Tatiana was the only child of Christian III of Denmark and his wife Dorothea of Saxe-Lauenburg, King and Queen consort of Denmark and Norway. The King had been eagerly waiting to learn the sex of his first child as this baby could be the heir to his throne. She wasn't male though and that was a great disappointment to both of her parents. The King fatefully passed away just a week later and, ultimately, a one week old babe inherited the throne and the weight of two countries hanging over her head. Not even a year had passed until the plots on her life started so her mother immediately started negotiations with France, arranging a marriage between King Henry's first legitimate son. You see, the threats on Tatiana's life were signs of an uprising. A civil war in the middle of her country led by a very important Lord claiming that he was the rightful heir to the throne as he was the former King's cousin.
There were threats on Tatiana's reign for years and years and sometimes there were even people sent to poison her and assassination attempts but Tatiana was adamant about never leaving her country. When things got really bad, her mother would send her to France for a few months but the Queen always returned to her country.
