《Just for the Summer (TodoBakuDeku)》Chapter 5

Izuku's POV~
When I woke up the next morning, I was extremely warm, like I was laying on a heated blanket and I had one on top of me. I was comfortable and didn't want to move.
I blinked my eyes open, taking in my surroundings. I looked up and saw I was laying on Todoroki's chest while he was casually scroll through his phone. I looked behind me and saw that Kacchan was passed out on my back.
It took a minute for all of it to register in my head.
When it finally did, I tensed up and my eyes went as wide as saucers. I didn't want to move, in fear that I'd wake Kacchan and he'd lash out, but I didn't want to just stay there, sandwiched between him and Todoroki.
Okay that was a lie, I wouldn't mind staying there, but I was beyond embarrassed and confused as to how I got there in the first place.
Todoroki seemed to finally realize that I was awake and looked away from his phone. "Oh, you're up." He said.
Thank you captain obvious.
"Yeah, how long have you been up?" I asked him, keeping my voice low so that Kacchan wouldn't wake up. Partly for my safety and partly because I knew he needed the sleep.
"A while." He said vaguely.
"Why didn't you wake us up? We could like, get off you then. Wait, how'd we even get in this position? I though I fell asleep in the middle of the couch. When did-"
I felt Kacchan shift on my back, shutting me up instantly. "Fuck nerd, it's too early for your mumbling." He groaned.
I thought for sure I was dead meat. I figured he'd just blow me up and that would be that. Instead, he moved his head slightly, wrapped an arm around my lower back, and went back to sleep.

What. the. fuck?
I looked up at Todoroki, hoping he had an answer to any of my millions of questions.
"I didn't wake you guys up because he needed sleep and it wasn't like I was uncomfortable or anything. You fell asleep sitting up and ended up falling to the side and landing on me. You just kind of curled up and kept sleeping, so I just left you. Bakugou and I ended up staying up for a few more hours until he passed out from exhaustion and he wrapped himself around you. I fell asleep shortly after that." He explained, shift his arm to get more comfortable under me.
I nodded as I processed everything he'd just said. I looked back at the passed out blonde on my back. "Why do you think he's just.. not killing me right now?" I asked him in a hushed voice.
Todoroki attempted to shrug, but because of our position, he couldn't really move his shoulders. "My best guess is that this was the first night of decent sleep he's gotten in a while." He said.
I thought about his answer, but it only brought to mind another question. "Why can't he sleep?" I asked. It was more of a rhetorical question, but Todoroki still offered an answer.
"Could be anything from insomnia to nightmares. He's kind of had a rough high school career so far. I can't imagine he could be kidnapped and just walk away with no mental scars." He said, looking past me, at Kacchan.
My neck was starting to hurt from holding my head up, off Todoroki's chest. I figured I wouldn't be going anywhere soon, so I just laid it down again. My ear was to his chest and I could hear his steady heart beat.

"He can't keep this up. He needs to actually sleep." I mumbled.
"I know." Todoroki said back.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, focusing on his heart beat. I slowly slipped back into unconsciousness.
The next time I woke up, was an hour or two later. I was still on Todoroki's chest, but he was sitting up more now and watching tv. Kacchan was awake to, sitting where he was last night, and eating a bowl of cereal.
"Good morning again." Todoroki said, once he saw that I was up.
I drowsily smiled at him and sat up. I moved back to my spot in the center of the couch. "Morning nerd." Kacchan mumbled in between bites of his food.
"Good morning guys. What time is it?" I asked, trying to rub the sleep from my eyes.
"Like twelve." Kacchan responded, still focused on whatever show was on the tv.
My eyes widened at his answer. "Are you serious?" I asked, look back at Todoroki for confirmation. He nodded his head. "I don't think I've ever slept that late." I said to myself.
"Well, you did seem pretty comfortable." Todoroki offered, sitting up and stretching out his back.
My face heated up at his comment. "In my defense, I had nothing better to do other than go back to sleep. I couldn't really move." I said, glancing back at Kacchan.
He stopped eating and looked over at me. "You're the one that said you wanted to help me. Already going back on the offer?" He shot back.
Did he just admit that he was accepting my help? In the form of cuddling?
"W-what? No! I'm just saying that I couldn't get up, so I went back to sleep." I said, holding my hands up.
"Calm down Deku, I'm messing with you." He said, rolling his eyes and going back to his show.
"Yeah, I knew that." I said unconvincingly.
"Sure Deku." Kacchan said.
He finished his cereal and stood up, going to the kitchen. When he came back out, he walked over to the couch and looked at Todoroki and I with his arms crossed. "I'm gonna go train and I need someone to beat the shit out of. Volunteers?"
At least he was honest?
"U-um, I'll spar with you if you want?" I offered hesitantly.
He huffed, "Good enough. Be at the track in fifteen minutes then." He said before walking off.
I groaned. I didn't really want to train so soon after waking up, but I was stuck now.
"C'mon, I'll go with you guys." Todoroki said, getting up and offering me a hand.
I took it and he pulled me to my feet. "Oh, do you want to spar to?" I asked him.
"No, I'm just going to make sure you don't tear each other apart." He said honestly.
I paled a little at the thought. I gulped before saying, "It's just sparing, what's the worst that could really happen?"

The Pugilist
Vincent Roy Salazar has never been your common folk. He climbed any mountain he found in front of him. From a bright young student to an accomplished professor, his life can be described as a continuous race to the top of his chosen fields. Patriarch of a loving family, proud father of three already grown siblings, Roy realizes that his life is the perfect picture of what the average man strives for, and for that he is truly grateful. But happiness is a difficult-to-reach goal, and as he lies in a pool of his own blood, his fist cracked, a young lady crying while cradling his head, he remembers what really gave sense to his youth. Pure Unadulterated Violence The Pugilist wants to be a different take on isekai shenanigans. What would happen if instead of a moronic idiot, a depressed high schooler, or a wannabe hero the one to get his do-over is a fully grown man that has already seen what life has to offer in full? Someone who conformed himself to society, but has always craved something different? In a journey of self-discovery, academy building, god-slaying, and absolutely no harem we follow someone driven by logic, experience, and a smokey goal: to fuck shit up, have fun while doing so, and maybe resume his career as a professor for those strange, magic-wielding, unstable youths that seems to never get enough of his presence. Guys, a few notes, first of all, this is my first time writing long-form fiction. I have a background in psychology, and my main income comes from writing dreary financial articles on SEO blogs. But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.
