don't Like You - Beomgyu x Taehyun》XV

classes ended everyone headed their own separate ways and Beomgyu decided to go to his dorm and catch up on his rest. Stepping into his room he realized how lonely it was. Beomgyu casted his gaze to the rushly made bed Taehyun had used; this is the first time he's been by himself since he had his date with Jennie. Part of him thought it was nice while the other part of him just didn't feel right. Before Beomgyu even realized he had started walking he was at the end of the empty bed. He let out a frustrated groan, what was wrong with him? After shaking away his thoughts he picked up the clothes he let Taehyun wear that night off of the floor. He blinked a few times at the red and blue shirt, it has always been his favorite shirts but he knew that wasn't the reason he was being drawn to it. Sighing he sat back down on his bed and held the article of clothing tight in his arms.

Taehyun is all Beomgyu could think about. The boy didn't know when or how he started growing feelings for the younger, but it just happened. He wished he could go back in time to last night and change what he said to Taehyun. Beomgyu was fighting with his sexuality and let his fear answer for him and he regrets it. Taehyun hates him now. Well, that might be an overstatement but Beomgyu can tell how uncomfortable he's been acting around him. It really hurts but it's impossible to change the past so he had to change now. Gathering up all the courage he had he dialed Taehyun's number.

It rang once.

Twice.

Three times now.

There goes a fourth.

Right when Beomgyu was about to give up her heard a click followed by, "Hello."

Hearing Taehyun's voice put a smile on the older's face, "Hey, Taehyun I-"

"Sorry, you've reached my voicemail. Leave a message and I'll try to get back to you as soon I can."

Beomgyu quickly hit the end call button and let his hand drop to his side.

"I guess sometimes it's impossible to fix things," he laughed as tears started to roll down his face, "Especially when the other person obviously stopped caring."

-

"Do you have to go?" Taehyun groaned and he buried himself under his blanket, "I'll be bored."

"Gives you a taste of your own medicine," Kai stuck his tongue out, jokingly.

"I know, I know, I'm an awful friend," the older let out a fake sob.

"Be quiet already," Kai threw his hoodie he had just taken off at the other, "I can't decide what I want to wear."

"Does it matter?" Taehyun raised an eyebrow, "It's just Yeonjun."

"I know," Kai rolled his eyes, "but unlike you I have this kinda cute image going around that I have to maintain."

Taehyun laughed, "Yeah ok."

After another minute or so of Kai throwing around articles of clothing, he pulled out a light pink sweater and paired it with a white baseball cap, "I guess this will have to do," he turned around to face Taehyun, "How do I look?"

Taehyun looked up from his phone, "About the same."

"Wow, Kai! You look super cute," Kai placed a hand on each of his cheeks, "I wish I looked as great as you."

"So you and Yeonjun," Taehyun ignored the younger's mockery, "Are you guys like a thing or something now?"

"Wha-" Kai dropped his shoe, "No it's nothing like that."

"Really?" Taehyun eyed the other as he bent down to finish putting on his shoes.

"Yes really!" Kai whined, "Is it really that hard to believe two people can hang out without being romantically interested."

"Yes."

Kai chuckled, "You're so stupid."

"I guess that's what I get for hanging out with you all this time," the brown haired boy teased.

"Yeah you're right. I'm just so smart that you realized how dumb you actually are right?" Kai lifted an eyebrow.

"Whatever makes you happy," Taehyun smiled, "but seriously, I didn't think you guys were that close."

Kai shrugged, "We're all going to be together for a long time. We should be close with everyone, don't you think?"

"Yeah," Taehyun played with the collar of his shirt, "You're right."

"Well obviously," the black haired boy smirked, "Besides he asked me if I wanted to hang out with him after I finished patching up his wound this morning, so I was like why not."

Taehyun smiled, "That's good. What are you guys going to do."

"I'm going to teach him how to make oragami back at him dorm," Kai grinned, "Did you know I was in a folding paper club back in elementary school?"

"Wow you were such a cool kid," the older sneered.

"Hey!" Kai shot him a nasty glare, "I was cooler than you were."

"You're right about that," Taehyun nodded, "I liked to read a lot so the other kids made fun of me and I eventually stopped talking to others for a while."

"That sounds awful," Kai frowned.

"No," Taehyun smiled, "Fictional characters are way cooler than actual people."

"Well I'm glad you think that way," Kai started to walk to the door, "You can read while I'm gone."

Taehyun scrunched up his face and threw his phone at Kai, causing the younger to scream.

"I'm not picking that up!" Kai pouted.

"I don't want it anyways," Taehyun scowled and turned to lay on his stomach.

"Ok, well, I'm leaving now," Kai kicked Taehyun's phone to the corner of the room, "I'll see you around."

Taehyun mummered in agreement.

Kai placed his hand on the doorknob and was about to leave but stopped himself, "Actually Taehyun-"

"You're still here?" the older asked into his pillow.

"I actually wanted to ask you something," Kai rubbed the back of his neck, "It's kinda been bothering me."

Getting worried Taehyun sat back up and rested his head in one hand, "Yeah, what's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong I was just curious," Kai let his eyes wander around the room, "Why did you want to flirt with Soobin?"

