《Whatever》Chapter 29

By friday, I've had the usual routine of sleeping at 3 in the morning and for some off reason, wake up at 7 in the morning. Obviously, this is my heats fault since I can't seem to stop wanting to take a cold shower. Right then, it was 10 in the morning and I was in my third cold shower. My skin was practically sparking up when it came in contact with the ice cold water. I closed my eyes and let my face be showered with cold water as I tried to ignore the chaos I had back home. After a while, I finally got out of the shower and was shivering from the cold air as it was raining that day. With just a t-shirt and sweatpants, I was headed to the living room to try and get some more sleep. My eyes were all red and had dark circles underneath them as I layed down on the bed with a heavy sigh. Within a few minutes, I was out like a light.
I sat upright with my heart pounding when I felt my skin start to feel like there were ants crawling over as sweat started to form on my forehead and neck. With my head pounding, I got up shakily from the couch and was making my way to the bathroom when I heard knocking.
What the?
I looked over my shoulder and stared at the door in confusion. I didn't tell anyone where I was headed nor did I even make any contact with my friends or family. I've been in complete isolation since Wednesday and there was no way I wouldn't remember not contacting anyone from outside this house.
Without thinking, I just trudged towards the door with a heavy heart as my head started to ache a lot more from the knocking that was becoming increasingly faster. I had just opened the door and mumbled out, "Who-" when I was pinned against the wall and lips were ravaging against mine hungrily; as though it would be the last time they would meet.

The odd thing about this was, I was kissing back just as desperate. The sparks that erupted time and time again, I thought I would have fallen on my knees if it weren't for the hand that was holding my wrists up and the other holding my waist securely. When those lips finally pulled away, I gasped as I felt my breathing had become heavier and faster.
But those lips didn't stop.
The continued their torture from my jawline, to below my ear, to leaving soft slow kisses on my neck that made me bite my lip to prevent any moans from escaping. I let out a soft moan when those lips connected to Carters' mark.
My eyes suddenly widened in realization as I panted out while struggling, "What the hell are you doing here Carter? Get off!" Carter let out a ferocious growl as he pulled away and glared at me with his blue eyes dark. He said to me while growling, "I have been searching for you since Wednesday. Worried that some other male," he bites out with his eyes turning black, "might've taken advantage of you and claimed you as theirs." Tightening his grip on my waist, he snarled out while sniffing my neck, "You are mine and mine alone!"
Hearing him say that, I honestly couldn't take it anymore.
Feeling my shoulders shake, I whispered out as tear after tear, streamed down my cheek, "You rejected me." Carter froze and he let go of my hands which just hanged loosely at my side as I tried not to sob out loud. Closing my eyes shut, I tried to stop the tears as best I could while clenching my jaw. My eyes opened slowly when I felt him lift my chin up and saw his eyes full of pain such as mine was. "I know I did. And I'm truly sorry I did what I did Jesse. I had no choice. It was the only way to keep you safe." he explained with his eyes still staring in to mine.

I bited out, "Keep me safe? Did you ever think what would happen to me without you there?" Carter swallowed and said in a quiet voice, "I still had to try Jess. I didn't want you to get hurt." I pushed him off of me roughly as I growled out with my eyes still watery, "You're the only one hurting me Carter. Not my cousins, not my friends. You. My rejected mate." I looked away as my heart started to pound hard against my rib cage with my hands clenched in to fists at my side. I stomped away from him.
I need a cold shower.
Locking the door behind me securely, I stripped and turned on the shower; making sure the cold water was on full blast. I stepped slowly in to the shower and let out a sigh of relief as my body temperature started to cool down. I closed my eyes to relish the feeling of ice cold water cooling my skin. I opened them and saw my body was starting to look like a raisin which made me reluctanly leave the shower. I put on big white bath-robe on and left the toilet to go make some chamomile tea. Carter was seated at the living room as I made my way to the kitchen to put the kettle on. I went back to my room to change in to a sweatshirt and leggings just as I heard the kettle whistle. Quickly making my way back to the kitchen, I lifted the kettle off from the stove with a dishcloth and poured myself a cup of hot water before putting in a tea bag of chamomile.
"Do you want tea?" I asked Carter with my back facing him. Carter replied, "Sure." I quickly poured him a cup of hot water and placed the chamomile tea bag. I placed the two cups of tea on a tray and padded towards the living room. After placing it on the desk, I took a seat on the armchair just as Carter pouted out, "Why aren't you sitting next to me?" I rolled my eyes as I said before blowing my cup of tea, "Do you want a repeat of just now?"
I had just taken a sip of my tea only to choke when he said, "I wouldn't mind." I coughed so violently that my eyes were watery by the time my coughing fit stop.
