《Whatever》Chapter 28

"What the fuck?!" a voice shouted so loud that I sat upright in my bed with my heart pounding so heart I thought my room was shaking for a moment. When I saw it was just Kya and Ryder, I let out a groan as I covered my right eye with my hand, "Not cool guys. If you needed me to be awake, you didn't have to shout." Then as I stared at them with my eyes still slightly hazy from all I could see was their faces filled with shock. Frustrated I asked, "What?"
Then they pointed to my left.
I don't know how I didn't feel the sparks but they were on fire right now, and so was my face. I harshly moved his arm from my waist and stomped downstairs. Okay, this guy is the definition of clingy! And it is so fucking annoying, it feels like I'm a child who has a parent that still makes her wear the child leash until she's nine. I went to the family room while Ryder and Kya went in the kitchen to give me some space.
I paced in the family room as the stress of dealing with him and the threats started to get to me and I was already at my limit. I let out a groan as I sat down and rubbed my face roughly to wonder why, for the love of the moon goddess, was my life so complicated now.
I could smell him even before he spoke as I snarled out, "Just leave Carter!" I growled his name and prolonged it as I felt my nails elongate and the tips of my canines were poking out from beneath my upper lip as I glared at him with hatred. He shut his mouth and left me with my blood boiling with rage.

Realizing what I needed to do, I went upstairs to my room and stuffed clothes, earpiece, phone, undergarments and other in to a duffel bag. After that, I grabbed a pair of keys that was hanging on a ring placed in my drawer. I quickly made my way to the kitchen and said in a quiet voice as I tried to calm down, "I'll be gone for a few days Kya." Then just as Ryder was about to say something to me, I was already out the door and heading to my Audi.
Dad taught me how to drive a few times and as long as I followed the law, I wouldn't get a ticket for underage driving. I dumped my duffel bag at the back and placed my keys in to the ignition and the engine purred to life. Shifting the gear to 'D', I droved smoothly out from the garage and out in to the open road, knowing just exactly where I needed to go to get away from all the nuisances Carter had caused.
Maybe now he'll get it through his head.
After an hour and a half of driving past my hometown and now only seeing the forest as far as the eye could see, I reached a small bungalow which was wooden walls and a red roof. After I parked my car, I took a deep breath before grabbing my duffel bag and heading out of the car and locking it. I took out my phone from my bag and texted my cousins and Kya that I'm fine, that I needed to get away for a while and that my phone would be switched off for the duration of how long I would be gone. I quickly turned it off and unlocked the door of the house with a spare key I had and let the door creak open as I entered my granddads' old hideaway.

The living room was just to left with the kitchen just ahead of it with a toilet under the stairs and a guest bedroom near it. The upstairs had two bedrooms and a toilet with a window at the end of the hallway. I quickly made my way to the guest bedroom as that was actually my room ever since I was a child because granddad made that room specially for me just before I was born.
I opened the door and a small smile made its way to my face as I saw my singled bed that had a cursive white fence around the sides and where the bed was against the wall. At first glance, it looks like a couch but its actually a bed that granddad bought for me. Near the end of the bed was a window seat with the window covered in stained glass that had a picture of a black wolf howling at the moon with a lake just near its paws. To the right of the room, was my favourite.
It slants slightly upward and was covered with polaroid pictures of my parents and grandparents when my mum was pregnant with me. Granddad took his time arranging the photos and to make it look even more breathtaking, he placed fairylights around the pictures that it let out a soft glow of orange that always made me wish that I could thank granddad for all he's done for me and wonder what he would do to comfort me.
As I took a seat on my bed, I let out a heavy sigh when I realized that its been years since I've been here. The house was always kept clean because dad had made arrangements for the maid services to come to the house once a week. They usually came earlier in the week and since it was mid-week, I wouldn't have any interruptions.
Guess I spoke too soon.
No sooner after I thought that I would finally be left in peace, Carter mind-linked me, "Jesse! Where the fuck are you?! Tell me now and let me come and get you!" I scoffed out and mind-linked back before blocking him, "No."
As I layed down on my bed and faced the wall filled with pictures, I fell in to a deep sleep.
