《I Don't Like You - Beomgyu x Taehyun》II

Beomgyu, you're here," a smile formed on Jennie's glossy lips. Beomgyu nodded, still keeping his eyes on the stranger. Jennie noticed this and laughed putting her arm around the orange haired boy, "Don't worry about him. This is my cousin, Felix. His family lives in Australia and had to come here for a business trip and they asked me to watch him since he's not very fluent in Korean yet," she pouted her lips, "They didn't know about our date today so I hope you understand."
"H-hello," Felix mumbling, fiddling with his hands, his deep voice throwing Beomgyu off guard. Beomgyu was upset now that he couldn't spend time alone with his girlfriend, but he didn't want to seem selfish.
"It's fine," he lied, through a fake smile.
Jennie clapped her hands together, "Great! Just give me one second to set up." She took a blanket out of her bag and laid it out on the ground. Next, she took out three smaller bags all containing food, each labeled with a person's name. Lastly, she took out three bottles of alcohol and handed one to each of the boys. Beomgyu tried his best to not cringe. He had only drank once prior to this and let's just say it wasn't a very good experience. "Come sit down," Jennie gestured to an empty spot directly across from her and he did as he was told. "I hope you like the food," she giggles nervously, "It took me a few tries to get it just right." Beomgyu took the container out of his bag revealing a small platter of different fruits sorted by color.
"It's so cute," a small smile appearing on his face, "Almost as cute as you."
Jennie blushed and smacked his forehead, "Shut up, don't compare me to fruit!" Beomgyu laughed as he rubbed his head while Felix kept staring at the two of them. Beomgyu wasn't sure why but the other boy made him feel uncomfortable. Jennie reached into her bag and pulled out a bottle opener.
"So," she raised an eyebrow, breaking the silence, "have you ever drank before?"
Beomgyu nodded, "Only once."
Jennie opened her bottle and gasped, "Really? I didn't expect someone like you to drink."
"It was only once," Beomgyu whined,"Wait, what's that supposed to mean?" He opened his bottle and jumped at the sound it made.
Jennie giggles, "You just seem so innocent I didn't think you'd have the guts to drink before you turned 19."
"Only two more years and I'll be able to drink as much as I want to," he rolled his eyes and smiled.
They sat there and just stared at each other for a minute or so. It was Felix who broke the silence this time, "Are you going to eat your food or did she prepare all of this for nothing?" Beomgyu didn't like this guy's tone but he did his best to just shrug it off.
"Sorry," Beomgyu apologized, before taking a bite from his plate. Suddenly, he felt very dizzy. It seemed as if the world was suddenly moving very fast while he could only move in slow motion.

"Are you ok, Beomgyu?" Jennie tilted her head, noticing the paleness appearing on her boyfriend's face.
It took him a second to process what she had just asked him and he slowly nodded his head, "Yeah, sorry." Felix and Jennie glanced at each other and Beomgyu could of sworn he saw Jennie smirk, but he was probably just imagining things.
"So, Beomgyu," Jennie sighed, grabbing his hand, "How is Tomorrow by Together so popular?"
He paused for a second, "Why are you asking? Isn't your group popular as well?"
Jennie frowned letting go of his hand, "We were at first, but now? It feels like no one ever talks about us. It's like they got bored of us and moved onto someone new, like you guys."
"Oh," is all Beomgyu could say as he took another bite of his food, which only made him feel worse than before.
"Maybe you should do some kind of publicity stunt or scandal?" Felix suggested.
Jennie looked over in his direction, "Yeah, I was thinking about trying that."
Beomgyu furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, "Why would you do that? People are supposed to support you for your content, not your drama. Plus, that stuff usually backfires, doesn't it?"
"Cute," Jennie scowled, "You'll learn one day that it's not that easy."
'But I-"he tried to defend himself, but was quickly cut off.
"You know what Beomgyu, you seem really out of it today," Jennie stood up, "You should just go home and rest." She flashed him a small smile, but Beomgyu just felt hurt.
"I'm sorry," he slowly got up, keeping his gaze on the ground, feeling guilty.
"It's not your fault that you're feeling ill," she reassured him, "But before you leave can you come over here and help me pack all of this?" Beomgyu looked up and nodded but it was hard to walk. Every step felt like he was never going to hit the ground. Suddenly, Beomgyu stepped on Jennie's empty alcohol bottle causing him to topple over. Luckily, he was able to catch himself on his hands before he hit the ground. It wasn't until he saw a flash out of the corner of his eye he realized that he had landed on top of Felix.
Beomgyu gasped, "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" Felix didn't reply and just pushed off the younger boy. Beomgyu looked up noticing a big grin on Jennie's face."
"Why did you take a picture?" he asked, dusting the dirt off of his clothes.
She just shrugged,"I thought it was funny. Do you have a problem with that?"
Beomgyu felt his stomach drop at the sudden attitude change, "No I just-"
"Just go home," Jennie said bluntly, "You're a mess. Felix will just help me pick up."
"But I-"
"Go!" she raised her voice.
Beomgyu stood up and nodded, refusing to make eye contact with her, and stumbled back to the direction of his dorm.

After making sure Beomgyu was out of sight, Jennie sighed, "Thank you for coming Felix. I owe you big time."

