Always thought she was human but she finds out that she's a Banshee in season 1 as she sees Kol one day in her room and figures out that she can see the dead (Turned to Vampire in Season 3 by Kol Mikaelson and lost all Banshee abilities as she was close to dear at the hands of Lucien Castle)

Verity has lived in Mystic Falls since she was born in 1992. She grew up in the Salvatore Boarding House with her mother, father and uncle. She had always been home schooled as her parents were too afraid of the towns supernatural problems. By age fourteen, both of her parents had died in completely mundane circumstances which forced her uncle to send her out to regular old high school. Before sending her, he clued her in on the town and family's secrets so she could be prepared. In 2013 (after season 4 of TVD), Verity moved away to New Orleans as she was following the Mikaelson's.

- Verity had studied everything she needed to know about the supernatural

- When Stefan and Damon showed up, they were deemed her cousins

- Verity had gotten extremely close with Kol at home (season 3 + 4 of TVD) and once he died, she had to get out of Mystic Falls. Klaus took her with him to New Orleans because he felt a kind of little sister care towards her

After the whole main storyline debacle, Verity was taken by one of Niklaus' many enemies. They thought that they'd get at Klaus by getting at a member of the Mikaelson family by getting at the pathetic human girl that one of them had fallen in love with. It had been less than 24 hours since she'd been taken and she just walked back into the Mikaelson house.

"Kol?" Verity called out, her body trembling and her hands shaking.