"Oh," Taehyun let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in, "It's not a big deal. While I was walking to school this morning I just thought about how close we were while we were training and it made me upset. I was thinking that if we had to do this flirting thing with each other it might help build our relationship back up and at the same time distract me from my feeling towards you know who. It be like a double whammy but obviously he doesn't want to do that kind of stuff with me. I don't like Soobin like that if that's what you were thinking."

"Hmm," Kai paused for a moment, "You still like Beomgyu even after what happened last night?"

"Yeah," Taehyun hung his head, "I don't know what's wrong with me."

"There's nothing wrong with you If it's how you feel well that's just how you feel," Kai tried reassuring his friend, "Maybe instead of sleeping or reuniting with you fictional friends while I'm gone you should try to fix one of those relationships."

"Which one?" Taehyun looked back up at him.

"Well I think since he's out lea-" Kai was interrupted by a cheerful melody, getting both of the boys' attention. The younger realized it was Taehyun's phone and grabbed it and turned it to silent, "I still don't think he's right for you, but you should try patching things up with Beomgyu again." Kai threw the phone on the older's bed, "I really gotta go now, see ya later."

"Bye Kai," Taehyun waved as the younger left the room. Once Kai was gone he reached across his bed to check his phone to see he had a missed call from Beomgyu.

-

"You're literally the worst," Yeonjun growled.

"I know. I know. I know," Soobin quickly tapped his foot as he hid his face behind a stuffed bunny, "At least I'm telling you wht happened. I want help."

Yeonjun rubbed his temples as if he had a headache, "Why would you think contacting her would be a good idea?"

"I-I was scared. This rumor has caused so many problems and I don't want all of our hard work to go to waste," he explained.

"So to prevent those two from dating you try to sabotage our whole show?" Yeonjun raised his voice.

"I'm sorry," Soobin tightened his grip on the plush, "I, uh, just, I just thought since she started it she could be the one to fix it."

"That kind of mindset is for five year olds," Yeonjun glared at him, "We're all grown men, well at least most of us are. We can fix our own problems."

"I know and I'm sorry. I don't know how many times I have to say it," Soobin furrowed his brows.

"You can stop saying it once you stop her from showing up," Yeonjun crossed his arms, "I'm done babying you Soobin. Stop letting your fears control you."

"But I've already tried telling her to not come," the younger bit his lip, "She doesn't want to listen to me anymore."

"I just don't understand," Yeonjun huffed, "Doing this will only hurt Jennie's career right? And you already cut off the deal by returning those pictures of her stealing right? It's like it's just a game for her at this point. She's only doing it for fun."

Soobin slowly nodded, "Please Yeonjun, what do I do?"

"Well I'll have to think about it," Yeonjun sighed, "We can't prevent her from stealing a headset. I'd say we can have someone guard the room where they're stored but with her history of stealing and manipulation I don't think it would do any good. For now you should go tell the sound crew the whole situation and hopefully they'll make sure no other mics are connected to the sound system, but I'll let you know if I can think of anything better."

"Thank you," Soobin lowered his gaze, "When should I tell them?"

"Now," Yeonjun widened his eyes, "There's no reason to wait."

"Ok," Soobin got up, gently placing the bunny down on his bed, and slipped on a pair of slides. Right when Soobin was about to open the door he heard knocking. He looked between Yeonjun and the door before opening it to be faced with another boy, "Kai?"

"Oh, hey Soobin," Kai greeted, "I didn't think you would be here."

"It's my room," Soobin tilted his head.

"Yeah but I thought since you were our leader you'd be out doing, like leader stuff," the younger let himself in.

"That's what he's about to go do right now," Yeonjun joined the conversation.

"Yeah," Soobin agreed.

"Well have fun," Kai beamed.

Soobin pursed his lips together in a smile before leaving his room.

"That was weird," he chuckled to himself.

Soobin walked down the hallway but with every step he took he felt the knot in his stomach grow bigger and bigger. The whole production team is going to hate him. Does he really have to tell the whole story. Soobin doesn't even know where to begin. His thoughts continued to gnaw at him as the worst case scenarios played through his head.

"Where are you going?"

The familiar voice made him jumped and he looked up to see Taehyun.

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you," the younger tried to hold back his laughter.

"It's fine," Soobin cracked a smile at his own actions.

"Where are you going?" Taehyun repeated.

"Umm," Soobin rubbed the back of his neck, "I have to go talk to the sound crew about something important. How about you?"

"Well I missed Beomgyu's call earlier and I was going to suprise him at his dorm and talk some things over but," Taehyun laughed nervously, "I really wanted to talk to you too. Can I tag along?"

"I dunno," Soobin clicked his tongue, "I have to admit some pretty awful things and I don't want you to hate me."

Taehyun weakly smiled at him, "After some of the things you've said to me in this past week I think it's impossible for me to hate you."

Soobin tsked, "I'm really sorry."

"It's ok really," the younger pushed back his hair, "That kind of stuff doesn't bother me much anymore."

"Alright let's go," Soobin commanded before leading the way and Taehyun eagerly nodded. Soobin wasn't sure why, but having the younger by his side made him feel less anxious.
