《Whatever》Epilogue

"Okay. 1, 2, and push!"
My head fell back as I winced at the pain I was feeling which I hoped to the Moon Goddess, I would never- and I mean never- have to experience it ever again!
"The head is almost out! Push!"
"Argh!" I yelped as I stared at where the pain was coming from.
Four years had passed and I was blessed to see the beautiful thing known as, child birth. Beautiful thing my ass. "I swear, when I see Ryder, I'm gonna ring his neck!" Kya growled out as sweat covered her forehead and neck while she clenched my hand tightly as yelled out. I scoffed out as I tried to withstand the pain of how tight she was clenching my hand, "Oh, get in line!" The doctor who was assigned to Kya, Dr. Orkensyle, let out a reassuring smile to Kya and said, "The head is out. Now, one more push and I believe-"
"I'm here! Is she okay?" My eyes snapped up to the coward and both me and Kya growled at him with pure hatred. "May I?" I growled to Kya as I felt my eyes shift to black. Kya snarled, "With pleasure!" Just as soon as she let go of my, I pinned Ryder to the wall and snarled with my wolf's voice coming out, "If you do this to me when your second child is due, you will not live to see his 1st birthday. Do I make myself CLEAR?!" I slammed him on to the wall once more as he choked out, "Y-yes Luna." I let him go and he dropped to the ground while gasping for air as I stormed out of the E.R whilst hearing Kya shout at Ryder.
"Hey, how's she doing?" I turned to look and saw it was both Rose and Grey with both their faces laced with concern. I raised my hand up which was red all over and said sarcastically with a bitter smile, "What do you think?" I went passed them and took a seat on one of the couches. "Meow. What's got you to be so snarky?" Grey remarked and I shot him a dirty glare which made him shut his trap and subside in to silence.
A few months ago, I was thrilled about both Kya and Ryder having their first child. But after seeing how Kya reacted, I hope to the Moon Goddess, that I won't have to act that way. "I'm never going to have children." I groaned out as I ran my hands over my face. "Hey, shouldn't we discuss that together?" I looked up and my heart warmed at the sight of Carter with a smile playing on his lips. I continued, "What's to discuss? I'm the one who's going to be carrying him. I'm the one who's going to be feeding him, washing him and watching him. So, therefore I call the shots." I crossed my arms over my chest as I raised my chin with defiance. He leaned close to me and whispered out, "But then you won't be able to feel me inside you."

My eyes widened and all I could hear was Carter chuckling darkly.
Closing my eyes, I slapped the back of his head while answering, "And now you never will." I could practically feel Carter staring at me with pure shock and fear whilst I tried to rest my body after being at Kya's side since 2 A.M. this morning and currently it was 8 P.M.
Acknowledging a pregnant woman in labour, is hard work. I had just started to nod off when, "Guys," My eyes fluttered open and the sight before softened my heart as Ryder quietly stated while staring at the little guy in his arms, "Meet Jamie Rory Ryder. My son."
I gazed from afar as a small smile played at my lips just as Ryder called out to me softly, "Jesse, Kya's looking for you." Nodding, I went in to her private room which the doctors had moved her too and saw her pale face shining with happiness and exhaustion, "Hey K. How are you?" She let out a tired laugh as she said with her eyes amused, "Considering I almost broke your hand and told Ryder I will never have sex with him ever again, I'm actually doing pretty good. Did you see him?" Knowing who she meant, I nodded softly and said quietly, "He's beautiful." Kya let out a hearty laugh and said, "Don't lie." Chuckling, I said, "All right. He's small and frail and covered from head to toe with disgusting sticky stuff. I'm actually terrified to hold him!" Kya shook her head while laughing, "Well, that's just won't do considering he's your godson." I let out a laugh, "I'm warning you right now. I will be a terrible godmother." Kya shook her head as though she knew better.
Maybe.
"Would you call my idiot of a husband back in here? I want to hold my son." Kya pouted out with her arms crossing. Rolling my eyes, I went to the door and called, "Ryder! Time's up!" His face fell at the realization and he walked back to Kya's room to hand over Jamie to his mum. "Hold him carefully." Ryder explained which made Kya and me turn sharply towards him.
He didn't.
"Did you just tell me, how to hold my own son?" Kya's voice started to get louder by the minute and then she said, "Jess, could you hold Jamie for a second?" My eyes bulge out as I stammered, "Me? B-but?" Before I knew it, I was carrying Jamie in my arms and I'd bet my car, that I looked awkward carrying him.

