《Wanna Join a Band? (TodoBakuDeku)》Chapter 29

"I- I don't think I can do this." Izuku whispered to himself, sitting at the bar and watching Sero and Kaminari set up a few different instruments and lights.
"Fucking called it." Katsuki said, scaring Izuku and nearly making him jump out of his skin.
Shoto rolled his eyes at the blond, grabbing hold of Izuku's hand to try and calm the other's anxiety. "Don't worry about it, you know the songs, you're really good at them, and most people don't tend to focus on the bassist anyways." He pointed out.
"Yeah, they'll be too preoccupied gaping at Shoto and laughing at sparky making a fool of himself." Katsuki added. He really wanted Izuku to concur his stagefright, so he was willing to add encouragement.
He wanted him to be their fucking singer god damn it.
Obviously he just wants his boyfriend to get over his fear as well.
Izuku took in a shaky breath, exhaling a few seconds later. "What if I mess up?" He asked, turning to his two boyfriends.
"Improvise, you're a professional, I know you can." Katsuki said with a lazy shrug. Half of his live playing was improvised.
"Besides, Kaminari has a habit of screwing up at least once every gig, so it's not like I don't have experience covering slip ups." Shoto said, giving Izuku's hand another squeeze.
Izuku nodded, finally being able to calm himself a fraction. He could do this, he could totally do this. He had to do this, for Katsuki and Shoto. "So what's the order again? Just so I know it completely." He asked them, even though they had gone over the order a million times that night. Izuku could repeat it in his sleep, but he was nervous and just wanted to double check. Or triple. Or- nevermind.
"If we go over it anymore, you're just going to forget it for real." Katsuki said with an eye roll at the anxious green haired boy.
Izuku's face scrunched as he tried to understand how that would work, but before he could ask for an explanation, he was being dragged up to the stage. Apparently it was time to start.
"Oh my god, yas Midoriya! Slay you beautiful bitch!" Helix shouted from the counter. She usually had two bartenders working at a time, but Izuku was kind of preoccupied, so she was forced to actually work. With Kirishima.
Let's just say, she found out what he did and was seriously considering firing him, but currently she needed the extra help.

Izuku blushed profusely at his manager's words, just trying to ignore her and hoping that everyone else did too.
He took deep breaths as Shoto did a little bit of talking before their first song. He needed to close his eyes for a few seconds while starting, pretending that he was back in his recording room. Pretending that it was just him, no one else was listening.
The intro was just drums and guitar, and then he came in with Shoto singing.
"Mother, I don't wanna take my medicine
Twenty-four years, in the gutter again
I'm losing it, I'm losing it"
'Deep breaths Izuku, you're doing fine. Look at you, you haven't hurled yet. Gold star.' Izuku thought to himself, slightly smiling at the fact he hadn't completely panicked yet. It probably help that they were starting with one of Izuku's favorite songs.
Shoto totally hadn't planned that at all.
"Everybody's acting like they're all alright
I can barely get myself to sleep at night
I'm sick of it, yeah, I'm sick of it"
Izuku couldn't help it when he let his head nod forwards at the chorus. With the song picking up right there, he just couldn't physically help it.
"Yeah, they sent the tax man, I lost my job and
You got hooked on Oxycodone
They shut the lights off, they took the car and
I bought a sawed off shotgun"
It was a kind of depressing song, when you really read into the lyrics, but Izuku tended to ignore that and just jam out to it. It was a really good song.
He should probably ask who wrote it and why, just to be safe.
Once the first song was done, Izuku was smiling like a maniac. He was unbelievably proud of himself and was ready to keep going through the rest of the set. Actually being up there and playing, it wasn't as scary as he had thought it would be.
Izuku was able to play through the rest of the set, even feeling a tinge of disappointment when it was over. As soon as everyone was off stage and their instruments were put away, he lept into Shoto's arm, seeing as Katsuki was talking to Shinsou and Kaminari a little ways away.
"Shoto! I did it, I did it, I did it! I can't believe I did it! And I didn't mess up!" Izuku started rambling out. He was on an adrenaline high at the moment and felt like he could run a marathon.

