"Me and momma love you"
"Ree answer please"
"No, no, no. I need you to fight"
"I love you"
"I'm sorry"
"I love you"
"Nighty Night"
Mabel woke up with a gasp, her eyes shooting open, already filled with tears.
She choked on her breath for a second before going into a full blown panic attack.
She looked around as the walls moved and blinked, closing in on her.
Tears ran down her face, but she was too far gone to even realise.
Her dark brown hair fell around her in ringlets as she shook her head violently, ragged breaths making her lungs burn.
She gathered her breath enough to shout for help, still holding herself with her arms.
"ADONIS"
———————
He lay in bed thinking.
He was only nine years old yet he had full contact with his wolf, already had his mate, and was was much more mature than others his age.
He half wished he wasn't an Alpha or a potential Lycan. Then he would be able to spend way more time with Mabel.
Ah Mabel, even the thought of her made him grin widely
His Mabel.
His arms ached to hug her and he was half tempted to go to her but knew she would not approve of him being awake after curfew.
Suddenly a terrible feeling washed over him as if he was pushed through a mirror of ice.
He shuddered and stood quickly. He began to pace his room. Something was wrong.
"ADONIS"
He didn't know how he heard it, or how he knew, but he did.
Mabel was in trouble and needed him.
He grabbed a pare of boxers and ran out of his bedroom door and then out of the front door of the pack house, which he was staying while his father came to terms with his mother's 'recent' death.
He's been coming to terms for a year now.
Once Adonis was outside he shifted into his rare red wolf and ran with his boxers in his jaws, going straight for the orphanage.
Adonis hasn't known he was a red wolf until Mabel had brought it up after they arrived back with Sebastian.
*flashback*
Sebastian was left in the care of beta female Bellamy just like Mabel was.
They had found out that she was indeed a child from Mabels original pack and had escaped miraculously, having been on a trip to Pack Jacobs with her father on official orders of the Alpha.
Sebastian had been just passing pack Timor when the group of rogues that had just abandoned Mabel on Timor territory spotted her and her father wearing their pack symbol, so they jumped them and killed Sebastians father in front of her before leaving her with the corpse.
She had panicked and tried to run back to Pack Jacobs by herself when she accidentally stumbled upon pack Timor and that's when Mabel sensed her and went to her rescue.
Adonis and Mabel now sat on the couch once again, but now they had Liam too, although he was passed out after watching Beauty and the Beast.
"Addie?" Mabel whispered.
"Yeah?" He replies twisting his head to be able to meet her eyes.

"Th-that rose ki-kin-Kinda loo-looks you, w-when w-wolf", she says, tripping over her words but smiling proudly after getting it out.
"What is it that reminds you of my wolf?" He asks, loving how excited she got when asked a question.
"R-red! O-oh re-red is m-my bestest col-colour" she nodded happily, reaching up to touch his hair on instinct after seeing how nice it looked.
He gaped a bit at her.
"My wolfs red?" He asked, disbelievingly.
"Mhm" she nodded, distracted now by his black hair.
*end of flashback*
From that day on he made sure no one ever saw him in his wolf form other than his Mabel and Sebastian.
His dad was still oblivious to the fact he was a red wolf. He knew his dad cared a lot about him but never really tried to get to know him, apart from training- then he was all ears, big since the Lunas death he had left it to the pack warriors. Adonis now trains everyday with the most lethal warriors. He was able to beat most of them- even at the tender age of nine.
Adonis charged through the woods, his wolf, who he now knew as Excors, sprinting as fast as he could.
He arrived at the orphanage in a mere two minutes and quickly shifted.
He had gotten used to shifting, so it didn't hurt as bad as it used to.
He quickly threw on his boxers and climbed the pipe leading up to his mates bedroom.
The window was open, it always was, Mabel gets too hot during the night and always leaves it a tiny bit ajar.
As he was entering he heard soft sobs coming from the room, along with panicked breathing and little whimpers.
He knew it was his mate.
He looked around the room once he got inside and spotted her on the bed, huddled up in the corner with her arms over her head.
His heart ached as he called for her.
"Mabel? Mabel, baby what's wrong?" He spoke softly.
Mabels head shot up at his voice and he was taken aback by her tear streaked face and red slightly swollen eyes.
"A-Addie", she called, his name muffled under her sobs.
She held her arms out as she had done too many times to count and he walked towards her.
Once he reached her he wrapped his arms around her small waist and she wrapped her outstretched arms around his neck.
She collapsed into him and sobbed into his chest, causing his heart to feel constricted.
He rubbed her back soothingly and whispered comforting words into her ear.
They had been mates for four years already, he knew how to calm her down when she dug too deep into her mind.
Every now and then her arms would go loose as if ready to let go, then tighten, making sure he was still there.
He lowered his head and kissed the top of her head affectionately.
She sighed in contentment and slowly calmed down.
Once he knew she was fully calm, he asked the question he'd been wanting to ask.
"What happened?" He inquired quietly.

She whined as though she had been waiting for him to ask.
"I-I had a-a nigh-nightmare", she whispered, her head never leaving his chest.
He stood up and placed her on the bed before walking over to her closet and picking some of his clothes from there, so he could wear something.