"Yeah, you do," he scratched the back of his neck, "but I still don't get how your plan is going to work. I mean yeah, you drugged him but he didn't lay a hand on you. How are you going to convince people he showed up to your date on drugs and got violent towards you?"
"The idol world is competitive and you have to be willing to steep low if you want to be successful. Plus," Jennie tightened her grip on her phone, "I think I have an even better idea."
Felix looked back at the direction Beomgyu went, "Poor kid. His career just started and you're already plotting to put an end to it." Jennie elbowed Felix's side and he let out a cry of pain.
"Don't make me out to be the bad guy!" she hissed, "I'm not trying to end his career. I'm trying to revive mine."
Felix rubbed his side and scoffed, "By making people think your date was so terrible that they'll pity you?"
Jennie whined, "I'm desperate, ok!" She sighed and picked up the empty bottle off the ground, "Look, I know it's wrong and I feel terrible for doing this to him but without my career, I have nothing. I can't go back to a life like that!" Jennie threw the bottle to the ground out of frusturation, causing it to shatter, "It's not going to hurt him that much. I'm just going to leak this picture and say he was using me to hide the fact he's gay. There's other gay idols and they're doing just fine." Felix sighed and bent down to pick up any large peices of glass he could see. Jennie got down to help but accidently cut her finger. Jennie gasped and grabbed a napkin out of her bag and wrapped it around her wound to subdue the bleeding. Jennie looked at Felix, who had a concerned look on his face. "Everything is going to work out just fine."

Beomgyu's alarm echoed throughout his room. He wished he could forget about everything and go back to bed but he knew that wasn't an option. Beomgyu felt really bad about last night and wanted to make it up to Jennie somehow. He made sure his alarm was set an hour earlier than usual to give him enough time to make himself look presentable and run to the store to pick out a gift. He was considering chocolate, stereotypical and cheap, but still really sweet. He rolled out of bed and whimpered at the sharp pain in his head.
Wasting no time, he headed towards the bathroom. Luckily, he was able to afford a dorm room all to himself so he didn't have to wait on anyone. Deciding to try a cuter look today, he found his curler. He didn't want super curly hair but still wanted some shape. After contemplating for a minute, he settled to give himself soft, wavy curls. Next was the makeup. He didn't want to do anything extreme so Beomgyu decided on a very light and natural look. He found his favorite pair of light brown contacts and put them in. Satisified by his appearance, he headed to his closet and pulled out a light green hoodie, paired along with a simple pair of blue jeans. After getting dressed, Beomgyu pulled out his phone to check the time. He noticied he had a few notifications from all of his social media pages. It was odd but he ignored them because he didn't have the time to worry about it now. With only an hour left before class started, he slipped on his shoes and a bag and headed out.
Beomgyu hopped on his bike and headed to the nearest convience store. It was located on the outskirts of BHA's campus and often got recognized whenever he went there. He silently prayed that it would be empty this morning as he ran in and headed straight towards the candy isle. He frantically looked up and down the section but sighed defeatedly when he didn't see any chocolate. "How do you not have any chocolate at all?" he complained to himself. He grabbed the next best thing he could think of... gummy bears. They have been Beomgyu's favorite candy for the longest time. He headed to the freezer section next and grabbed a bottle of coffee because he was going to need it to make it through the day. After checking the time on his phone again, he whined, "There's not enough time to eat breakfast today." Beomgyu quickly headed to the counter where a girl about his age with a pixie cut worked.
"Did you find everything you needed?" she asked, scanning the items.
"Actually, you guys didn't have any chocolate out," Beomgyu chuckled, "It was really strange, but I found something else to replace it."
The girl looked up and gasped, "You're that guy who's trending right now!"
"Trending?" Beomgyu smiled, "Wow, was our performance really that good? If you're a fan maybe you could come meet the other members sometime. We would like to meet as many of our fans as possible because we wouldn't be where we are without you guys."
The employee just laughed, "I'll pass. I wouldn't want to intrude on the freaky things you guys do."
Beomgyu was caught off guard and looked at the girl with disgust, "Excuse me?"
"I mean, I'm not a boy," the girl bit her lip, "I doubt you'd want a girl there. It doesn't really seem like your thing."
Beomgyu caught on to what the girl was implying and quickly got irritated at her mocking tone. All he wanted was his candy and coffee. "Look," he breathed, trying to calm himself down, "I have no idea what you're talking about." He put the money down on the counter and grabbed his things, "I don't have time for this, I have to go meet someone soon." Without waiting for his change or a response, he walked out of the store and stuffed his new belongings into his bag. He sighed out of annoyance. Today is going to be a good day. Today is all about him and Jennie and he isn't going to let some random stranger ruin that. With about a half hour left Beomgyu hopped on his bike and headed towards the academy.

Glitched! Uplift Arc
[Winner of the April 22 Royal Road Writathon Challenge] In 2202 the System reached Earth. Thankfully it had learnt from previous uplifts and implemented an introductory arc to acclimatise the new participants rather than chucking them in the deep end. The previous practice of just dumping unsuspecting beings into a System designed for the growth of the multiverse had led to catastrophic and sub-optimal results. The return on investment was abysmal. That old trope was so over-cooked - after nearly extinguishing itself through negative returns new policy was required. That was 356 trillion local years back. Now over 5600 successful uplifts had joined the ranks of the multiverse. But the System was always learning, always growing. Still there were glitches. Mostly minor. Mere irritants really. Sometimes even they were catalysts, triggering a fresh expansion. Soon the System would understand why. Our Earth was 7912th. - Ascend - Battle - Challenge - Dominate - Expand - Gro... - Glor... - Where’s the eff word? - Glitch... File corrupted. ---END SYN---