The dual haired male smiled and chuckled a few times at Izuku's excitement. "Yeah you did, I'm really proud of you Izu. You did great." Shoto said, placing a kiss on Izuku's forehead, which did nothing to dim the boy's spirits.
Katsuki joined the two of them shortly after, nearly falling over when Izuku jumped from Shoto's arms into the blond's. "Kacchan, I did it! And you said I wouldn't, but I did! And I didn't even mess up or anything!" Izuku cheered happily, thoroughly enjoying the hug from the blond.
"Yeah, I was there, nerd." Katsuki responded with a playful eye roll. He hesitantly patted Izuku's fluffy green hair. "You did... decent."
Izuku pulled away and looked at Katsuki, fake sniffling. "Kacchan, that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me!" He wailed, giggling a little bit at the blond's expression.
"Oi! That's not true at all!" Katsuki argued with a huff, but didn't seem to be letting Izuku go anytime soon.
Shoto stood with a hand on his chin, looking thoughtful. "It... very well might be." He said, backing Izuku up. It's very rare for Katsuki to give someone a compliment, even someone he cared about deeply.
Katsuki scowled at the taller male. "Fucking half and half, I-"
"Oh, I pissed him off enough for nicknames when we're alone." Shoto said with a teasing smirk on his lips. Usually, when no one else was around, Katsuki dropped the nicknames and called Shoto and Izuku by their first names. Well, usually it was still Deku, but the green haired boy had requested it to stay like that.
Izuku had let go of Katsuki, laughing as he started a fight with Shoto. The two of them definitely bickered like an old married couple, it was a wonder no one knew about them before they started to tell their friends.
'They really do bicker like an old married couple though, is it weird that I find it endearing? I love the banter... Oh jeez, I think I just love them in general.' Izuku thought to himself, at least he thought he did, eyes widening slightly at the revelation.
They hadn't been dating long, so those three little words hadn't been brought up yet. The thought of not only loving one person, but two, hit Izuku like a freight train and he was surprised he was still standing.
Love, more often than not, led to pain and heartbreak.
Especially if it was one sided. What if they didn't feel the same way? What if they could never love someone else as much as they loved each other? What if Katsuki and Shoto decided that Izuku wasn't worth the effort anymore and just dropped him?
"You... what?"
Izuku's already wide eyes nearly bulged out of his head at the question from Shoto. He had been so sure he had kept his mouth shut this time. But of course, he was too stupid to pay enough attention.
He tried to form a coherent sentence, but he couldn't even formulate a thought, let alone words. He just stood there, looking scared to death, and gaping. "I- I didn't... I- How do-"
The poor boy was close to tears as he tore his gaze away from his two stunned boyfriends and broke into a sprint, around the bar and trying to get to the 'employees only' door.
Unlucky for him, this wasn't the first time Shoto had needed to hop the bar. He was in front of a terrified Izuku in seconds, and Katsuki was behind him, blocking him from running back the way he came.
Shoto held his hands up, as if he were trying to approach a wild animal. "Izu c'mon, why're you so scared?" He asked gently. He wasn't moving forwards at all, worried he'd send the boy into a panic attack.
A few tears had managed to escape Izuku's eyes as he stared at the dual haired boy he had just realized he had fallen in love with. "I- I just- I ruined everything, I know I did. I'm sorry." He whimpered.
Izuku let out a small gasp when arms wrapped around him from behind. He struggled for a few seconds until he realized it was Katsuki. The blond set his head on Izuku's shoulder, holding him tightly.
"You didn't ruin anything, you idiot." Katsuki said softly. The childish insult held no malice as he spoke.
Shoto finally moved forward, seeing as Izuku had calmed down a little in Katsuki's arms. He brought a hand up to Izuku's face, brushing away a few tears with his thumb. "We love you too, idiot." He said with a small smile.
Izuku's eyes were wide once again, "R-really?" He asked, his voice small.
"Of course we do, how the fuck could we not fall in love with someone like you?"

[Author's Thoughts] Dropped, obviously. Still, it's my first attempt at a novel and I do love what I did with it. Big step towards learning. Far in the past, there was a civilization much more advanced than the one of modern times. Evidence of that time remains, but it is all but shrouded in mystery as there remains no way to decipher it. Currently, normal individuals wage war with guns and smaller machinery, but those who can wield a higher power vary in their abilities. Scales, born upon humans, are a mystery in their origins but are the source of their abilities and their way towards advancement. Although normally powerless, humans have adapted to the scales and thus can connect with the power of the universe, much like the other races that inhabit its various corners. In one of these corners, there exists a human settlement where Lancing follows his father's footsteps to begin his own ascent to power. However, he finds he is far different from his gifted father, whose scales below his eyes were among the purest ever seen, reaching gem-like quality. Far from perfect, Lancing shows no desire to give up and ceaselessly moves forward to reach the peak of the universe. However, he begins to notice that the mysteries of the universe slowly begin to unravel in front of his eyes. To reach the heavens, Lancing must carve his own path.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