He always came to the orphanage with extra clothes for his space in the wardrobe in case something like this happens.
It happens quite often.
"The same?" He said, looking at her through dark eyelashes as he puts a a T-shirt on after putting his pants on.
"Y-yes, t-t-the same" she nods, ashamed that she can't let go of the past.
"Don't be ashamed Mabel, it is perfectly normal to have nightmares, I get them from time to time too" Adonis says, walking towards her and sitting next to her on her bed.
"I-it hurts. I l-listen to him eve-every nigh-night, b-but I can't see or t-touch hi-him. It hu-hurts" she says, feeling herself get worked up again.
Adonis let's out a breath and lays her down on her back, and lays next to her. She turns towards him and buries her head into his neck and climbs over him, so she is lying directly on top of him.
She relaxes and her breathing becomes steady.
He drapes his arms around her torso, keeping her secure on his chest.
"I have a couple of memories of my ma but there's one that's the most distinct." Adonis spoke suddenly.
Mabel looked up, resting her chin on his chest as she looked at him through her eyelashes.
"Yo-your m-mama?" Mabel asked. She had met the woman a couple times, Adonis had wanted her to meet his mother. The woman was asleep the whole time, the doctors promised she'd wake up, she never did.
"Mhm. I think I was two or three, she was smiling and laughing and I can remember her singing, a song I know very well now, 'Ferte in noctem animam meam Illustre stelle viam meam.
Aspectu illo glorior Dumb capit nox diem.
Cantate vitae canticum Sine dolore acte
Dicite eis quos amabam Numquam obliviscar'
I held onto that memory- and i still do, for a little while it was one of my only sources of happiness." He says, reciting the Latin words with great respect, his eyes glistening with sadness.
Mabel set her hand on his cheek.
"W-what doe-does it mea-mean?" She asks, her doe eyes looking up at him and she tilts her head.
"Take it, to my soul in the night
May the stars guide my way.
Dumb glory in the sight takes the day.
Sing a song of life made without regret.
Tell the ones, the ones I loved I never will forget" he whispers, eyes no longer on Mabel but on the ceiling.
Mabel suddenly recognise the song. It had played at the late Lunas funeral.
*flashback*
Her open casket lay at the top of the room.
Her face painted, made to look as though she was still alive and breathing, only sleeping.
Mabel sat with Sebastian on the second row, the first row strictly for the Alpha family and the Beta family. All of the Beta family was in attendance, Adonis being the only person from the Alpha family.
Adonis suddenly rose from his seat in front of Mabel, making every pair of eyes in the room shoot to the young Alpha.
He walked to Mabel and took her hand.
"Come with me please", he whispered to her.
She nodded although she had no idea where they were going.
She tapped Sebastians arm in reassurance of coming back and stood with Adonis by her side.
He then led her, hand in hand, to the casket and she followed. There wasn't anywhere she wouldn't follow him.
Adonis wore a black suit and Mabel wore a black dress.
They stood in front of the fallen Luna and simply stared for a second.
The woman wore a pure white dress with lace flowers at the neckline.
On her neck displayed proudly was her mates mark that was dyed silver, signifying the loss of a mate.
She had silver hair, as silver as Mabels eyes, and it was splayed out, flowers peeking out from underneath.
'She was truly beautiful', Mabel couldn't help but think.
Adonis lifted his hand not holding Mabels and placed it on his mother's cheek.
Mabel watched as her mates tears fell, leaving streaks down his face as he leaned in and kissed her forehead.
He rested his own forehead against the Lunas before whispering in her ear.
"Te amo mater mea" ().
He sighed and stood up fully, clutching his mates hand, before turning to face the crowd that had watched the interaction silently.
"hac nocte, et plangite ante exequias amissa vita, salutem et Lunam, et amicum, et soror, et mater sobrinus. Mater mea Amethyst Timor, fuit generosa et mulier fortis et Recordatus volo honorari, quod sic. Tibi gratias ago pro omnibus vobis venire: et vobis singulis et singulariter est amandus unaquaque undyingly, vivet, et erit ei ad moras amor, etsi non solum bonos." Adonis speaks in his mother tongue before a soft song turned on as rain patter was heard outside.
"Carry my soul into the night
May the stars guide my way.
I glory in the sight
As darkness takes the day.
Ferte in noctem animam meam
Illustre stelle viam meam.
Aspectu illo glorior
Dumb capit nox diem.
Cantate vitae canticum
Sine dolore acte
Dicite eis quos amabam
Numquam obliviscar
Sing a song, a song of life
Made without regret
Tell the ones, the ones I loved
I never will forget
I never will forget."
Adonis ,who was still holding Mabels hand, ran from the event.
Once by a big oak tree he collapsed onto the ground, as the rain pelted down on them.
Adonis let out an agonising cry as he fisted his hands and banged them into the grass.
Mabel gasped lightly before running forward and kneeling down next to him, feeling very small.
She slowly took him into her embrace and rested her head on his. Although it had been a horrible day and the rain wasn't making it any better, Adonis couldn't help but wish they could stay there, under the oak on a rainy day, in each other's embrace.
