《Wanna Join a Band? (TodoBakuDeku)》Chapter 20

Izuku could tell, just from looking at the two while they performed, that they hadn't made up. They didn't look at each other the whole set, which wasn't that damning of evidence, but how agitated they both looked was enough to tell Izuku that he, maybe, should have stayed behind and helped them....
Beside that, Shoto just looked.... He looked lost. It wasn't something Izuku could say he had ever seen before. Shoto was a very self confident person. He always knew who he was and what he was doing, but tonight-
"They're pretty good, huh?" Someone at the bar asked Izuku, breaking him from his thoughts.
"Oh um, yeah." Izuku responded with a sheepish smile at the patron.
"You know, I used to date the drummer." The guy said in a smug tone.
Izuku's face morphed into one of confusion. Katsuki was the drummer and the only people Izuku had ever known him to date were Shoto and....
"Monoma?" He asked hesitantly.
"Aw, you do recognize me." The blond said with a smirk.
Izuku was now on high alert. He hadn't seen the guy since high school, but there last encounter was anything but pleasant. Of course, he could have changed since then, but from the way he had acted in their short, short conversation, Izuku didn't have high hopes.
"What're you doing here?" He asked, trying to sound purely curious. They were a little ways away from where their old high school was, so it was strange that he was there.
"Just moved to the city." Monoma answered vaguely, taking a drink from his glass as he eyed the band on stage.
"Something in particular make you choose here?" Izuku pressed, confused and a little frightened that he had just randomly showed up after so many years.
Not taking his eyes off the band, or rather the drummer, Monoma answered. "Not something, but someone."
'Oh great, he's back for Kacchan, because that would end up in a huge mess or anything.' Izuku thought to himself.
At least that's what he meant to do.
"Still using that stupid nickname?" Monoma asked, scaring the absolute crap out of Izuku and making him jump.

He dropped the glass he was holding, which resulted in a small crash behind the bar. It attracted the attention of other people at the bar, which drew the attention of the band on stage. They didn't stop playing, but they all wore confused expression while looking at Izuku.
But Katsuki saw the blond sitting in front of him.
Izuku noticed that the drums suddenly got louder as he looked at Katsuki. The drummer was glaring daggers at Monoma and Izuku had a feeling once their set was over, it wouldn't end well.
They were on the last song now, and it was nearly done. Izuku was worriedly staring at Katsuki, afraid of what he'd do after the song.
"You told him, didn't you?" Monoma asked, catching the glare from Katsuki.
"H-huh?" Izuku stuttered from his nerves.
"You told Katsuki I punched you, right?" Monoma asked, directing his eyes to the nearly shaking bartender.
"Um, m-maybe?"
The blond sighed as he took another drink. "That complicates things you know." He said.
Izuku looked at him in bewilderment. "I'm sorry that you punching me in the face complicates you trying to get back with your ex." He snapped back. Shoto, Katsuki and Kirishima were only a few feet away, so he realized he didn't really have to much to be afraid of. Not only that, but he knew Shinsou was sitting at one of the tables a little ways away, there to see his boyfriend.
"You were the one that was trying to get with my boyfriend." Monoma sneered back, his 'pleasant' façade abandoned.
"I was trying to fix our friendship, you dick." Izuku said right back, not in the mood to deal with a petty ex. It wasn't even his ex!
"Do you think I'm fucking stupid or something? I know what you were trying to do and it was anything but innocent." Monoma continued to argue, his hands balled into fists on the top of the bar.
"I just wanted my best friend back! You were the crazy, jealous, controlling one that could stand to have their boyfriend so much as look at another guy!" Izuku fought.

He shut up when Monoma reached across the bar, grabbing his shirt and pulling forward. Izuku ended up slamming his hips into the edge of the bar from the force. It hurt like hell and he couldn't keep the wince off his face.
"We'd still be together if you just would have left him the fuck alone!" Monoma growled in his face. "It's all your fault! You just had to weasel your way into places you didn't fucking belong. He didn't want to be with you, he doesn't even like you for fuck sakes! He used to spend hours just ranting about how much he hated you and your stupid fucking mumbling."
The two were so focused on each other, they didn't notice that the music had stopped. The didn't notice until Monoma was suddenly ripped away from Izuku by Katsuki and Shoto jumped the bar and kneeled next to the shaken up male who had fallen after suddenly losing what was holding him up.
"Are you okay?" Shoto asked him softly, grabbing both sides of his face and inspecting him for injuries.
"Yeah, I'm fine, but-" Izuku was cut off by a thud and multiple 'oo's.
He snapped his head up and saw that Katsuki and punched Monoma right in the face and looked like he was going to swing again.
"Kacchan! Stop!" Izuku called, brushing Shoto off and reaching across the bar to grab the blond's arm.
"Deku, let me go." Katsuki said slowly as he tried to control his temper and not lash out at the innocent green haired male.
"No, Kacchan. You hit him once, that's enough." Izuku said, standing firm and not letting Katsuki go.
"Ha, he still calls you worthless? Told you he fucking hates you." Monoma said with a smug grin as he stood up straight and wiped the blood from his nose.
Katsuki pushed Izuku off him, making the smaller male stumble a little and Shoto had to catch him before he could fall. Seconds later, Katsuki was throwing another punch. And another. And another.
"Shit." Shoto whispered, letting go of Izuku and hopping over the bar again to pull Katsuki off his ex.
"Kat! Kat, stop, you're gonna kill him!" Shoto yelled as he tried to pull his fuming boyfriend off the unconscious blond.
"Good." Katsuki grunted out, not stopping.
"Katsuki fucking Bakugou, get off of him." Shoto strained as he tried to grab his arms and pull him off. "You're scaring the shit out of Izuku." He added.
Katsuki was off him, being held back by Shoto and Kirishima. Shinsou had made his way over, but didn't seem to keen on trying to hold Katsuki back.
Instead, he knelt next to the unconscious blond on the ground, checking his pulse. "He's still breathing, might have a concussion, but I'm sure he'll be fine." He said with a shrug.
So he knew what Monoma did to Izuku and didn't seem to like the blond. Oh well.
Izuku had stepped out from behind the bar and glared at his friend. "Shinsou, call an ambulance." He instructed.
When the purple haired male made no move to call, Izuku stepped towards him. Shinsou held his hands up in surrender and grabbed his phone out, dialing the emergency number.
Katsuki had calmed down and pulled his arms away from the two guys hold him back, but he didn't move to continue his beating. He just stood there looked agitated as hell.
And then Izuku smacked him across the face. "Are you fucking crazy?!" He shouted at him.
"I'd stay out of this if I were you." Shinsou instructed Shoto and Kirishima, both of which backed off.
"You could have killed him! He could be seriously injured now!" Izuku shouted at him, but take note that no one seemed to be in a hurry to help him out. They all just left him laying passed out on the floor.
"You could go to jail, you absolute moron!" Izuku hissed, crossing his arms and glaring daggers at the blond, waiting to see what he'd say in retaliation.
"Worth it."

Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.
