《Mending the Battle Wounds (TodoBakuDeku)》Chapter 7

Izuku, Shoto and Kirishima were in the principal's office in a matter of minutes, all of them running.
"Jesus Kacchan, you were left alone for five minutes." Izuku said when he barged in. He saw the blond grumpily sitting in a chair in front of Nezu's desk. Nezu was in his chair and Aizawa was standing next to him.
"Midoriya, you can't just-" Aizawa tried to say, but was cut off by the small boy.
"Ah, but I just did." He said with a shrug, taking a seat in the chair next to Katsuki as Shoto and Kirishima entered the room, finally catching up to the green haired boy.
"Deku, just go before you get-" Katsuki was cut off by Izuku as well.
"Nope, you beat that kid up for me. You aren't going down for this because then that would mean I owe you." Izuku said, tilting his head upside down over the edge of the chair so he could see Katsuki.
Katsuki shook his head, looking away. "You're real fucking crazy now, huh?" He asked, finding a small bit of amusement in Izuku's actions.
"I'm completely sane, I'm just more fun now." He explained with a lopsided, upside down smile.
"What does any of this have to do with you, Midoriya?" Nezu spoke up, throwing a quick glance at Shoto and Kirishima who were just standing in the back watching the events unfold.
"He beat up that guy because he... said something he shouldn't have." Izuku tried to explain, but he wasn't about to just out right saw that they said he killed his own mom.
Aizawa raised a brow and looked back and forth between the two boys. "What'd they say?" He pressed.
Izuku stayed quiet, not wanting to say it or hear it again. Aizawa saw that and turned his attention to Katsuki, hoping he'd shed some light on the situation.
Katsuki gritted his teeth, worried about Izuku's reaction when he explained. "They said Deku killed his mom." He said in a normal leveled voice, something pretty rare for Katsuki.
Aizawa couldn't mask his surprise at first, letting his eyes grow wide for only a second before he schooled his features again. "All of you, back to the dorms. Go." He said firmly.
All of the boys looked at him, confused for a second before they left, not wanting him to change his mind. Once they were gone, Nezu turned to Aizawa with a smile.
"A soft spot already?" He asked. He found it highly amusing how distant and cold Aizawa would act towards all his students, when in reality he cared more for them then anyone could possibly guess.
Aizawa just rolled his eyes and left the office, heading back to his classroom.
Izuku was heading back to the dorms with the other three boys. He was oddly happy with the outcome of their little meeting with the principal. If Katsuki would have gotten kicked out, Izuku would have owed him big time, but seeing as he didn't, the debt wasn't quite as large.

"So Kacchan, what'd you want?" Izuku asked as they walked into the common area of the dorms. The other students were still in school, besides Dabi and Toga, who were lounging around on the couches.
"Huh? What'd you mean nerd?" Katsuki asked, pushing himself to sit on the counter in the kitchen, where their little group seemed to have migrated.
"You beat up that kid for me, so what'd you want in return?" Izuku said slower this time. He was very adamant of not being in anyone's debt. After having his life indebted to a super villain, he had become more cautious.
Katsuki scrunched up his face at the question. "What? I don't want anything-"
Dabi spoke up, walking into the kitchen with Toga following closely behind. "Don't try and argue with him. He's got a thing about debts." He explained, grabbing a water bottle out of the fridge and walking over to Izuku.
"You good now kid?" He asked in a hushed voice, lightly nudging Izuku's arm. The shorter boy just nodded, not wanting to talk about his mini break down.
Dabi nodded his own head in acknowledgement and made his way to sit at the small table in the kitchen.
Toga swung her arm around Izuku's shoulder, leaning against him slightly. "So where did you guys all run off to?" She asked, her head slightly tilted to the side.
"Kacchan got in trouble for fighting with the guy who I wanted to maul, so I went with Todoroki to try and get him out of trouble." Izuku explained, also leaning some of his weight into his sister.
Toga narrowed her eyes at Katsuki. "Why would you do that?" She asked, not trusting the blond for a second. She knew what he had done to Izuku in middle school and she wasn't to fond of him.
Katsuki shot her a glare of his own. He didn't appreciate her suspicious tone. "Because what that guy said was fucked up and if Deku couldn't knock some sense into him, then I would." He said, adding a shrug at the end.
"What a hero." Izuku said sarcastically. He yawned as he turned towards Toga and wrapped his arms around her neck.
"Izuku, don't you dare." She said warningly.
Two seconds later Izuku's entire body weight was placed on Toga as he went completely limp. She groaned, not being able to hold up his mass. "God damn it, why're you like this?" She whined as she felt herself falling to the floor.
Just as she went down, Izuku let go of her neck and stood on his own feet. "Because it's funny." He said in between laughs as he held a hand out to help her up.
"My lack of strength is not funny." She complained, now standing and brushing off the dirt from her clothes. Since she had been back for a while, she was back in her typical outfit of a sweater and skirt.
"It's a little funny." Dabi chimed in from the table.

