Her parents wanted her to marry a great Khal so before they both died, they sold her to Khal Bharbo's Khalassar for his son Drogo. She was eleven at the time and she never saw her parents again. When she turned thirteen, she became a "woman" so she was immediately married to the now Khal Drogo. They had their daughter when she was fifteen.