I quickly left the room with Kya shouting at Ryder and Ryder pleading but I was already on my way to the waiting room. I had just went passed the doorframe when, "Surprise!" My head did a whiplash as I stared with wide eyes at my parents, friends and family standing in the waiting room with a 'Happy Birthday Jesse' banner being carried by both Rose and Grey.
I pursed my lips at the awkward silence before a cry broke it. "No, no. Shh... hey Jamie. It's okay. Shh." I cooed and decided to head somewhere else before throwing a dirty glare at the guilty party. As I walked down a hall, I tried to adjust my hold of Jamie as I went to take a seat. His crying was practically breaking my ear drums as I tried to shoosh him, "Shh....Shh. Jamie, it's okay. Aunt Jesse's here. Shh." I rocked him in my arms slightly the way I remember my mom rocking my baby cousins. Slowly, his crying subsided and Jamie went quiet. "There, that's a good boy. Shh..." I patted his bottom lightly and continued rocking him. After a while, Carter appeared at my side and murmured softly, "I didn't know you were good with kids." I replied more so to myself, "Neither did I." I had just turned my head to my left and what I saw, almost made me fall out of my seat.
Stupidly asking out, "What's that?" Carter replied simply, "A ring." Again asking a stupid question while I just stared at the emerald green gem surrounded by tiny diamonds with platinum band, "What for?" Carter grasp my hand in his as best he could and said, "Think of it as, a gift never opened." I furrowed my brows in confusion as I raised my head to meet his eyes and saw them already staring at me before showing a very familiar box he took out from his pocket. "Why do I k-"
"Know this box? Because, I gave this box to you on your 16th birthday, 4 years ago. But, you left it on your shelf to collect dust. So, I decided to give it to you once more. As to how I got it, well, I've been in your room plenty of-" I cut him off by saying, "Okay. That's enough out of you. So, it's a gift for mine or Jamie's birthday?" I nodded at my godson in my arms before continuing, "Because let me tell you. His fingers will not even fill it." Carter let out a chuckle before saying, "Nope, nope. Definitely for you. If you answer this question right for me." Intriguied, I said, "Okay. Shoot."
And what he said next, I could not believe.
"Would give me the honour, of being my wife Jesse?" he asked with his eyes full of hope. Blinking my eyes back a couple times, I swear I felt my heart drop at his question. Just as I was about to answer his question, I felt Jamie wriggle in my arms and looked down to see him babble in his language. Just looking at him, I already knew my answer as I looked back up to Carter and replied as he slipped on the ring on to my left ring finger as though he already knew my answer.
"I'd love to."

Lesser Evil
In a perfect world, an alcoholic, hedonistic, mentally abusive individual like Audry Forge would never coincide with his attempts to stop the extinction of life. But there is no perfect world. There is no other person. Only the lesser of evils. Participant of the Royal Road Writathon challenge - 55k words Author's Note: This is story has been the easiest to write in my time of writing. I thoroughly enjoy it! You may not understand the premise in the first few chapters but need not worry buddy, I've been working ahead. Things will start rolling! I hope you enjoy it. Give me feedback and make sure to share it around! Other Info: Normally I wouldn't put any warnings but this story will be going down a pretty dark path (based on irl experiences) fairly early on. There will not be any overtly sexual content this early but some themes are suggestive. There is profanity. There are references to drugs and alcohol. There are dramatic relationships that I'm trying to base off of real life. There is more of a focus on characters. There will be unpleasant scenes in regards to death, while others will be brushed over. There will also be a fair amount of pop culture references too! Give it a try. You might like my form of storytelling!