Kirishima leaned over to Katsuki and, tried, to whisper to him. "It's weird seeing them act like normal teenagers." Of course it was Kirishima and he hadn't talked nearly as quiet as he had hoped to.
Izuku fully laughed at the statement. "I'm sorry we don't live up to your evil genius expectations. We really are just normal teens. A bit on the fucked up side, but relatively normal. I guess." He said, hoping up on the counter next to Katsuki, but keeping a good few feet between them.
Katsuki softly smiled to himself, but it was gone before anyone could notice. It was progress.
Toga joined in. "Oh yeah, take Dabi for example. Get rid of all the daddy issues and suddenly he's just a regular emo." She said while ruffling his hair.
He scowled and swatted her hand away. "I'm not emo! Jesus Chirst, how many times do I have to repeat that?" He asked, trying to fix his hair now that Toga had made it messier than usual.
"Stop dying your hair black and get rid of the piercings and maybe I'll consider it." Toga said with a shrug.
"What color do you suggest then?" Dabi asked, getting agitated at his siblings attacking him especially since Shigaraki wasn't there to bite back. Izuku and Toga didn't listen to Dabi, but they would generally shut up if Shigaraki snapped at them.
Izuku cast his glance over at Shoto, more accurately at the red hair on his left side. "I like your natural color." He said, returning his eyes to Dabi who was sporting a glare at the shorter boy. "What?" Izuku asked, holding his hands up.
"Not gonna happen, try again next year." Dabi shot, directing scowl at Shoto before returning it to the table.
"Jeez, what'd Todoroki do?" Kirishima asked. He hadn't been in the nurse's office on Monday morning, so he didn't have a clue about Dabi's heritage.
Dabi abruptly stood up and stormed out of the kitchen, while everyone just watched him go in faint shock. The heard him go out the front doors of the building, just as the rest of the students seemed to flow into the common area, letting the five other kids know that school was done for the day.
Shigaraki walked into the kitchen, Twice right behind him. "What'd you do to my boyfriend?" He asked. His tone was clearly annoyed as he looked over the teens sitting in the kitchen where Dabi had just marched out of.
"Why're you in our dorms?" Todoroki asked, not in a harsh way, just with vague curiosity.
Shirgarak spared him a quick look. "Izuku, Himiko and Dabi never turned up at lunch and after Dabi didn't come back to class. I had a hunch you'd all be here." He said with a shrug. "Now, what'd you do to him?"
"I said I liked his hair." Izuku said simply.
Shigaraki narrowed his eyes in suspicion. "And that made him mad, why?"
"His natural hair."
Shigaraki let his head fall as he groaned. "Izuku." His voice was strained as he turned over his shoulder and walked right out of the kitchen.
Izuku had dropped his gaze to the floor in shame. It wasn't as if he was trying to upset Dabi. He was actually trying to help. He wanted Dabi to know that no matter what he thinks of his past self, not every part of 'Touya' was bad. "I'm sorry!" He called after, hoping that it would count for something. He knew he'd have to make it up to Dabi later.
"You should be!" Shigaraki yelled back, already out the front door.
The room was silent afterwards, only the sound of the other teens returning from school could be heard. Toga nervously looked over at the living room, fiddling with the sleeves of her sweater. "Um, Izu, I'm going- I'm just gonna go." She said, looking over at Izuku to make sure that he'd be okay without her.
He nodded, understanding her unease around all the other people that suddenly flooded into the space.
"Can... can someone explain what Todoroki did now?" Kirishima asked once she left.
Katsuki smacked him in the back of the head.
"Ow dude! What was that for?" Kirishima asked, rubbing his head.
"Take the hint shitty hair." He grumbled.
Shoto had started to mess with his own fingers, finding it more interesting that the conversation at hand. He knew what Dabi's natural hair color was. It was the same shade of red as his left side.
Izuku snorted at Katsuki's nickname for Kirishima. "You know you're hair is really similar to his, right?" He asked, trying to lessen the tension in the room.
Kirishima's smile immediately took over his face. He nearly jumped at Izuku like an excited puppy. "That's what I said last year! Listen to him Bakugou, he thinks it's the same to!" He said, nudging his friend.
Katsuki rolled his eyes, slightly upset that Izuku appeared to be taking Kirishima's side. At the same time, he was also relieved that what happened with Dabi didn't seem to affect him too much.
"I didn't say it was the same, I said it was similar." He corrected. "Yours is more directed up, into like a point, ya know?" He said, pointing at Kirishima's hair. "And Kacchan's is... well it's like an explosion, going out in all different directions."
"So ha! It's still not shitty." Kirishima said, smirking at Katsuki.
"No, it still is. Kacchan's is just slightly less shitty." Izuku said, crossing his arms and smirking while Kirishima's face fell.
"Ha, nerds on my side." Katsuki said. Then he cocked his head to the side. "Wait, you just called my hair shitty!"
"That'd be my cue to leave. Coming babysitter?" Izuku asked, hopping down from the counter and grabbing Shoto's wrist as he ran out of the kitchen.
"Deku!"
