She had just ran away from Greendale and was alone in the woods by Sweet Water River camping out

Alana was left on the front step of a hospital when she was only two days old and was broken up in the foster system. She didn't end up with very nice families so was always a troubled kid that ran away a lot. Her last home was in Greendale and she ran away a couple of weeks into her stay. She skipped town and ended up in Riverdale where she camped out in the woods.

- When she met Archie and they became friends, she offered her a place to stay

- She looks into her parents and eventually finds her brother. He lets her move in in season three
